I wasn't able to find answers to these related questions in the FAQs or previous posts:

1) a character has readied an action to sunder or disarm (doesn't matter which for this argument, I think) when an enemy approaches them. The enemy moves to attack and the sunder/disarm attempt succeeds. If the enemy has at least +1 BAB but lacks the Quick Draw feat, can they draw a backup weapon as part of the move action they used to close and attack that round, even though the move action is done?

2) What if the character is using a reach weapon? Can the enemy draw a backup weapon as part of their as-yet incomplete move action, and attack that round?

3) Does the answer to 2) change if the character is making the sunder/disarm attempt as an AoO with a reach weapon?

Ben Bova, author of over 100 books and editor of Analog from 1971 to 1977, has died of COVID pneumonia and stroke. He was 88.

Apparently, when Lucasfilms sold the Star Wars rights to Disney, the sale included the rights to all of the books, including Alan Dean Foster's novelization of Star Wars: ANH and _Splinter of the Mind's Eye_, the first SW tie-in novel. When Disney bought 20th Century Fox, the sale included the rights to ADF's novelizations of Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3.

Disney has not paid him any royalties even though all of these are still in print, claiming that "they have purchased the rights but not the obligations of the contract."

This is probably going to get ugly. I have to say I am not impressed by Disney's argument here--Foster's contract apparently includes assignees, and AIUI that's Disney's status wrt the contracts between Foster and Lucasfilms/20th Century Fox. Anyone with a real legal background want to weigh in?

Several years ago, the various General Discussion subfora here were being inundated with spam from Pacific Rim countries. That was when Paizo added "Spam" as an option when flagging posts, among other defenses. (The defenses aren't perfect...the boards have DR vs. spam, not immunity.)

Anyway, at the time we were advised--when we found spam threads--to flag them and move on. It was harder to remove a spam thread with replies on it; IIRC, it was because a spam thread with no replies would automatically go away when they nuked the originating account, but if it had replies from real people those replies had to be individually deleted. AFAIK that's still the case, so when you see a spam thread don't reply to it. Paizo doesn't have enough admins to keep up with the important stuff...we shouldn't be making more work for them.

ETA: revised title at CrystalSeas' excellent suggestion.

One of my non-Organized Play characters, at this profile, has somehow had its profile overwritten with this OP character's. Ordinarily I would chalk this up to my being clumsy with a cut-and-paste, but it's not just the "About <character name> window that was overwritten--it was the character statistics and the header, too. Even a CTRL-A won't copy that way. Can the old profile for the character be restored? Has this ever happened to anyone before?

In the Core rules, three backgrounds give you the Assurance skill feat: Farmer, Nomad, and Scholar. The first two specify the skill you gain Assurance in (Athletics and Survival, respectively). Scholar specifies that you're trained in your choice of the four magical skills, and that you "gain the Assurance skill feat in your chosen skill."

If a Bard takes the Scholar background, e.g., they get the Occultism skill from their class. Per the rules, then, they can take a skill of their choice from their background. Do they gain the Assurance skill feat in that skill, even if it's not one of the four skills listed in the Scholar background?

I'm assuming not, since choosing a background comes before choosing a class in the formal character generation process. That is, the not-yet-a-bard takes Occultism from the Scholar background first, gets Assurance with that skill, and then gets their choice of a skill to replace Occultism with when they pick their class.

Via Kickstarter, anyway. Yes, Starlin is returning to his 80s-era Epic Comics title with a new adventure for the first time in over thirty years--see the Kickstarter HERE. I still have my originals packed away somewhere, and I am very much hoping that it doesn't suck (as, unfortunately, has happened with other creative works revisited by the author many years later).

I have two Core PFS characters, and neither of them allows me to edit their displayed faction. All of my other OP characters (PF1 standard, PF2, SF) provide the option to change faction; it's just the Core characters that don't. How can I resolve this?

I never played much RuneQuest, back in the day, but its success indicated that there was a considerable market for non-Gygaxian RPGs. Rest in peace, sir. You made a lot of peoples' lives more enjoyable, and that is no mean feat.

Between the time I got the notification that #4898753 was in the queue and the time I got the notification that it'd been finalized, I subscribed to Starfinder (that was #4798106). When I placed the Starfinder subscription order I put it into my sidecart, intending that Pact Worlds would be shipped with #4898753. When I got the shipment email for #4898753, though, Pact Worlds wasn't included. Two questions: first, would it have been if I hadn't put the subscription order into my sidecart? Second, when will Pact Worlds be shipped?

I inadvertently deleted my first Starfinder Society character, and if possible would like it restored so that I can use the starting character boon. Thank you!

I don't know whether the Pliocene Exiles Saga is still popular; I read it in the 80s, and enjoyed it quite a lot. After the Galactic Milieu trilogy was completed I pretty much stopped reading her books, but it looks like she wrote another couple of trilogies after that.

TMZ is reporting that Tom Petty was found unconscious and in full cardiac arrest. They're also saying he's been taken off of life support. Have seen no other independent reports.

My wife was going through the candidates for our local city council election the other night, and stopped to ask me and our son if either of us had ever heard of Legendary Games. One of the candidates listed their occupation as Business Director at Legendary Games. What's the name, I asked. Rachel Ventura, she replied.

Yes, that's right. Blonde Frog is running for city council. Small world, eh? I'm not sure of the wisdom of voting for someone who lists their occupation as thief, though I'll give her points for honesty.

The crunch: 15 point build, one free variant multiclass, two traits, no 3PP material, would prefer that you stick to races that could plausibly be picked as caravan guards in the backwoods of Taldor (not that you'll be guarding any caravans, but that's the easiest justification for how you come to be in the adventure), unchained summoner and rogue, and some feat condensations & eliminations:

Power Attack, Weapon Finesse, Piranha Strike, and Combat Expertise can be used by anyone who meets the prerequisites.
Dodge & Mobility are combined into a single feat (+1 dodge bonus to AC at all times, increasing to +4 vs. AoOs when moving).
Two-Weapon Fighting increases in benefit to Improved Two-Weapon Fighting when the prerequisites of the latter feat are met.

There may be others, as well.

This is PFS campaign mode, so you'll all get chronicle sheets that you can apply to an existing PFS character.

Last but not least, I have only three players so far. Do any of you know of someone who might be interested in playing? I'd like to keep it to four characters.
