Roldy Heson wrote: Well, I've looked at his main profile, his GM profile and some of his alias and he didn't post on any of them since he left. So from that, we can assume two things. He's either taking a break from the online community or his work contract got extended/renewed. He could have also been offered another contract somewhere else altogether, but that pretty much the same thing as the renew from the one that made him leave. We can only hope that he will come back AND pick this game back up, but like Welkin said, it's starting to look unlikely.
I've kept an eye out for another game like this, but didn't see anything. I know that when Starfinder comes out, I will most likely try to GM the adventure path, so hopefully that will scratch the itch I have for sci-fi game.
Just drop a PM if you want us to join you in starfinder once you start some sci fi gming :)
Kanoe' Yashida wrote: {ahem}... ok it has been 6 months, 10 hours since your last post 'Warlord' are you free to return to running the game now? I'm sure GM would return if he were able to and could get into it again. But sometimes what is decleared dead remains dead sadly.
Let's Destroy the earth then :p
Good luck with you project come back to us I'll check in once in a while :)
"Of course let's scout ahead first. Pick some of your best scouts and spies Sergent."

Welkin opens his comm unit to the Krakens and SGm Riliah. "SGM can you have some troops set up some signs that this area is a potential chemical trapzone. Let's not feed their propoganda machine anymore the needed. Record everything we have done and send it back to the LT for the moment.
We can't deny that they somehow knew we where going here first, so keep communication between the six of us and the LT as little as needed. I suggest a 'minor' change of plans." Welkin calls up an image of the map and plots a new rute to send to the rest to follow his idea. "To not show our hand to soon, I think we have to split up keep some troops and tanks maybe a MS to follow the main path while the rest of us starts hitting towns off the intended rute we were provided. We should find a town suitable to set up a base camp and have our supply chain run through there. I suggest Turuun it might be a good spot to run attacks on both Songino and Tes. We should be able to time it so we attack Songino from three sides at once if the second assault team doesn't encounter to much resistance." He said his idea for the futher conquest of Mongolia.
Welkin has left his suit to check out the govermental building and speaks with Riliah as they go down with some soldiers. "I think SGM that we don't need to add to the propaganda the feddies use ourself for the moment. But I can see your logic and with take it into consinderation, we can't stay here to long but could let the refugee set up camp here if needed as we move towards Songino and...." He is lost for words as they enter the bunker. "This is horrible how can they do something like this, do they have no honor or moral."
He leaves the bunker and pick ups his com unit to call his squad. ++"Krakens we have to consider leveling this town completely the feddies have used chemical weapons on their own, leaving only a puddle of blood and flesh. We might be in danger for meeting the same fate while clearing the town. I'd like your counsel before I might the decision."++
++"SGm agree, lets set up a patroleduty to keep us safe while we secure the town. Do you have any demonitionsexpert with you or do you have to call in those? Let the tanks face towards the way we have to move next, they can deter any small infantry unit from trying anything."++.
Welkin then opens the comm to the other MS only. +"Krakens let's begin clearing the ruble. We need a clear path through this town to setup our supply chain for further expansion, aswell as we have to dig out survivors or corpses for burial outside the town to keep sickness at a minimum. If you perfer not to dig around the ruins, you are free to help the infantry with patroling or clearing the buildings, look for one or multiply big enough to house our suits for recharging."+
Welkin thinks for a moment on what the SGT and Roldy has said. ++"SGT start sending them to the nearest next town, let SGM sort through who she sends away."++
++"Edel, Roldy how does the search go? Are we safe to begin digging around?"++
++"Roger that Kreken-4. Let's search the area, stand ready to return fire as required."++ Welkin prepares his machine cannon and moves into the town to search for enemy combatants.
MS Pilot: 2d6 + 15 - 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 15 - 6 = 15
Awareness/Notice: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 5) + 9 = 15
Welkin is a bit troubled by how the feddies acted on thier own going for a surrender after some thought he opens his com to the Krakens. ++"Focus on securing the area, lay supressive fire when needed. We can dig for survivors after we are safe from feddies taking shots at us. No use to risk our Zakus on digging before we are safe for potshots!"++
++"SGM Riliah do as Ensign Faustus said it was what I was thinking you could do now also. Shoot any who attack you!"++
++"I understand that Riliah, but think on how it looks with us burning and destroying everything. Even if they are hiding in the buildings, it's going to be used as propaganda showing us as monsters destroying everything on our way. It'll increase thier own recruitment. Storm the buildings if you have to, but leave them standing so they have less to rally earth around."++ Welkin responds to the sergeant and prepares to enter combat himself.
"This is getting out of control." Welkin opens his com to first the tank crew and afterwards to the SGM. ++"Magella tanks, stop blasting every single building! Let the civilians get chance to escape, it'll add confusion in the feddies once they get to another town and they have to tend to them. Only return fire towards buildings where you meet resistance."++
++"SGM get the infantry to stop burning every house down! we have to abide but some rules of warfare. The refugee has to escape so they can put extra work on the feddies in other towns."++
He gets on the com to the rest of the Krakens, to give his order to them. +"Krakens aim to capture the main building, return fire whenever needed. Take care of the civilians."+
Comunications: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 4) + 12 = 19
MS Pilot: 2d6 + 15 - 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 15 - 6 = 16
Is there anything big to attack other than the main building?
