There are a lot of comments about the scenario changing, and I don't know whether I played or GMed the unrevised or revised version.

The scenario is a mediocre scenario as a repeatable, and well below average for a non-repeatable. The maps feel unnecessary, and the combat is non-existent until it suddenly insta-perma-kills characters. It's fine as an introductory scenario for newer players, so long as the GM takes the hardest edge off the final encounter.

Easily my favorite scenario of Season 1, and the only non-repeatable I'd consider GMing multiple times (even if I didn't get credit).

[X] Interesting NPCs to interact with.
[X] Mix of skill and combat.
[X] Cohesive plot.
[X] Requires planning / strategizing.
[X] Character accomplishes something that they can feel good about.

This is a well-written scenario with a lot of challenging combats. My only gripe is that it was really designed to run long - I don't see any way to make it shorter than the 6.5 hours it took us (with a few corners cut). In contrast, the other very long scenario (#1-18) is compressible.

I felt tension all the way through, which is excellent, and the end fight felt like it was the culmination of everything that happened (which is not always the case).

If this were a non-Society adventure where people didn't play at game stores with a hard closing time, I would easily give it 5 stars. I intend to run this on PbP so the time won't matter as much.

3/5

It's a fine repeatable scenario, but it's definitely not as well-thought or coordinated as a non-repeatable scenario. I played it once and then GMed it once, and don't feel compelled to do either again.

If I GM it outside of Society, I'd definitely embellish the story and link the parts together with an overall arc.

I loved that this was a true two-parter, and was able to play it as such for the full experience.

I thought that this half was too easy, though - at no point did I really feel like my character was in danger. The fight that got cut off kind of annoyed me - there should either be more rounds allowed (to allow an unscripted resolution) or the fight needs to be more challenging (to welcome the scripted resolution).

Overall, though, it's a fun story, and a good mix of challenges.

I loved that this is a true two-parter, and played it as such to get the full experience.

It is a particularly brutal lead-up into the final fight, but I like that in the Tier 3-6 scenarios. We lucked out in the final fight crit-wise, but it still felt like an epic fight, one that I can imagine my character telling stories about at the pub.

I don't really like the way the story ended, in the sense that the fate of the people on the island is not well-described. I didn't get the sense that my character accomplished something other than getting XP and gold.

I basically started doing reviews just so I could review this scenario.

There's a lot of potential to go wrong, so I knew there would be a lot of 1-star reviews. I disagree with those.

1) The scenario is long, for sure. As a matter of fact, to really play the whole thing out would probably be closer to two 4-hour sessions. That's really my only gripe, and only if the GM doesn't warn people. My GM warned us, we hurried wherever possible, and we "only" took 5.5 hours.

2) The construction can get boring if people aren't organized. My GM was organized and we easily stayed engaged through the whole thing.

3) There's a whole roleplaying bit that everyone seems to skip for time, but it's actually really fun. There's a lot of things packed into the NPC descriptions.

4) The end combat was very difficult for us in high tier, but it didn't feel punitive. I agree the other two are very forgettable.

A linear, but fun, scenario with some interesting setups for the combat encounters.

Very fun.

5/5

This scenario has got it all and high roleplaying/fun potential. I brought a face so I didn't miss all the combats we avoided.

It was fine.

4/5

I don't understand how this would be fun to repeat, but it's a fine scenario. It's a nice balance of fighting and social encounters.

Yes, the combats are hard, like just about every other 3-6 scenario.
