A dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters.

The town of Falcon's Hollow needs a miracle.

The plague has come to the town of Falcon's Hollow, and not even the town's priest can abate its wretched course. With the coughs of the sick and the wails of the dying echoing through town, the local herbalist uncovers a cure, but she needs some brave heroes to retrieve the ingredients. Finding the cure means risking the dangerous Darkmoon Vale, infiltrating a witch's haunted hut, and delving the ruins of an abandoned dwarven monastery.

Hollow's Last Hope is a wilderness exploration and dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters, compatible with the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game. This sixteen-page adventure includes details on the haunted forest and deadly ruins that hide the key ingredients to the town's salvation. Do your heroes have the skill and courage to find the cure in time?

This adventure can also be run as a prelude to GameMastery Module D1: Crown of the Kobold King.

Fun little module

5/5

Ran this on my group and we had a blast. Great start for introducing the characters to Falcon's Hollow and its surrounding areas.

A Great Adventure

5/5

I wanted to get my feet wet DMing and give our awesome DM a chance to play for once, so I thought I'd try Hollow's Last Hope. It was a great success! Not only is the adventure brilliant, the mechanics and gameplay are easy for someone new to running a game.

Playtest review.

5/5

Our group has played through this adventure in 6 sessions (lots of roleplaying during and between the encounters), so we took our time with their first expedition into the Darkmoon Vale. The encounters were diverse and challenging, the "villain" memorable.

Most fun came from the fact that our group contained a dwarven cleric of Torag. We played the adventure as is, but I will start running D1 - Crown of the Kobold King this evening. Even the random encounters where easy to integrate into the story.

Kudos, Jason. Marvelous effort.

Addition: Last night I asked the group about their rating of the Adventure, they were unanimous in 4/5 stars. But that is only because they still needed some room upwards to give really brilliant adventures (Like Ne Moren's Vault, Mad God's Key and Life's Bazaar) a higher note than a really good adventure.

I've seen that too. usually there's an email for updates like this. It seems a table of contents was added to the PDF.

Scarab Sages

I have one for sale. It will go to the highest offer.

Man, I love this adventure! Maybe it was all the hope and excitement of the times. Maybe it was the maps, art, and unique magic items. I don't know, but this is one of my favorites.

Dark Archive

I loved thus one. Reading it at least. When I ran it I found it a little bit of a pain to have to learn so many rules: fighting swarms, darkness, tripping, grappling. While that was a lot to take in, the change of pace certainly enlivened things up from just the same old, same old, taking turns making basic attacks. I loved thus product so much that I decided I have to give more Paizo/golarion products another look. I was not into the idea of getting into another campaign setting at all and was turned off at that idea actually but GMs will frequently change setting for an adventure so I felt it could only be a good thing, a free adventure. It wad not long before I picked Crown of the Kobold King and Conquest of the bloodsworn Vale. I felt the AP line was really expensive but loved the my first 3 Golarion products so much I gave the first volume of Rise of the Runelords a try and thought so highly of it that I have been a huge fan of Paizo for years now. I am not all that happy with most of there RPG rules line(rather play 3.5 subsystems like Psionics, Bok of Nine Swords, Magic if Incarnum) but I am blown away by the quality of their adventures!

What's the starting bid?

Now, I am planning to run this as an intro to some new players and run D1: Crown of the Kobold King (yet to buy) right after it. Hollow's Last hope states that, if you run the two together, you should ditch the poisoned city plotline. Would this effectively reduce D0 to "just a few extra encounters" added to Crown of the Kobold King? I would prefer to keep Last Hope as it is, just run D1 after it. Is that possible without a major rewrite?

Keeping it as is should be fine. The PCs will likely earn a little more XP, but that's okay.

With this module & other Free RPG Day content, can I print copies of it to share with friends if all print copies have been sold? The reason I ask is I have some friends I've made in prison through contact via Play-by-Mail games. Some of them were recently allowed to purchase a PF Core Rule Book, Game Master's Guild, & Bestiary. They asked me if I knew the game & could send them some scenarios. Now I know it wouldn't be ethical to send them copies of any pdf material that I have paid for, but I was thinking the material from Free RPG Days if there wasn't any more print copies available for purchase or other Free PDFs (such as the First Steps Series of Scenarios for PFS play) would be okay.