++"Thanks for the assist SGM. Yes send the infantry let's get the jump on them before they get to organized."++
++"If you can find them Kraken-2 be my guest to shoot them and scare the locals. Either way we have to clear a path through it to make a supply chain later."++
Com/Sensors: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 1) + 12 = 14 Snake Eyes!
++"Already on it Kraken-4"++
Welkin stops his robot and contacts the others: ++"Watch out Krakens, we are about to enter a minefield. Let's not assume to much but the people running across it makes me think it's mines against heavier units and not anti personelmines they buried here."++
++"Avoid trampling on the refugees as much as possible, but don't put thier safety above getting to Naranbulag in a timely manner."++ Welkin says with some pride in his voice as he watches over the fleeing populace, afraid of his MS unit.
Notice TN15: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 = 18
++"Our mission is clear. Take over Naranbulag and spread out to conquer Songino next, Krakens move out!"++ Welkin is not one for big speeches
Welkin looks over the map, "This towns looks like a small payload will trip it all over, should be careful with explosives.
"So we shouldn't expect to much resistance before Songino or Murun? Let's send some refugees running with a few stealth operatives mixed in between to those bigger towns."
"Cerberus 1 this is Kraken 1, we hear you loud and clear. We are ready to begin the assault on Naranbulag." Welkin responds to the LT as his feets touches grounds
"That's a very good idea Zzed, I wasn't sure about the sensors were better on our side or thiers. But I like to make it a night assault to avoid to many civilian casulties, it should also make them panic if they can't see us very well and they might escape in a chaotic manner which we can benefit from. Since we are going to split in to two teams will you take control of the infrastructure assaults, while I and another help support our ground units set up a base and make a supply chain?"
Unless i misunderstood it, the 90mm is one handed? and as such you should be able to use your shield while shooting, thought that as good when you don't have any support with you
Welkin was about to say something but Kanoe' cut him short and took to some degree his idea. ++"Ensign Yashida, I admire your feiry initative and lust for combat. But normally we allow the one designated as leader to speak his idea first before you chime in. Anyway I don't disagree with your plan I was thinking something along that way. I would however send you in the 3 man team so that the team have MS with both the 120mm and a 90mm machine guns, while the 2 man team easily can both carrie the 120mm gun when taking the ground support into account."++
He thinks for a moment before adding ++"Hopefully we should have pushed the feddies out where the second team can come and make a pincer maneuver and force them to flee. Any suggestions to the plan or team composition?"++
Danm Kanoe' now you ruined what I've been thinking all morning on how we should attack this stage of the story.
My idea was along that line so I wont say anything for now, as it would just sound like a repeat.
At the very least I need to clear my head and think of a new post to make, I'll try to do within the hour.
So you want to send 3 MS to Zavkhan and the other 2 begin to move closer to Songino? IS that understood right?
I think we should move to Songino first and gain control of that to make a supply chain?
If you agree I will move this into the gameplay tread.
What do you think of going to the first town along the green line (I can't see it's name) before we start to make smaller hit and runs on the towns on the way to Murun?
Or should we go straigth for Murun and save the hit and run strategy for after it's fall on the way to the capital instead?
I took 2 sturm faust but otherwise kept my gear as it was untill I can get some decent melee upgrades.
++"All is ready LT. preparing to move on your command."++ Welkin is exicted to get on his first real mission and compare it to the simulation.
Welkin salutes Lt. Dahvana adn then he begins to clean up after them.
Once they are done he goes straight to the hangar check on his Mobile Suit ++"This is Kraken-01 Ensign Katsuya, powering up to check all systems are operational and calibrated properly for earth gravity."++
End TN18: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1) + 9 = 14
athletics TN15: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (4, 5) + 13 = 22
End TN20: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 2) + 9 = 17
athletics TN18: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 5) + 13 = 21
Welkin does his best to follow the others, but endurance has never been his strong suit.

Welkin gets closer to Kanoe's location during the endurance test for a quick talk: "Sometimes Ensign Yashida pretending to not want even a temporary promotion, like you asked them to give me, will be remembered later when they are actual ready to promote one of us. It's a sign of not being power hungry and leadership to know when to accept and when to refuse a promotion. I mean no offense towards you, I'm just playing the 'game'."
End TN15: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 5) + 9 = 18
End TN15: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4) + 9 = 19
End TN15: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1) + 9 = 12
Athletics TN10: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (6, 5) + 11 = 22
Welkin fails the last endurance test but quickly cowers that up with his athletic skills. As Kanoe' stumbles on her test, he offers his hand to help he get up. "You don't have to push yourself to do all our punishment. You might have gotten us into this test or maybe we were meant to do it all along and you just gave the excuse LT needed to start the test. Put all your willpower into the mission to come so we can come back alive!"
