Item Pack One contains 54 non-random playing-card–sized cards to help GMs track important treasures. Each card features a beautiful full-color illustration of an item (weapon, armor, wondrous item, etc.) on one side, with a text description and room for notes on the opposite side. A GM can hand these out the next time their PCs get treasure and watch as players learn to love managing their booty. A code on each card helps GMs track which card corresponds to which treasure.

Useable by experienced GMs and novices alike, this product fits perfectly into any Game Master's arsenal.

Wonderful product

5/5

I am sold on them. Great artwork and durable well worth the investment.

I love 'em

5/5

I had my doubts, but I love the cards and can't wait to start using them. The artwork is very good and the cards seem like they will hold up pretty well to abuse. I bought 2 packs and have no regrets. I'll be buying boosters when they arrive also, good job Paizo!

Very attractive

5/5

They're very nice, high quality and add a nice visual enhancement to my D&D campaign. Good job, I'll order more.

4/5

Nice pack.

I did cards like these myself for D&D. But I think this is better to put picture and space for notes on the same side.

Reminds Me of A Word I Call AWESOME

5/5

These sound AWESOME. As an artist, I appreciate the fine art Mr. Vincent Dutrait produces, and I remember buying the Spellfire cards (back in the day) just for their artwork (I never actually played the game). Not to mention I LOVE the idea of player handouts and 54 cards for only 9.95 is great!

I'm still really confused as to which of these card sets are random and which are 'complete' (for lack of a better word).

Item Pack 1 is complete, right? It includes all 54 cards, 1-54?

Booster Packs are random? You get 12 random cards out of a possible 54 in the set?

Dragon's Hoard is complete and includes all 110 cards?

The product description needs to be clarified because even some of the buyers seem confused as to what they got.

Thanks.

Given your own definitions of the terms "complete" and "random":

- Item Packs 1 are complete.

- Heroe's Hoard are random (11 random cards per booster pack).

- Relics of War are random (idem).

- Adventure Gear is complete.

Based on the fact there are 110 new cards in Dragon's Trove, we can safely assume these will be sold like the Hoard and Relics of War (collections of 110 total cards too). So it will be available in booster packs, and random.

Hope this helps.

Actually, while yours is a good guess regarding Dragon's Trove, it's wrong. The plan for Dragon's Trove has been changed - it is still a 110 card set, but it wil be sold as a complete deck only. So:

Item Pack 1: Complete 54 card deck
Adventure Gear: Complete 54 card deck
Heroes Hoard: Randomized 11 card boosters in 110 card set
Relics of War: Randomized 11 card boosters in 110 card set
Dragon's Trove: Complete 110 card deck

Now why should that be confusing? =)

Hey there all,

Just to clarify even further. If it comes in a box, it is a complete set. Only the boosters are random (Heroes Hoard and Relics of War). As of this moment, due to customer feedback, we have no intention of putting out another booster set anytime soon.

Great! Thanks for the clarification, all. I'm in shortly for the complete stuff.

WOW. I love to be wrong under these conditions! =°)

Crap, I missed out on these (having only recently seen, after buying a box of both booster sets, what a nice resource these cards can be)...is this set getting reprinted?

Not as such. We do plan to introduce a new introductory double-deck set that will include some crossover with this set next year.

Stay tuned.

I loved the Dragon's Trove so this is good news. I've enjoyed the "single" decks, but there was something really fun about the sheer number of cards in the double set.

Well, there are other websites (nowhere near as cool as Paizo's, of course) and probably even a location or two in your area that would still have them or be able to acquire them.

I ordered one set the other night, and will probably order another one or two just in case I ever get a game going again.

I have not even seen this particular deck. I ordered two off of Amazon today. Maybe it will be worth money one day.

Liberty's Edge

Okay. This is just the information I've been looking for and I'm almost ready to commit to buying these item cards. While I like the fact you've decided to go 'non-random', I agree with a poster on another thread that some items beg for duplicates. I really would like 8 backpacks so that every PC can have one. But having 8 Magnifying glasses would be unnecessary. Any chance of releasing 'non-random' boosters?

