N N 959, I agree with your entire post.

As someone who has heard Tonya's schedule over the next couple months, I am both jealous and non-envious at the same time. She's extremely booked, and I'm sure she'll answer as soon as she gets done emailing both, or all, sides of this issue to get a full picture.

I have no idea what has happened over in Raleigh, but getting upset at Sarah Marie because she is trying to ensure that the privacy of community members is upheld (Especially with all the emails I'm sure you've all gotten about GPDR and such) will not help anyone out. Give her time to get a reply from Tonya, and for Tonya to figure out how to resolve this issue. This doesn't sound like something that any of the PFS staff will take lightly, and I'm sure an official statement will be made. You need to have some patience.

Also, stop spreading to other outlets. Reddit is not a place to take grievances, ever...

Tonya,

One thing I noticed is that for the overnight slots, everyone stops previous slot at midnight, then HQ shows up 15 minutes after games start and leaves an hour after the GM slot ends. Shouldn't it read 12:30 AM to 6:00 AM to match up with the other slots?
Nope. I had 1 extra hour each day that I couldn't cover because of keeping slots at 5.5-6 hours. Given that GMs are on duty for 5.25 hours, this is the only way to keep it equitable. I'll cover that hour slot, and I'm much more functional at midnight than 6 am! I'm not expecting mustering for midnight slots to be that difficult (this statement is not a challenge!)

I still don't see how having the HQ staff show up after the games start makes sense, but I'm sure you've got it worked out. As I recall, it still took a few people to muster each night at GenCon. But, since I'm trying to volunteer to GM for those slots anyway, I'll be showing up early enough to help out as needed.

Well that's kinda a crappy thing to do as a GM.

Well that's what a lot of GM's do. Just make up some number of minutes their stuff takes (one guy above seems to uses 3 minutes as their default). And unless you're getting into take 20 for searching you'd likely be spending no more than a minute if that in a room. Like detecting magic on 5 items just takes 7 rounds, not even a full minute. So what 2 minutes for 4 people to loot 3 bodies?

So what Ragoz is saying is that he prefers tracking what actions people are doing and using that to decide how long something takes, but he understands the desire some GMs have to just throw out a number that sounded good to them.

This is highly dependent on what the bodies are wearing. If they were wearing heavy armor, that takes 1d4+1 minutes to take off, halved with help. That means it takes 2 people a minimum of a minute, and up to 2.5 minutes, to remove just the armor from that one body. It's 1 minute, or 30 seconds with assistance, for anything less than heavy armor. It takes a move action to remove things from a backpack, so taking out the say 12 items in their pack should take about 36 seconds, and that's just taking it out without trying to figure out what it is. You're right that identifying any magic items is pretty quick, but it's the stripping of belongings that takes several minutes to complete.

To the point of speed-running dungeons, I did Wardens of the Reborn Forge with 2 Monks, a Ranger with a large Wolf, and a Sorcerer. After the first 'level', we said screw it, and just speed-ran the next several 'levels' with Potions of Strong Jaw on the Monks, Fly on the Sorcerer, and Longstrider on the Ranger/Wolf. We looted one item, which set off another encounter, but then went back to collect loot after finishing each 'level'. Doing 7-10 encounters on a 7 minute potion was interesting, as we were chaining sometimes 3-4 fights at once and just wrecking the competition. Doing it with only Greater Infernal Healing ticking, or sometimes a few rounds of wands, was enough to make it a very challenging speed-run. I know we had a few rounds of fainting, followed by waking back up from the Fast Healing 4 a round or two later, as well as one 'almost death'.

2) The artwork you're talking about is for Zoagusk. I believe the author stated, in the other GM thread for this scenario HERE, that Glibledring was originally supposed to be a mutant as well and that it was accidentally left in.

With your WTF moments:
1) Grib doesn't use his Enlarge Person Extract since it hurts his to hit and doesn't affect his damage. He has 3 assistants, but doesn't have the Infusion Discovery.

This is a touchy subject, as it has happened. The people in question have been identified and banned from the campaign. Charity events are one thing, but selling them for personal gain is an outright bannable offense.

