The World of D&D Poster Map (4 of 4)
The fourth and final giant poster map by all-star cartographer Robert Lazaretti reveals the infamous Causeway of Fiends, the beleaguered Duchy of Tenh, and the trackless lands of the Snow Barbarians. At last, DUNGEON readers can chart our core D&D adventures on a world map fit for kings!

Fiend’s Embrace
by Stephen S. Greer
Ages ago, the demon prince Graz’zt fashioned a cloak, the Fiend’s Embrace, from the skin of a pit fiend captured in the Blood War, and offered it as a gift to his lover, the witch-queen Iggwilv. Today, rumors hold the Fiend’s Embrace is hidden in a keep in the Cold Marshes—will agents of a jealous demigod get to the cloak before the PCs? A D&D adventure for 4th-level characters.

The Styes
by Richard Pett
Once, the Styes was the ocean gateway to a major city, her magnificent buildings crowning a man-made island held aloft on piers and boardwalks. Now, it has grown old and diseased, a perfect haven for sadists, cultists, and hungry things that flop and writhe. A D&D adventure for 9th-level characters.

Secrets of the Arch Wood
by Skip Williams
A few years ago, the swords of Archendale went ahead with plans to log a section of the Arch Wood near their borders. Yet only a year later, the logging stopped abruptly—Archendale’s rulers did not reveal the reason, but that reason is about to make itself known. A FORGOTTEN REALMS adventure for 13th-level characters.

Styes Debut issue

Iggwilv and Graz'zt on the cover,
Fiend's Embrace by Steve Greer-a jaunt into a cold marsh in Greyhawk to retrieve a "Valentine's Day Present" from Graz'zt to Iggwilv....the two heavy hitters don't figure Directly into the adventure, but this is one of my favorite background setups.
There's also a great map in the adventure of the marsh done from a kind of "Google earth" perspective.

This issue also saw Richard Pett debuting his now legendary setting The Styes. It's simply a blast to read. It's steampunk mentality, or "the new weird" as I've heard the genre described, a grungy urban adventure in the manner of China Mieville and/or H P Lovecraft.
It works great with 3.5 D&D.
The Styes is vaguely written up, along with a map; it's designed to be attached to a major city. There's plenty to suggest further adventures there IMHO.
This is an inter-AP issue of Dungeon, so no Shackled City or Age of Worms involved.

Do you have fond memories of "The Styes" from the halcyon days of Dungeon Magazine?
Perhaps a bit of lingering PTSD?
Were you afraid that it was gone forever? (or maybe you wanted it to be?)

Well fret not, friends and fiends, because Richard Pett's very own campaign from which "The Styes" was spawned lives on...lives again...whichever...in The Blight: Richard Pett's Crooked City forthcoming from Frog God Games.

See where the madness began and where it was first afflicted upon the poor souls who have had the misfortune to be trapped in Rich's home game for the past few decades (usually strapped to a chair in a bricked up room is my understanding)

And tonight at the stroke of midnight, a special preview pdf revealing the first 10 pages of this dastardly edition of devious d...something (writing is hard!) will be released for free download here under the Updates tab. Previous updates on this page also include special treats from the previous 6 days of The Blight reveals in anticipation of this Halloween release.

But this special release will be available only from midnight at the eve of All Hallow's Eve until midnight at the eve of...post-All Hallow's Eve...that's probably not very clear. Okay it's available from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow. After that the link will be taken down and this special free preview pdf will disappear into the aether...forever.

Actually, it'll probably pop back up at some time during The Blight KS that will be launched by Frog God Games on Nov. 15, but Halloween is the only time you will be able to get it before then. So don't miss out!

The Lantern Man gives it four thumbs up!

Magnificent! Excellent, creepy, and beautifully disturbing. Very Pett-esque. Very much looking forward to backing the KS!
