I was floored when I heard about Wizard's/Hasbro's intentions to change the OGL. The OGL made gaming what it is today & allowed for many companies to offer new and innovative products and ideas for players and GMs. I'm so happy that Paizo is creating a new license and that they won't own it and will instead find another entity to manage it, which will be in the best interest of the gaming community.

Well, my card has not been charged as of yet. What's up Paizo?

It might be better to shift to a 1.5 edition than a straight up 2e. Make some major changes while also making it feel the same. Worked pretty good for D&D 3 to 3.5e. Personally I'm more a fan of AD&D 2nd Ed than anything else, but I also liked THAC0 and things where you had to subtract as well as add. Sorry, but even basic math is fun to me.

Thanks for the plug for Displacement Con.

Come and play with us:

Displacement Con on Warhorn

Like us on Facebook

Join the Discord and sign up as a GM or just hang out as a Player

We have close to 150 people registered on Warhorn and are in need of more GMs so people have games to play.

We have Eyes of the Ten scheduled and we need GMs that would like to run those scenarios.

While we have GMs signed up for PFS2 and SFS, none have signed up yet for our PFS, PFS Modules or PFS2 Quest offerings. This is the time to take your pick and get the time and scenario you want as a GM.

Players, check out our announcements for information on when player sign-ups start. GMs the sooner you sign-up to GM the sooner you get to sign-up for your player slots, don't miss out on the slots you want.

offer us an empty box for purchase to place on our shelves next to our other boxes in the series

Not happy that these are not boxed. I rely on the boxes to help me organize my sets. I actually make my own dividers to create rows and then movable dividers to separate pawns, not one for each creature, but spread out to help find things easier. It is a lot of work, but everyone that has seen what I have done ask me to do that for theirs.

I would happily by some empty Boxes for all the pawns I have that didn't come with some, just like we can buy little boxes for map-packs that were made prior to them being sold with the box.

I do hat to think of the cost as they cannot ship flat, unless Paizo can design one we can assemble, which I think can be done.

I am organizing Society Events for a Convention Labor Day weekend and there is no option to add Second Edition Scenarios to my Event Listing. I have been checking into this every week or so for the past 2 months and assumed it was due to the fact that they had not released as of yet. Well, it is past that time and I really want to list these scenarios for my event. Can someone please look into this issue?

Thanks,

maldar

Has Paizo ever considered a special boon to recognize those that organize society play at conventions? I am doing that for the first time and am really understanding the work this entails. I really wish I would have looked to have a couple people help out instead of doing it all myself. Just dealing with the convention owner was a job in itself.

What I would like to propose is a boon that's progressive and you achieve more benefits as you organize more conventions. I would like to see it be retroactive as well, say 5 years or something, Paizo can decide that one. I know many organizers that have done a ton of work and are also VOs on top of organizing a convention.

What do others think? I really want to hear from convention organizers, but all input is welcome.

Too bad I have a bigger discount on everything. Would have been nice if they gave those of us with the Paizo Advantage an extra 2% or something like that. I have no incentive to place an extra order outside of my normal subscription.

Added a Pin for my Grand Rapids, Michigan location, and informed 3 other groups about this map. The East side of Michigan is now no longer bare. Just about to send off a message to a person I forgot to notify.

So, I just saw this and I am wondering how many other GMs and Players cannot wait for its release.

Starfinder Society Scenario #01-14: Star Sugar Heartlove

I have a player whos character states that they totally ripped off his songs, but failed in his legal battles against the Pop Stars.

Anyone else work them into character backgrounds?

Are you excited to see where this might lead?

Or are you just shaking your head right now?

We totally need Paizo to make us some Tour T-shirts prior to the release so I can show up wearing one to run this scenario.

Can we please get a pocket edition soon? While I have the Hardcover and PDF, I would really like a pocket-sized one for my downtime at work.

Pathfinders,

I have created a Google Doc you might be interested in copying for your own use. While I know there are other versions out there, I didn't like the ones I saw in the short time I was looking and thought I would add mine for those that might find it useful. The document is a spreadsheet that allows you to track what character you have played in a scenario and if you DM, the character to which you have applied a scenario's credit. Spots are included for both Regular Play and CORE Play.

The document tracks the following:
Scenarios
Adventure Paths
Quests
Modules

I have created two versions of the document. The first uses a sheet for each season of scenarios, and separate sheets for Adventure Paths, Quests and Modules. The second document is a long form that has everything on one sheet.