As to the original question of this post, the answer has been given multiple times. As a GM for PFS we are required to follow and enforce all PFS rulings from campaign management. Until Tonya's (or a later OPC's) team revisits it, Mike Brock's post stands as a PFS ruling. At this time, the subject is closed. Getting closer to personal attacks on one another is not the way to handle this type of thread. I ask for every one to take a step back, take a breath and calm down. Skill Specialization

Many of the prestige awards and recognitions or resources that faction members purchase allow a character to become specialized in a skill. When a PC becomes specialized in a skill, that skill immediately becomes a class skill for her. If the PC gains that skill as a class skill from any other source (either before or after you purchase the prestige resource), she gains a +1 competence bonus on those skill checks.

As one of the GMs for the "Official Paizo Room", rooms 201-203, this did not happen at our area. We had probably just as many women as men come through. Our reception area was the same 4-5 people (all but myself were women) throughout the con, including Tonya Woldridge herself. I was one of the reception folks for maybe half the con, otherwise GMing for both RPG and ACG. We used only the official pregens, via the "Pregen Binders" that Paizo has printed for their larger conventions. Society rules in play, so no friendly fire, and no crit failures. We ran the new Honor's Echo Quests. If anyone has any complaints regarding this year's Paizo event at PAX, I urge you to please PM Tonya Woldridge, or Louis Manko-Levite who was the event organizer. It is sad to hear that this happened at all, regardless of where, and I do hope that she gives PFS a shot as the structure really does not allow for this type of behavior.

(Note: CR3 Giant Scorpions should not be placed in a level one only adventure. Also that a full roleplay finale will take more than an hour, no matter how slimmed down you try to make it. It took me 45-50 minutes, to walk a group that could not complete the quests due to not coming back to the con on Sun/Mon, talking non-stop through the finale. I asked them only which pregen they'd use and for their choices with NPCs. No dice were rolled during that time. We'd sat our last tables for the night and they wanted to know the rest of the story, so we obliged.)

Would you rather have PCs going tiny, which has been an option since the Core Rulebook came out, or the PCs who go huge? I much prefer the tiny PC, which doesn't take up half of some maps. You can do ridiculous damage with any number of builds in Pathfinder. This one has a cheaper option to do so, but so what? There are ways to do this faster spending less money. Namely the small race 3rd level or higher Unchained Rogue using Reduce Person.
Hell, a Combat Reflexes/Greater Trip/Vicious Stomp Monk gets more attacks in a round, by tripping for their first flurry attack, than any other Monk build. Does that make it overpowered or broken compared to other builds? Nope. A Barbarian or any of the archer builds is still going to consistently out DPR this build.

Fromper, do you have local cons with PF prize support? If you do, have you not seen that you get more players joining the local games after them, than at any other time? After PAX and ECCC, we see a large spike in new players for the past couple of years. Not all of them stick to it, but many do. I've seen our local community more than triple in the past two years, and the spikes are after the larger conventions, like the two above. A big portion of this is due to the prize support. We got way more people to play our games than D&D did, and the three major factors contributing to this were:

- Shorter games (Everyone wants to see what the con has to offer, not just spend)

- Prize support (D&D was only selling books, no free stuff)

- Our criers, calling folks over (Can't get new people if you aren't trying to get them into it)

Share the Wealth (Companions): You may not have been the one it impress a prospective familiar or sentient relic, but your fellow agent who did can introduce you to make the most of the strange allies befriended during an adventure.

As a player, choose one boon earned by one of your characters, and transfer it to another of one of your characters. The recipient's level must be high enough that he could qualify to have played the adventure; he still qualifies if his level is above the adventure's level range. Once this boon is transferred, the original recipient is treated as though she no longer possessed the boon. You can only transfer a boon in this way if it opens up access to a new familiar, animal companion, or similar creature associated with a class feature. Record the boon's name, Chronicle sheet name, and creature type below.
Alternatively, you can transfer access to a unique intelligent item, which the recipient can now purchase. This follows the same restrictions as if you were transferring access to a new familiar type. If the original character had already purchased the intelligent item, she must sell it before the recipient can purchase it.

Without the full story, several people here are not understanding the situation BBT. I spoke with the GM quoting the rules to you last night. The GM in question is wondering how many chronicles your friend has on his -1, which is the only character number your friend has ever put on paper. From what I understand, your friend only plays the same pregen every time, and is still applying credits past 3XP to his now greater than level 1 character. Your friend must make a -2 or -3 after getting 3XP on his -1, or play a higher level pregen. This is an issue with reporting, not with playing pregens. You are required to adhere to the rules of the campaign, even when playing pregens.

