I have found added benefit for my players by a little extra planning using pre-made adventures. I look over the module for any specific equipment or treasure, and place those related cards in a binder for reference. I also gave my 1st level PCs a simple folder with a customized character sheet, graph paper, and a plastic card sheet for up to nine cards (and one class or race specific item card as a nifty bonus to introduce them to my treasure allotment scheme). It has been a very fruitful experience.

GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

The cards themselves are absolutely fantastic in regards to art and cloudy wonderment of what - if anything - these items might actually do for a PC or NPC BBEG. Make a list of ALL the items. Atleast all the basic items found in the PH's and DMG's of the most popular Table top RPG's. in this case I will use DnD as an example. I would list all simple, martial and exotic weapons. all armor and shields. and all basic equpiment including but not limited to alchemists labs and clothes. I'd even put the water clock in there. Now you will have a pretty nice list for us to select from, and how I would get us to choose would be to put a quantity box beside the name of each item. like the way you do with the shopping cart. We know the box set of items comes with 54 cards. So what I suggest is that you make the amount you must buy when picking itmes out for yourself should be something along the lines of say 35 cards and pay the price of a full box set. because you get to pick exactly what you wanted so you're paying for convience. This way people buying for the first time would still buy the box set to get a start up for what appears to be cheaper. and people who already have 1,2 or 3 box sets can start picking and prodding through items they feel they need. Mull over my idea I think it will help you out alot.

GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

I have an idea of how you could sell the items and make everyone happy. Unfortunately, I didn't read the packages prior to buying a WHOLE box of cards... And imagine my chagrin to find that I didn't have a single chain shirt, or studded leather armor, or a rapier... ad infinitum. I don't want a "collectible card game without the game" - I want a GM aid. Let me buy which items I want... Look at the DMG - it'll certainly give you an idea of which items to clump together. Heck, let me buy a batch of cards clumped in accordance with the various random treasure tables... And put one item of each table in the set (and yes, people will buy a big batch if you can get what you want).

GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

These cards are great! The cards changed the way we inventory items in our campaign.

My only issue is the randomization of the cards. I prefer a system where we can buy sinlge cards as we need them. Or, perhaps a set of scrolls at a time or armor. They're perfect aids in helping with the visualization of gameplay. I have drawn items in the past for our games just so that there is some sort of representation and now we have these beautifully illustrated cards with durable backs to write notes upon, erase and reuse. I'm very excited to see the new sets coming out.

I did notice within the first sets "Hero's Hoarde" that there were some items that had a theme running through them. I think that's a FANTASTIC idea. It would be even more special if there were whole sets of armor, weapons, rings, amulets, cloaks that carried the theme. Sort of like "these things were made by this dwarven weaponsmith" or "these potions/wands/scrolls were created by this elven sorceror". Something that could be used for a plot or to build a game around.

I bought two packs, one for playing and one for my collection. Just a word of advise to you newbies: buy some protective sleeves and write on them with a Sharpe, instead of writing on them with pencil and having to erase periodically. Just waiting for the booster packs and I will buy more. Keep up the great work and speed up the process of getting the booster packs.
SKUGGIES2006-04-27T11:01:25ZGameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck: Excellent product (5 stars)Benoist Poiréhttps://paizo.com/products/btpy7m6a?GameMastery-Item-Cards-Item-Pack-One-Deck2006-04-21T21:43:46Z
GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

The Item Pack I is an excellent product for all dungeon crawlers and fans of D&D and fantasy RPGs who want to have a better organization and/or visual references for equipment and magic items:

These cards allow for some easy tracking of "who owns what" during the game, "what's been given to whom" and "what's been sold and/or bought". Plus, it serves as a neat visual reference for weird items and can possibly provide triggers for DMs to come up with more inspired descriptions of items in the game.

The production value for $9.95 is good, the cards are "Magic: the Gathering"-like in terms of quality (which is to say, very good), and the back of the card (the white area to write down the specifics of the item) is laminated differently to allow an easier writing.

Excellent idea, excellent execution. Can't wait for the next packs.

GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

The Item Pack I is an excellent product for all dungeon crawlers and fans of D&D and fantasy RPGs who want to have a better organization and/or visual references for equipment and magic items:

As an artist, I appreciate the fine art Mr. Vincent Dutrait produces, and I remember buying the Spellfire cards (back in the day) just for their artwork (I never actually played the game). Not to mention I LOVE the idea of player handouts and 54 cards for only 9.95 is great!

GameMastery Item Cards: Item Pack One Deck

These sound AWESOME.