You can view the documents at the following links:

Individual Sheets
Long Form

Please inform me if these links don't work for you, you have trouble copying them to your Google Drive, or you have problems editing them in your Google Drive. This is the first time I have tried sharing a Google Doc in such a way.

Google Docs can be accessed via your phone using the Google Drive app. Now you will be able to check to see if you have played a scenario from anywhere you have access to the internet.

While I will update the documents regularly to add new scenarios, you will have to visit the above links to copy and paste the new information into your document or you can add the information yourself.

I hope everyone that needs to, finds a use for these documents.

Thanks,

maldar

The Humble Bundle team just sent me an email back on the ticket I submitted about the issue and I just tried submitting my email again and it worked. If you still have an issue, they suggested doing what Alanya says to do above.

Hmmm, is tax included? A table of four each buying a $2.49 item in one state might qualify for the $10 level, but in a neighboring state it wouldn't.

If it was a table I was running, a few cents off is not going to prevent the table from using the boon. There are other GMs that will want it to be EXACTLY $10 or over. I'm more into the "spirit" of the boon. If Paizo staff want to say otherwise, that is up to them, but I'm not going to penalize the players for being a few cent short.

Before someone ask, I did seek permission from Paizo staff to post this and was told this section should be the best place to post.

I discovered this KickStarter on Friday night and think that it is a nice idea.

As is, it can be a great item for many people. However, I have been in contact with the creator of the Ideaboard and asked him if it was possible to have him produce pages that had a 1 inch square grid on them. He is willing to produce these, if I can get 10 other people wanting them as well to back the project and request them.

While these pages would be smaller than a normal mat, I see this as a good replacement. GMs could have maps predrawn, there are transparent overly sheets that are included so you can draw on them to display area-of-effect spells without having to redraw the maps each time. NO MORE WATER & TOWEL, these are dry erase.

The person at Paizo mentioned having the transparent sheets predrawn with rooms that are added/fliped to as the party discovers them. Just another time saving idea. If I get premission I will add the Paizo staff member's name that came up with the idea.

I'm not sure if it is possible to buy more transparent sheets, but I will ask the creator.

While I do not know that I will get 10 from this group to pledge, I'm hoping that some of you might be interested. While the Ideaboard starts at $59, more than a mat and pen set for gaming, it is something that can be used for more than gaming.

Check it out, tell some friends about it and about the 1 inch square grid sheets I'm trying to get produced as well. If you can/are willing please post else where, talk to your group, etc.

Be sure to mention my name and the 1 inch square grid sheets so he knows that people are interested and so he can keep track of the number of people we need. I will try and update that if I get numbers from him.

If you have questions, please go to the KickStarter site & ask the creator; you can ask here and I can then ask him, but it will take much longer. Either way, post here about what you ask and the response given as it may be of interest to others.

I am not affiliated with IdeaBoard other than being a Backer and submitting the idea of 1 inch square grid pages to the creator after I discovered the project on Friday 9/14/12.

Thanks for your time.

That's an extremely naive and simplistic view of the world. Very frequently the facts never come out, the truth is never told, and secrets go to unmarked graves.

True, without knowing the facts nor having both side of the story one cannot be expected to really be able to give a balanced reply.

As for the store owner agreeing? Most will just agree with you to pacify you. I worked retail for 14 years and know how people abuse the system called, "The customer is always right." That system is flawed and cost consumers more in the long run as business have to increase prices to cover the cost of other using that system to scam the store. So, NO, the customer is NOT always right. Wish I had links, but many economist agree that we would be much better off if retailers would not follow that outdated saying.

But it is also very important for a GM to PLAY, with a variety of GMs of different styles. Even playing with a "bad" GM is a valuable experience in improving your own abilities. And I've learned something from every "good" GM I've played a session with.

I agree with that 100%.

What needs to also be consisdered is that GMs need to play as well and not always GM. One is to prevent GM burnout. Two is to allow them to see the game from a players viewpoint from time to time; to recall what it is like on the other side of the "screen".

Not sure if anyone has thought of this before, but since there is the on-line role-playing; how about creating a group for just GMs so they can Zero a game before running it locally. This would be good for those areas that only have 1-2 GMs that don't get to play. Does d20Pro support on-line games or just locally networked games. I know there are other programs and with programs like Vent and TS, players could still Role Play. This may even be something the VCs or LCs maybe interested in doing for GMs in their areas. I know I would if my job had more steady hours.