Guide to Organized Play, page 21 wrote:

If you play a 1st-level pregenerated character, you can apply the credit to a newly created character of your very own. If you play a non-1st-level pregenerated character, you choose one of your characters to assign the chronicle to at the end of adventure, and then apply the credit to your character as soon as she reaches the level of the pregenerated character played. You may not assign a Chronicle sheet earned with a pregenerated character to a character that was already at the level of the pregenerated character or higher. If you have multiple Chronicle sheets from pregenerated characters, they are applied to your character’s Chronicle sheet stack in the order played when your character reaches the appropriate level, even if this would advance your character several levels. You may also opt instead to apply the Chronicle sheets earned with a non-1st-level pregenerated character to a 1st-level character with the amount of gp gained reduced, and any character specific boons earned must wait to be utilized until the character is of the same level as the subtier on the Chronicle sheet unless otherwise noted. You do not lose access to any of the Prestige Points, or items listed on the Chronicle sheets that were earned during the adventure, but you do forego downtime.

Keep good records of your character and make sure to bring all of your Chronicle sheets to every event or session of Pathfinder Society Organized Play. If you forget your Chronicle sheets, you will be unable to play your character, though you may be able to play a pregenerated character or start another character within Society rules. GMs rely on accurately kept Chronicle sheets to keep the campaign honest, fair, and fun for everyone. So keep your records safe, keep them accurate, and keep them with you when attending Pathfinder Society Organized Play events. (We suggest a binder that can be completely sealed between scenarios.)

Your friend has stated his disinterest of the campaign as a whole, and had his head on the table, as if sleeping, for a large portion of last nights session.

3) The event coordinator receives the form, fills it out expeditiously, and emails it back to "Global Coordinator".
4) "Global Coordinator" uses the form, and his wallmap of 15+ table PFS events, to determine the relative size of your event, and what level of con support it qualifies for.
5) Z days/weeks before the event, "Global Coordinator"/Paizo ships out the physical support materials, and AA days/weeks before the event, emails out/places in your downloads, the electronic support materials.
6) Event occurreth, materials given out, everybody happy! Start planning for the next time.

Taking control of them and raising them are very different, and should be seen as such. Raising them only brings more evil into the world.

I’m writing this as someone with 20+ characters at this point, including a few un-played GM blobs. Running out of low level content is an issue that several players in our area are having. In light of this, I’m making a short guide to re-playable scenarios and modules. It’s very easy, but likely repetitive, to get characters to level 2.2 with these re-playable scenarios/modules.

1 XP each:
#5-09 - The Confirmation (1-2)
#6-10 - The Wounded Wisp (1-2)
First Steps Part 1: In Service to Lore (1)
PF Quests: The Silverhex Chronicles (1, Pregen Only)
Master of the Fallen Fortress (1) [1PP]
We Be Goblins! (1) [1PP]

3 XP Modules:
Crypt of the Everflame (1-2)
The Godsmouth Heresy (1-2)
Murder’s Mark (1-2)
Thornkeep: The Accursed Halls (1-2)
Emerald Spire: The Tower Ruins (1-2)

3 XP Adventure Paths:
AP67 (Reign of Winter) – The Snows of Summer (1-2)
AP79 (Mummy’s Mask) – The Half-Dead City (1-2)

“In Service to Lore”, “Silverhex Chronicles”, “Wounded Wisp”, and “The Confirmation” all allow for 2PP each, while “Master of the Fallen Fortress” and “We Be Goblins!” are Free RPG Day modules which only allow for 1PP. With this method, you’ll likely want the boons available from Confirmation and Wisp, followed by a level one module of your choice. So, you could start at level 2.2 with 6-8 PP depending on how you do this. This means that you’ll only need a single 1-5 game before being able to play in 3-7s.

CariMac,

Sorry to hear you had comments like that directed at you. It can happen from time to time to any of us. Playing up can be difficult, and sometimes frustrating. Players shouldn't tell you that doing something will mess something up, because their characters don't know that even if the player does. Meta-gaming is something that players have to reign themselves in on, so that you don't ruin the experience for others that might have no knowledge on what's going on in the game. I agree that the pre-gens for the Sunday Special were interesting and different.

I did, and it doesn't fall under the linked thread as you aren't re-skinning. You are saying that your Elf is from the Mwangi Expanse, which as per canon is the Ekujae tribes. The Ekujae look nothing like the Drow. They look like the Mwangi or Garundi neighbors as far as skin-tone. Why would the re-skinning thread covering Drow, that only a couple folks even referenced Ekujae, apply to this? Mike's post states no Drow, which are blue-black/purplish-black in skin tone with Silver-white hair.

