Hmm... sounds like Vanish first to break line of sight and then a slide to get somewhere out of reach. Standard for vanish, then a move for the slide... buh bye!

For an arcanist on his own, that's not a bad way to avoid trouble.

Essentially, I feel the viewpoint they have is that the world is one big prank waiting to happen and everyone, even you, can be the butt of it at any time. This doesn't mean you're out to hurt people but if you can save the world AND make people laugh.. then why not?

Your part in this play is to ensure that everyone either has a good laugh, learns from that prank, or preferably BOTH.

More than one greedy noble has found out that lady they fancied was in fact a fox (in the LITERAL sense), who just made off with their purse, their clothes, and their dignity to force them to walk back to the castle, in the nude, in front of all of their subjects...

And that's just for starters.

I've yet to find an answer either way on this, but is Dimensional Slide loud/obvious and breaks stealth?

Would it's use, by itself, allow those guards the arcanist is currently hiding from to automatically see the user, just allow for a perception roll, or leave them out of luck if they didn't know where he was before?

Pug/Milamber of Midkemia.

This is a guy who early in his career turned a time based trapped set by an evil god inside out. Conan would be an after thought.

Pug's also destroyed whole worlds. If he really wanted Conan dead, he would be.

Raymond E. Fiest, the athor, wrote him so powerful he's having a hard time trying to keep him down.