For example, a pack of 10 suits of armor. It would include one or more of each type so that two people can have different versions. Evil Plate (black with spikes and such) and Good plate....

For these to work for me, I'm going to have to find a way to have enough copies of cards I need multiples of, without buying multiples of cards I don't need.

Of course, I may just give it a whirl and see what happens.

If you're the DM (which I'm assuming you are, given your username), I'd ask your players to purchase the basic gear sets--especially if the DM is purchasing supplemental sets. It is, IMO, unrealistic to expect the DM to cover all the expenses like this. And, as attactive as the cards are, there may be players that would prefer the normal pencil & paper way of monitoring inventory.

Oh, and the mundane items (like healing kits, backpacks, etc.) are in the Adventure Gear deck.

There is at least one site that I know of (CCG Armory) that deals in singles from Relics of War and Heros Hoard.

You finally persuaded me and proved again that you really listen to your customers. :-)

Two days ago I still complained that the chronicle subscription wasn't suited to me because I hate collectible cards - and today I read that you already switched course and favour complete card sets over collectible boosters! :-))

I just ordered enough cards to fit out my group. ;-)
Only criticism so far: The number of single items in the adventure gear pack is too low: You don't need one magnifying glass per player, but you could certainly need more than one back pack/ one rope/ one blanket - I still won't be able to purchase four adventure gear decks just in order to fit out my players... ;-)

I'd really look forward to a whole group adventure gear 110 card pack that includes all essential equipment for your average four player group.

Cheers,
Günther

I'd like to know how the material these cards are made of is like.
There's room to make notes on them, but with what kind of pen?
With pen, pencil, or something?
Are they eraseable?
If a player uses f.e. a potion and gives it back to me as DM, am I able to change the description and use it for another potion later in the game?

The cards are about as thick as regulation playing cards. They are, in jargon, unfinished, that is, like Magic cards, and unlike a Bicycle poker deck.

The back has a completely uninked area for notes. Light or moderate pencil markings come off as easily as on notebook paper.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply!

Sticky notes and/or penny sleeves plus erasable markers will work as well if you're concerned about marring your cards.

I do not believe they are going to reprint these but there are other sets and more coming.

These are actually not out of print yet. We're having a bit of trouble with the site right now and we're working on fixing it asap.

Thanks!

Gary is working on fixing a bunch of bugs and this is one of them. I imagine that he'll have this one fixed sometime next week. He's also busy printing labels for Pathfinder #5. Woo-hoo!

Yay... Too both of these thing... I can't wiat for PF5 and of course I want another deck of these cards.

Dark Archive

So, these cards are still avaiable?

Absinth wrote:

Yes, the "Currently Unavailable" tag on it is still the byproduct of some problem with the code that Gary hasn't been able to fix. I know it's on his short list to get to soon so please hang in there.

Can anyone tell me if these are Dry-Erasable (or however you want to word it...)?

It would be great if you could fill in the notes section, then clear it off if that item is lost, used (in case of potions or scrolls), or you start a new campaign.

Thanks for the help/information.

felonius wrote:

They are not. It's card stock (read: paper) so you get the ability to erase with a plain old #2 pencil.

I cut up a file label and stick it on the back and write on that. If I am done with the item the label comes off easily and I can reuse the card.

Jason,

Is this deck (Item Pack #1) still for sale and just on back order or is it discontinued? I would like to buy a pack or two of this deck. In reading through this thread there are clearly conflicting points of view on this.

I was able to find and order this item from thoughthammer.com

That's great but to answer your question, yes it is still available from us but we currently have a bug that's making it unavailable. Gary is working on fixing it and as soon as he does, it will be available again.

Very cool, because I need two more

Looks like Gary squashed that bug and now it's available again. Huzzah!!!

I'm a little confused about these platemail cards from this set.
Platemail is not listed on the armor-list in the SRD.
I assume it is just another word for full plate, right?

Is it possible to order specific cards? If so, how do I order, say, 30 of each of the four scroll cards (if they ever were to return to print)?