I have a Dual-Cursed Idyllkin Aasimar Oracle with the Deaf/Wolf-scarred curses. She is "skinned" as being covered in brass dragon scales with a muzzle, looking somewhat like a D&D half-dragon. Everyone that sees her can see her obvious Celestial heritage. This character is perfectly legal because

I'm not re-skinning her, as I'm following canon for her sub-race along with her Oracle curse.

For good measure, here's a link of what an Ekujae half-elf looks like:Link

Don't forget, if you're a Hunter, to give him the Skirmisher trick Cunning Pantomime. The hilarity of a weasel telling the NPC that he should join our cause with Diplomacy is always the right choice!

A gentle, friendly bludgeoning to the skull is also appropriate, in that situation.

Why is this not a catchphrase in our area?

"Excuse me, I'm going to go deliver a GFBS."

My monkbarian does this, but you wouldnt like it...Usually ends up a bloody mess all over the wall, even with non-lethal...Pummeling Style is pretty brutal.

When one of the players announces that he has all the stats for Weapon HP and Hardness so he can Sunder without taking time to look up stats.
Not sure why that is a bad sign. Sunder is great in PFS as it debuffs the enemy and you can still get the weapon/armor off the chronicle sheet. Someone who is prepared to use it quickly would be welcome.

As a GM for a sunder character in our area(while at a con), Sunder is great until you sunder the Barbarian's clubs and they switch to Claw, Claw, Bite all at full BAB instead of Club, Bite-5 and nearly TPK the party.

Small character on a medium sized flying Animal Companion with Wheeling Charge, Indomitable Mount, and alot more shenanigans negated all of the issues you described Daniel. I was even able to act as a party taxi as needed with Muleback Cords and Ant Haul. My attack was often a V shaped dive bomb, almost always granting me the high ground bonus to attack.

Just last night, I was flanked by Kyton-type monsters with only 10 HP remaining. Scorching Ray crits hurt at that level... I called to our Arcanist to Lighting Bolt the lot of us, me included.

"I'm thinking I can Lightning Bolt them, but the monk is in the line..."
"Do it!"
"You sure? I'ts 8d6, and you're only level 5 and hurt pretty badly"
"Do it!"

With a +12 Reflex save and evasion at 5th level, I figured it was the better option than dying to constrict. I either make my save and take nothing or use my reroll to avoid dying to my own tactic. I looked to the GM, said "If I fail both rolls, I'll sit here laughing with you!"

Since I don't have the book Heroes of the Wild, how is that archetype worded?

The unchained summoner qualifies for all existing summoner archetypes, save those that modify the eidolon's type or base form.
If the plant oriented summoner has different style bases it has to bypass that restriction somehow.

The Wild Caller Summmoner is not Unchained Compatable. Bolding mine for emphasis on the wording.

WILD CALLER
(SUMMONER ARCHETYPE)
A wild caller summons creatures from the First World and forges a bond with an eidolon with a plant body.
Plant Eidolon: When a wild caller summons his eidolon, the eidolon’s body is created from extraplanar plant material and imbued with the intelligence of a being from the First World. Its statistics are changed from a standard eidolon as follows.
Type: The eidolon has the plant creature type and extraplanar subtype. Unlike other plant creatures, the eidolon is not immune to mind-affecting or polymorph effects, though it does gain immunity to paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.

Base Form: The wild caller chooses one of the base forms listed below for his plant eidolon. When the eidolon is summoned in an environment matching one of these base forms, the wild caller can choose to change the eidolon’s base form to the matching form by sacrificing one daily use of his summon nature’s ally ability as a free action.

Characters that want to kill Torch actually don't have a clue what's going on.

No, we definitely have a clue about what's going on. Putting up a veneer of helping pathfinders is great, but his true goals leave me cheering for the Red Mantis.

You have the right idea, I like that. Lead the way and my mistress will reward your service.

I'm waiting for someone to make a gunslinger/brawler named Karrin Murphy in our area so we can play those characters together. =D

I live in Federal Way, and it's a 5-ish extra minute alternate route for me to pick someone at the hotel up. I hit up AFK E&E every Thursday as one of the main GM's for our PFS meets there. IMO, it's no big deal to take a few extra minutes out of my way to do this.

As per the wishes of campaign management to not have people pick and choose items based on chronicle rewards, no one should tell you what it does. You will find out when you play the scenario.
