A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).
When an old beggar shows up filthy and injured on the doorstep of the Augustana Pathfinder Lodge in Andoran and demands to be recognized as Andoran's one true Emperor, Venture-Captain Wallace is inclined to chase him off. But when the old beggar reveals a wayfinder and tells a tale of demons and portals to another world beneath the streets of Augustana, Wallace summons you from Absalom to investigate. Will you make it through sewers, swarms, and sanctuaries to uncover the truth or will the dangers of the Augustana underworld consume you forever?

This scenario was part investigation, part heroic escapade, and part diplomatic errand. I enjoyed being down in the sewers, as weird as that sounds, and the NPC roleplaying was fantastic. The only way the roleplaying wouldn't be fun is if the GM didn't get into it.
spoiler:
It turns out that an insane homeless guy is actually telling the truth and may really be the lost prince of Augustana. When you go into the sewers to investigate you find out that a cleric of Abadar has made a sanctuary for beggars that is being attacked by a cruel gang, the Steel Wyverns, who are led by a mean but hilarious bard. Down in the sewers characters will also encounter sewer gas (fire spell users beware), swarms, and all sorts of nasty sewer fun. Play up the characters and throw some roleplay into combats as a GM and your players will thank you.
I'm not generally a fan of sewer modules (mostly due to the space constraints), but The Prince of Augustana managed to win me over. It has turned into my scenario of choice for newbie players, as it features interesting combat encounters and a few really entertaining NPCs.
Spoiler:
The hook for this mission is fun and intriguing, with a fantastic set-up supplied by the Prince. I really encourage GMs to go nuts and roleplay him as zany as possible; your players will love it.
The sewer exploration is above average, thanks to good encounter design and some interesting flavour text sprinkled throughout. The conflict between the Almsman and Steel Wyverns is a nice subplot, and adds a little depth to what could've been a simple dungeon crawl.
My only real complaints are:
1) The final encounter is a bit easy (at least at tier 1-2). I always feel like the Almsman battle is the true "end fight", and that the Dretches have been tagged on to pad out the scenario.
2) Natural gas and spider swarms? That's just mean.
My apologies for the egregious thread necromancy. I am just curious if anyone created images of the graffiti to be found in the sewers in this adventure? If so, I'd love to see them.