"Does below average mean that it might be slow to follow us if we split and run circles around it?"
"How are their mobility? Are the gunmount/cockpit able to turn a full 360 or can a fast unit sneak up behind and cut them into pieces with a heat hawk?" He says listening to the others.
He doesn't give much thought about being promoted right now "It's fine Ensign Kanoe', they'll know I'll be the one to decide what we do with our unit, unless we get direct orders from Lt. Dahavana to follow the other forces. Promotions should only be given to those who have earned it, not to anyone who assume the mantle of leadership for a MS unit." He responds to her question before the LT. "I know what happens when someone not deserving it gets a random promotion. Chaos!"
I don't have any more to say at the moment
"So kinda remove the 'head' and the rest should stop functioning properly, I'll remember that it might save my life out there if we run into one while be separated."
Once they are done at the doctors he returns with Kanoe to their assigned quarters. He responds to Zzed and turns he attention on them all, "I was thinking soemthing along that line Zzed. We should make sure we have our equipment and prepare our suits for moving out asap when we get the orders to do so. But first dinner, does anyone care to accompany me for the last decentish meal we get in some time? After this it's all rations untill we have taken Neryugri."
CET 8.30 AM to roughly 23.00 PM with a break between 4PM-6PM where I travel home from work and the connection on the train is very bad.
Welkin let's Kanoe' lead him for the time being, better to get to know this earthoid. "I see thier armor is to much for our unit's long range capability, just the same I prefer to get up close and personal when fighting. Where you you say it's fastest to carving up those cruisers to incapacitate it?" he asks on the way to the physical
On the way into the medic clinic. "Ew I hate needles why is this nessecary every time... How much medic and examnitaions did you have to go through coming from earth and enlist with Zeon?" Welkin is curious since he never met one to join Zeon from earth before.
He hands the doctor the paperwork. "Ensign Welkin Katzuya ready for physical, as much as I can be stupidn needles." the last part he adds in a low voice mostly meant for himself.
I'll get right on it once I catch upKanoe, but most of you post while I sleep so the morning goes with reading through most of the time 6+ posts and then I responds :)
"That sounds comforting Yashida, but still we have to get close to them without to much damage to do that. But maybe a good concentrated and focused machinegun fire might also do the trick in crippling it?"
Welkin salutes Lt. Dahvana "Ma'am, Welkin Katzuya at your service"." He lets Zzed takes the paperwork as he already has reached out for it "I'll lead the others straight to HQ and get registered and our physical. I have to admit I never heard that these mobile cruisers should exist, heard the rumors but it sounded to strange to believe before now."
I did expect that but wanted to have the cleared for future rolls.
My paizo stopping showing when there is new posts in the gameplay tread, but I hope it was just a minor bug this morning and not something that persists.
Welkin pilots his mobile suit to the hangar area and greets the man waiting for them. "Greetings Reddok, are you here to show us to the commander?"
MS Pilot: 2d6 + 15 - 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 15 - 6 = 16 Do we put the MV penalty in on this skill?
Welkin ignores that Kanoe salutes the LT. And as Reddok explains wehre they are going he just follows him to the command, and he cna't help but look up at the commanders suit "Purple is not really my color, but I'd like to have that kind of command and acknowlodgement from the higher ups.
Welkin steps out of the shuttle seeing the others going straight for thier own mobile suits he finds his own and starts it up and responds to the rest. "Kraken-1 is ready will contact MesCom and find our hanger asap. Stand by to move."
Welkin sets his comunit to the frequency to the command "MesCom, Ensign Katzuya here reporting my mobile suit squad arrived on earth and functioning. What is our hanger-number where we can prepare the suits for full on combat? Also where do we find the MS Command to report once we are ready?"
I know but I always feel lost when the momentum is high, but it might fit him letting others do the talking while he think on the overall plan.
I try to post when I have those small breaks at work and then once I'm home again and look in along the evening.
Sorry had a lost connection to the internet will try and catch up before I head to bed in one hour :)
I will try to be the leader a new role for me to fill
"That idea makes alot of sense, but we should stop it if the risk gets to great and focus our effort on the main target after that. To Kaskhstan Sieg Zeon!"
"Ready to set out when the rest of you are!" Welkin responds, not really joining the the salute at this point, waiting for the commanders to issue it.
Welkin has kept himself in the background for the most of the breifing, but he finally speaks up. "Hit and Run on smaller different towns can be a valid strategy, and we don't have to destroy the towns or kill civilians. We can focus on demolish smaller units stationed at those towns and leave once they are dealt with leave the civilian casualty to a minimum and still spread the defense.
If they think we are aiming for multiply cities at once they may focus thier defenses on the wrong town and leave Neryugri understaffed. A bonus point is we don't force them to avoid collateral, and while we move along the citylines they are sure to not use high explosives or artillery to attack us with."
So I have 9 int and 1 point in each skill, that would send me on a 20.
