I only joined partway through, but this has been a wonderful adventure with really good writers that have inspired me to step up my game. XD I didn’t feel the weapon-level pinch as badly as some folks, but I think a large part of that was due to the solar weapon scaling automatically. That being said, I’m also needing to put more time into things outside of the forums and won’t have the bandwidth to pick up another game (no matter how much I would like to). Vek hands Astrianna her helmet. “The point of it all is what you make it,” he offers calmly, his own helmet removed to reveal a head without any greasy hair. “And you’ve made it possible for countless other individuals to make those choices for themselves as well. You might not always agree with their choices…” He pauses, remembering the sight of a lone figure on a command deck full of cybernetic zombies.

I love the flaming fist, and the coloration on the scales is lovely!

Vek looks at the doshko in his hand, then back up at Cueta. He watches her calmly as she speaks with everyone else. Once they all have left, he claps her shoulder with one hand.

“You have been a guiding light, Cueta, even when in eclipse. I would give all the doshkos in the Veskarium to feel the warmth of your star on my skin once again, but it is a lucky warrior who gets to choose when to die. May your final voyage lead you to victory, and may your soul find peace in the vastness of space.” He salutes her as one would salute a general. “It has been an honor to serve with you.”

He does not look back as he heads towards the escape pod and the other Starfinders. What is done… One hand touches the weapon haft as if on its own. …is done.

Vek winces as his sound dampeners don’t kick in for a second. The turret twitches slightly as his hand involuntarily jerks the joystick controller, but he quickly re-orients it towards the de generator that is rapidly filling the viewscreen. He knows it’s a futile effort given the superweapon’s defenses, but he still programs all available weapons to fire repeatedly.

Maybe it’ll stretch the shielding, make the impact more… impactful. The beak can’t help but grin - both at the pun and the music continuing to make the floors vibrate. He waits for everyone else to clear the bridge before following them to the escape pods. Who would’ve thought that you’d end up here?

Vek turns the turret’s joystick to the side, tracking the massive ship off the port side. Again he pushes button after button, not caring that the ammunition indicators are depleting rapidly. Won’t matter soon.

Vek grins at the sheer number of missiles and guns available from the gunnery zombie’s station, though the smile fades as he notes just how many of them create destructive blasts of negative energy.

My hunch is that the negative energy weapons will be ineffective against the opposing undead ships, but maybe I’m wrong?

As the ships move slowly into position, the vesk gleefully pushes button after button on the console. “Firing broadside - all forward guns and turrets!”

Cueta, do you want to drive the giant undead dreadnaught? I could understand that being distasteful for you and your passenger, but it's also your turn to drive (Vek did the shuttle here) and I feel like it should be you as the longer-playing pilot. XD

If you don't want to drive, just let me know and Vek'll make it work. Otherwise he'll head to the gunnery station.

Vek is more muted in color than his profile picture suggests, but still in blues and greens. If the artist wants to add blue flames around Vek’s fist, that’d be cool too. (Don’t try to tell me Astrianna wouldn’t make him do that for a publicity photo XD)

Vek’s military training is the only thing that keeps him from flinching when the explosion of fire is followed by an explosion of sparkling dust. But he knows an opportunity when he sees one. Once more he bounds into the air, punching twice before floating back down to the deck!

I’m not certain if Astrianna can use Get ‘Em now that he’s mostly visible, so I’ve left it out of the rolls. Also, the wormholes will be closing after this round.

Vek floats back down to the ground like a vesk-sized feather. As soon as his feet touch the deck, the flames surrounding his fists wink out of existence. He closes his eyes.

There’s too much smoke! Commander, we can’t see anything!

Then stop looking and start listening!

The memory of combat on a burning extraction drill fades, but the lesson remains. If your eyes aren’t serving you, use your other senses. A pillar of sunfire erupts, diffusing and expanding to cover each Starfinder in a layer of shimmering blue flame. The vesk’s eyes open, and he stares at Cueta on the ceiling. Hands curl into fists, starlight curling around them like gloves. Soon…

Move action and 1 RP spent to activate Versatile Fighting, giving Vek the Blind-Fight feat for a minute. Standard action to use Stellar Acceleration to give everyone (except Astrianna?) haste for 1 minute.

Apologies, I couldn’t help myself. Vek can use the Defy Gravity revelation as a move action to gain a fly speed for the round to get to the ceiling, then Gravity Boost to walk on the ceiling (which requires an Athletics check to stay there and not fall). Let me know if you see problems with this course of action - the revelation descriptions aren’t quite exact on how they’d interact.

Grimly the vesk focuses on the space between stars. Twelve points of light. Twelve swathes of darkness surrounding them. One dark is much like another, hmm? Fold them together, bridge the gap. With an uncharacteristic gasp, the warrior cries out and the cold light around his hands winks out.

Let's put them kinda in the middle of each group of Starfinders on either side of the wall - trying to not place them right next to an enemy that could make life difficult for someone passing through. Only members of the Starfinder Society can use the wormholes, and they'll last for 6 rounds. After that, Vek will take another Guarded Step to force the monk into provoking another AoO. If the AoO this round was enough to down it, Vek will remain in place and activate Gravitic Reinforcement to boost his saving throws before creating the wormholes.

Rather than waste time clarifying, the vesk lights his fists on fire - possibly for the last time - before hurtling through the aftermath of the grenades to punch the hulking monstrosity.
