This means that I'll be able to take another feat and I came across the Boon Companion.

Prerequisites: Animal companion or familiar class feature.

Benefit: The abilities of your animal companion or familiar are calculated as though your class were 4 levels higher, to a maximum effective druid level equal to your character level. If you have more than one animal companion or familiar, choose one to receive this benefit. If you lose or dismiss an animal companion or familiar that has received this benefit, you may apply this feat to the replacement creature.

Special: You may select this feat more than once. The effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a different animal companion or familiar.

I have seen multiple threads talking about it, however I've not seen an exact clarification on if it helps or not in terms of the companion.

The current rough draft plan for my 9th level advancement would cause the character to have the following classes.

4 Levels of Archaeologist (Bard Archetype)
1 Level of Fighter
3 Levels of Pathfinder Chronicler
1 (Planned) Level of Hunter

With the level of hunter I would gain access to an Animal Companion. Boon Companion would allow me to have an Animal Companion calculated as 4 levels higher than it is. Thus I see that I would be a 9th Level Character with a 5th Level Animal Companion.

Is this correct? Or would I be better off without taking the level in Hunter / is it a waste to take the level in hunter and the boon companion feat?
Last night I just got the 1xp I needed to level up my Pathfinder Chronicler from 8th to 9th.
At no point was I rude at the table. The GM running the session approved my action and had no problem with how it was done as it was done in character with the proper roll.

I can also say that even if our Paladin was down, I still would have hit him with the wand to bring him back up as we lacked a dedicated healer. For some reason at the time I was the only person whom had any type of healing item on them, the other being our Wizard whom always used the wand in combat rather than waiting when we were out of combat.

Telling the player that his Paladin register as Evil was done ooc. There was no ill will towards them.

1. I let the person using the 7th level Paladin Pregen die, thus causing his 1st level character to die when it reached 7th level.

They can hold their breath twice as long as normal, and spellcasters gain a +4 racial bonus on concentration checks when attempting to cast spells underwater. This racial trait replaces skilled.

In terms of leveling up, I was looking at possibly taking the Sea Reaver archetype at 3rd level. They have the Marine Terror ability which provides them with the following.

A sea reaver can hold her breath for a number of rounds equal to four times her Constitution score. In addition, a sea reaver can move normally though squares of standing water or bog that is 1 foot deep. It does not cost her extra movement to traverse these terrains. Lastly, a sea reaver ignores the normal cover bonus to AC when attacking creatures that are partially immersed in water. This ability replaces fast movement.

At fourth level it states that a medium sized beast rider can choose a mammoth (mastodon) as a mount. The 7th level states you can choose a large or huge sized animal provided that it was available as medium size at 7th level.

The stat block on animal companions had the mastodon/elephant as a medium creature at the start (which makes no sense as this means in Pathfinder a horse is somehow larger than a mammoth) which isn't large size until 7th level.

My questions are.

At 4th level, with the cavalier being able to choose a mastodon as a mount, would it be size large or size medium?

If it is size medium, would the beast rider be able to get it at 7th level or does the convoluted wording prevent the medium sized beast rider from having a mastodon until prestiging into the Mammoth Rider class at 10th level and only being able to use that mount for 2 levels?
I have been thinking of making a Cavalier, and the Beast Rider Archetype caught my eye.
In no way, shape or form, should it ever be the responsibility of the writers whom are creating an adult scenario; to be the ones to censure it properly. I know that there are many people whom likely copy print or just type out a page of their feats and special abilities or otherwise needed information. Yet for me, I feel like I connect with my character on a deeper level when I put the time in to grab a pen and some paper and write out the Feats, Special Abilities, etc etc.

I had mainly poised in for the roleplay part because I had a character idea to tie into my main character, Trade Prince Velarrio Ileor-Blakros the Faceless.

The idea revolved around him, over the years, regaling the tales of being a Pathfinder to his younger sister Izora Ileor (whom I made and just got 2xp on her this weekend). These tales inspired her to become a Pathfinder and follow in her older brother's footsteps.
It was fun though that I got to play her in the Goblinblood Dead and Emerald Spire: The Tower Ruins.
Thank you everyone for your help with my question.
