I would put the caster on notice.

Tell him that this is a quest for good that will not be marred with the slaughter of innocents. Tell him that you are watching him and the next time he kills innocents out of malice or recklessness he had better target you because next time he will have to answer in blood.

We pared the Item creation feats down to 3 separate feats.

Create Minor
Create Medium
Create Major

Any class that gives create scrolls or potions gets the Create minor instead.

The rule is that Create Minor can make any item less than 8,000 cost
Medium 8,000 - 27,500
Major 28,000 ++

Just like the wondrous item break down.

Any player can create any item they want for an investment of three feats.

Watching to much BASTARD! Manga and thinking of the pure fire mage who gives up the ability to use cold magics in order to empower his fire spells.

Heart of Fire
Requirement: Arcane caster, Must not have the Heart of Ice feat.

Benefit: When casting spells of the Fire subtype you deal +1 damage per die. You may no longer cast spells of the cold subtype.

Heart of Ice
Requirement: Arcane caster, Must not have the Heart of Ice Fire.

Benefit: When casting spells of the Cold subtype you deal +1 damage per die. You may no longer cast spells of the fire subtype.

Heart of Acid
Requirement: Arcane caster, Must not have the Heart of Storms feat.

Benefit: When casting spells of the Acid subtype you deal +1 damage per die. You may no longer cast spells of the electricity subtype.

One GM I had used an interesting twist on Initiative.

He would have each player go off in reverse initiative. That means the slowest person went off first.

People with higher initiatives could give up their normal full round action and do a standard action on someone's turn. It made disrupting spell casters allot easier and the rogue with Imp Init was truly scary.
