Barbarians at the Gate!

5/5

So again, there are two reasons you should buy these paper minis. First if you are running this adventure and you want a consistent artistic representation for all of the NPC's. But the other is if you need the type of villains and heroes that show up in these types of stories. You need a Red Mantis Assassin or two? Barbarians perhaps? How about an extremely large sand worm that looks straight out of Dune? For the price? How can you turn that down. As a DM, I find these minis to be very helpful. I highly suggest you check one out.

Anther great set of minis

5/5

So the website ate my original review.

Here's the basics. The price is so worth it. For the same cost of one metal mini, you get every mini needed to run the adventure. How great is that?

The art is really great. Jack just keeps getting better. I like the consistent and realistic style he's had on this adventure path thus far. Can't wait to see the next few, I think the barbarians and undead are going to be awesome.

And there are some really useful minis here. Want Pirates and Thugs? Check. Want exotic villains? Got those too. Want evil cultists or Red Mantis Assassins? Yep there in here. So even if you have no interest in this AP, if you run any games in an urban setting, these will come in handy.

Another great set

5/5

These paper mini sets just keep getting better. Even if you're not running this adventure, the urban setting allows many of these minis to be reusable. And who doesn't want minis for an undead fancy dance party?

Impressed

5/5

There are a number of reasons to get a set like this. First off, if you're running the adventure path. This set gives you a number of great looking thugs and adventurers. Sure some of them are repeated, but let's be honest the repeated no name thug is there to be just one in the crowd. Not every NPC needs to be unique, sometimes they're just dudes to fight.

But what really got me with this one is the really great looking art from C. Jack.

Only minor complaint is that Devargo Barvasi and Sabina Merrin went a bit too far from the original art. Merrin in particular doesn't look nearly as unique. Unless she was supposed to Cressida Kroft, who I wish had been in the set. I expect we'll see her in the next set.

Overall, great job.

Great Characters

5/5

Dark Mistress has already given a well written review, but I think this product deserves multiple voices and praise.

I wasn't certain if I wanted to get this one at first. To begin with, I know very well that not all of my players would be willing to play a pregenerated character. And I was not that familiar with the particular Gothic adventure that these characters were designed for. But I've been impressed with Neil Spicer and Clark Peterson's work in the past, and the online preview of Hugo Solis's art was really great. So I took a chance and I'm really glad I did.

One of the first things I noticed is that the characters in this product are not only well crafted and would make excellent PC's, but they really work well together as a party. There is a good mix of magical and nonmagical classes, and a nice selection of nontraditional classes and races. The characters have some related themes to their backgrounds, including characters that are related to each other, which is always a good way to bring PC's together. And another character is a detective, which would be very helpful keeping the party on task during the course of the adventure.

And the concepts of the characters are so interesting, that even if my players do not use these exact characters, they might influence characters they do make. For example, I might never see Jevalt, dhampir Inquisiter or Ysabot, changeling Witch, but these characters might inspire my players to create a dhampir or changeling character.

And for those who are uncertain of the Gothic element, I do want to point out that only a few characters would feel out of place in any setting. With very minor changes (really just their connection to the Professor) you could take most of these characters and put them in any adventure as PC or NPC.

I see this product as a resource for me as a DM to allow players to use these characters, to inspire them to make nontraditional races and classes, to show them a party that works well together, or if nothing else to populate the world with interesting NPC's.

Thanks for reading.

Everything you could possibly need for ORCS!!!

5/5

What a great surprise! I love what pathfinder has done for Goblins, and we have definitely covered them in a variety of great mini sets, but the Orc really hasn't had the respect they deserve. I love using them. They're smart enough to be as effective as any human or dwarven army. And the different classes you'll find in here are great. Orc Ninja? Check. Orc Shadowdancer? Check. And a special shout out to the Orc Duelist and the Rockin' Bard!

I'm assuming this was Jack's art work, but I could be wrong. I couldn't find an artist listed. I'll just say I really like whoever did this and it would go very well with the Rise of the Runelord Set. Great work again! Can't wait for the next one.

More Awesome Minis!

5/5

The Battle Studio has been consistently creating really wonderful minis. I love the Pathfinder Paper Mini Line, but the one thing left out are paper minis for Players. Tim is not only filling that gap, but he's has a fun and unified look for all the PC and additional NPC's. And his anime style for the characters is just perfect.

And for the price? How can you not get these.

Great work Tim.

Great Set

5/5

This is turning into one of my favorite lines. The fact that I'm trying to run this adventure right now is even better. Really it's worth it for the price, and the characters and monsters in this set will add so much to any jungle adventure. And the animals will make any Druid or Ranger happy I'm sure.

Great Set

I'm a big fan of the Pathfinder Paper Minis, but one set I've been hoping for is one for standard PC's. Here we go. For the price you really can't beat this.

I just hope that the name Human Adventurers means non-human adventurers are coming soon.

Lions, Tigers, Stone Giants, Oh My

5/5

From fun old men Dwarves and high kicking mummy monks to a ton of large sized ogres and giants, this one has a lot going for it. Of course this will help you run Rise of the Runelords, but beyond that the ability to create an army of paper minis for your game is so helpful. Besides, making paper minis is pretty fun. I'm very happy to see these products come out, even though I've put my Runelords game on hold. Without playing this particular adventure, I could see how you might not use every mini in this set. That said, for the money this is the best option for getting a lot of awesome giant minis. This set has 21 pages of minis with lots of variety. Since N'wah and Jack have been reinvesting in their older paper minis sets, the usefulness of these sets has really increased. Keep it up guys.
