The idea behind the Conduit came from the notion that there weren't enough brave Melee Touch Spellcasters, chargers, or anyone who cared about Bullrush or Overrun. This style of gameplay was to encourage charging and spell casting together as a mechanic and forgo weapon fighting. Rather than giving the Conduit boosts to concentration checks while Spell casting defensively I wanted to give it an AC boost so that the true risk factor of your enemy is a fun, but thrilling threat. A Conduit takes the AoO, doesn't get hit and then blasts a spell right in it's enemies' face.

I still have a lot of work to do, adding all the Touch Spells that are a part of the Conduit's Spell List. I want to double the amount of 1st level spells, but I just haven't had time to do such a thing. Hopefully when I get it all finished it will have it's own spell list. I am planning on giving it Divine and Arcane spells because it can only do Melee Touch Spells. The basis is that the spell must come from melee touch.

Let me know what you think. I would love feedback on this Class idea. Is it too powerful? Is it too weak? What could I change to fill out this class? Are there any errors? I want to hear what you think.
The Conduit
The idea behind the Conduit came from the notion that there weren't enough brave Melee Touch Spellcasters, chargers, or anyone who cared about Bullrush or Overrun. This style of gameplay was to encourage charging and spell casting together as a mechanic and forgo weapon fighting. Rather than giving the Conduit boosts to concentration checks while Spell casting defensively I wanted to give it an AC boost so that the true risk factor of your enemy is a fun, but thrilling threat. For example, in WoW, a particular weapon (that hits many times) might have a 10% chance on each hit to apply a special effect, such as poison damage. When WoW users talk about "how often this weapon procs", they are talking about the likelihood of the special effect occurring."
Nefreet wrote:What a strange word. You would still increase your ki pool by 1 by taking the trait, it just won't happen until 4th level.
Sorry, I guess proc is video game slang rather than tabletop slang. Proc in this case: If I use the drunken ki ability does it activate my Honored Fist ability. It does not. So it doesn't proc.

I'm currently running RotRL for a group that seems to love dying. Only one character even has his original from the first story. I've killed off 2 characters of the same player in one session. Apparently they like my GM style because they keep coming back for more.

The issue is that I just ran Thistletop last session. The PCs attracted the attention of Bruthamus, Orik, and the 2 yeth hounds after they wrapped Lyrie in Manacles and dragged her across the floor, singing songs of their greatness. This ended in a near TPK after everyone, including Shalelu failed their fear will saves. Somehow, half the party barely survived. Shalelu is dead, most of the level 1 floor is dead besides Tentamort, and the alarms were raised. The PCs high-tailed it out of Thistletop after the fight and are regrouping.

Questions

1) Any ideas on what to do with Shalelu dead? Has anyone had her die before?
2) Should I add more monsters to Thistletop? More goblins? Should I have Nualia be aware of her Fortress being assaulted or is it too much?
Hey everyone.
