Tiberius enters the scene, draped in his new vestments as a member of the church. He has been instructed to seek out adventure and wonder, and promote the Church and bring more followers. Though he is devoted to the church, he knows there are other gods in the universe. One of them saved him when he was a child, and helped him in times of great need. He approaches a priest of the church and asked, Tell me Father, where might one go to find these adventures? The Orcs may pose a significant problem for the city and these rumors should be investigated, but I haven’ta thought of where to start.

Exactly my point. Though having it to identify different alchemical items, there really isn’t much use for creating alchemical items.

Scarab Sages

I guess I just don't see the appeal in crafting any more here. I loved the alchemist for his crafting, but now it seems so mundane. I get that I can just pay up front and have access to lesser items, but lets take Elixir of Life into example.

At Level 1, this item's price is 3 GP, Then we will jump to level 9 for 150.

Level 1 calculations:
1.5GP upfront cost, spend 4 days crafting, spend remaining 1.5GP (If available (common item, probably available) just buy it and save 4 days of downtime.
Task Level 1, .2GP for trained earning, it will take 8 ADDITIONAL days, to save 1.5 GP, so in 12 days we "earned" 1.5 GP. If I just did Earned income that whole time for the same Level 1, I'd make 2.4 GP (.2x12) in essence, loosing 1GP in the 12 days. Including money spent, with crafting, I've spent 1.5 (1.5GP initial, 12 days total crafting), without, I've spent .6GP (.2GP earned for 12 days giving me 2.4GP, but spending 3 GP on the item.)

Bump up to Level 9
Our new Elixir has a cost of 150 GP, so we spend 75. After 4 days, assuming we made the check, we can spend an additional 150GP for the item, or spend up to an additional 19 days crafting to keep our cost that low (75GP/4GP daily earned income) so, 23 days to save 75 GP in item cost. Total earned income? 92 GP. Again, using the same level (if available) to calculate total. At this level I'd say it's a fair assessment pending where you are that these jobs may not be available, so crafting might be the better option, then again, if it is, you'd just do that as your total actual cost is still lower just buying the bloody thing and working Earned Income the whole time.

Oh, just for giggles, 19 level Elixir cost 4,000 GP and 35 days to complete. Earned Income nets 4,550

I get that they were trying to help balance party WBL, but at the same time, they nerfed crafting so much I don't see a need for it, other than character flavor. I'm just going to buy everything.

Bloody Goblins! Open this door! You hear shouted from below decks. There’s a bit of crashing and banging. Suddenly two goblins scurry up from below decks laughing and jumping, meanwhile being chased by a large cloaked figure. He attempts to grab one but he easily slips away. If I didn’t need this passage, I’d cleave all of you to tiny pieces and feed you to the sharks! he exclaims again. Across his chest you see a bandolier with several small vials, none of them labeled, but each has very distinct colorations to them, you also see a couple of twigs, some leaves, and a vial of unknown liquid sitting in the last pouch. Across the Half-Orcs back lays a Greataxe, and you make out what appears to be a dagger jutting from his belt. A keen eye notices another dagger on his left forearm, and a sling tied to his right. As the goblins climb the main mast and well out of his reach, he shouts out, By Sarenrae’s light, if I ever get the chance, you’ll learn why the call me Cracked Tusk! with that he retreats back below deck, not wishing to be disturbed unless necessary.

My back to her holding my arm to keep her back. I draw the sickle from my side and prepare to pounce on whomever comes around the corner following us. Isn’t it amazing how many people want to play Kingmaker? I don’t think any other AP gets this much love. Tell you guys what. I’ll try to DM (my first time) but there would be some expectations involved. I wouldn’t have any maps or handouts, so classic D&D experience would be applied, also sources would be limited to just a few books. I’m thinking Core, APG, UM, UC, and UE. You can roll for stats, (4d6 reroll 1s) or 20 pt. Buy. You may choose the point buy after you roll. Again, I’m not experienced in DMing so take that as you may.

It's a lot of (Ex) abilities that can let me function as an in-combat healer without expressly disrupting the flow. As an action I can apply a small number of HP to the target that may have various benefits. Definitely not the "You Can Be Whole Again" of a Cleric, but more of a "You're still alive, and you'll heal eventually".

Ah gotcha, I’ll stick with the vitalist then.

Ok, so I have been seeing a bunch of posts asking for new classes like swashbuckler and thing things like that. What I don't understand, is why does Paizo have to make a new class that just combines what is already out there? Ninja (rouge/monk), Cavalier (Paladin/Fighter), Magus (Wizard/Fighter), Alchemist (Wizard/Rogue), even the witch (WIZARD/WIZARD! They just redid what he can do!). All these classes would make great prestige classes, but at their core, they are just these base classes. Why make it easier to get the things we want. Back when I first began playing D&D, I loved trying to figure out how to multi-class to get just what my character needs, but Paizo keeps putting out all these "combo classes" and takes away from the adventure. Am I just precieving this wrong? If so, help a guy out please. MAX TO THE CORE!!!

Yeah, I had a situation like this once when I was in the party. My DM nerfed him, killed him, and said if he did that again he might as well just walk out the door. We all looked at him and said the same thing, brandishing our Rapier, Bow and Greataxe repectivly. He got the hint.
