I still assert and think that my point stands that a lot of people are super hung up on the idea that sexuality is in itself a virtue and are misconstruing themes that involve it as imparting "goodness" onto big C. Beyond self-preservation and a subjective interpretation that sex=good there is very little else left in her lore that makes her complicated if anything he's a blunt tool and her main benefit to the setting is that she brings a kind of forbidden sex appeal to a game that is otherwise supposed to be mass market consumable and family-friendly.[ /snip ]
Eunaya Alumari wrote:Cole Deschain wrote: Calistria… …without causing too much real-life depression.

The better question is what benefit there is in NOT continuing to make new remaster books, of which I think there are very few and the only one I can think of is that it would be easier and less expensive (in the very short term) to simply issue errata for incompatible content and books like SoM and basically every other non-remaster book and set up a new print run for it versus the cost of creating entirely new books that fix all that stuff and repackage it.

Issuing errata costs them time and money while at the same time doing very little to increase revenue even IF they do end up putting out new print runs of old books with fixed applied to them, on the other hand, no matter WHAT content it includes a new book will always generate an order of magnitude more income than a new printing of an old/existing one even if MOST people who own the book that some/most of the content that is included in the remaster book that it was lifted from never buy the remaster book.
The primary benefit, from the standpoint of the business, would be that they're making a new book and can generate income from it and at the same time shed OGL connections with their baby, they only spent millions of dollars, delayed almost all of their product lines, probably canceled some number of projects outright, and pivoted an entire department to create and support the remaster.

The only bones that have any meaningful live marrow content in them are live ones or at the very least bones that belonged to a VERY recently deceased creature. You CAN get cuts of meat with cross sections of bone in them with cold/frozen preserved marrow that is perfectly good for ingesting but that is still no more alive than the meat it's attached to.

So, unless the poppet was JUST created, I'm talking crafted out of raw materials from a very fresh kill in the past 1-2 days, then the marrow would have long rotted away and even then, assuming that marrow rot would harm such a poppet in the first place would imply that the poppet would suffer, take damage, or even die because it was made with such raw wet bone material as it naturally dries out and the tissue dies which I don't think is ... quite right.

Since there aren't any kind of mechanical rules, traits, or other guidance relating to skeletal systems you have to infer the intended meaning (something I actually despise doing most of the time but here it is not reasonable for the game or rules to be thorough enough to flesh this out [not sorry]) from the words they used to describe it.

Now, I could envision someone going out of their way to make a SUPER edgy poppet that was JUST created prior to them picking up the character that IS made from freshly slain creature bones and perhaps even giving them a really macabre need and personality trait that the PC feels the need to constantly replace parts of their body to replace dry bones with wet ones on some grounds that their bones drying out actually physically or mentally causes them some great pain (or inversely they're addicted to the pain of their bones drying out) but that's not exactly in the same ballpark as the normal poppet which is described as being made of more traditional materials.... so I guess a player and GM could manufacture a scenario where applying those effects to it could make sense but that would be more than a little bit contrived.
Not to fire back at you or be rude but I don't think you know what marrow is, it's not simply bone or even the stuff inside the outer casing of bone, it's the living fatty tissues inside of bone that manufacture blood.

It has the usual stuff, a free DURING SCHOOL trip to the local Arcade to play anything they want for a full hour, a couple of bicycles, some tokens for the book vending machine, uniform free day passes, that kind of stuff but on top of that the first place prize for every classroom is entry for the bike plus arcade trip prize drawing is one "GameBoy Video Game Player" which has me MAJORLY scratching my head.

Nintendo hasn't produced a "GameBoy" in over a decade... are they giving away ancient hardware for which you'd have to buy hard-to-find cartridges, some kind of Temu knock-off emulator handheld, or are they actually giving out ten Switches? I don't know, and frankly, I'm not exactly comfortable calling the school up to talk to the Principal to ask about it because, well, that's embarrassing for me as well as them. I'm sure there are a ton of kids at the school who have already been confounded by it too because they'd certainly know better and aren't old enough to feel awkward calling out the staff.

It is a GREAT school, I love the staff and leadership (the principal is a fully sleeve tatted up wiccan hippie who pours WAY more time and money into the job than is actually required) but looking at that reminds me just how much of the world is still run by out of touch boomers. I mean, it's not the biggest thing in the world, certainly, it shouldn't be for educators but the fact that a two-page, nicely made pamphlet for a formal contest went out advertising for a giveaway of such a far-fetched prize is just strange to me and showcases just how "alone" the staff is in actually creating and organizing stuff for the school as they clearly didn't have anyone under the age of 50 even glance at the material before it was put up online and in the backpack of every student.

It wouldn't bother me so much but my daughter punches WAY above her weight in terms of academics and reading, as it stands now her standardized test scores and educational development grade for reading and writing (except handwriting neatness) are in the range they expect of 3rd-grade students by halfway through the schoolyear and she's the youngest 1st grader in the school so if we stay on top of it and she focuses on it (which is the HARD part as she inherited the family generation curse of ADHD) then she will VERY likely be in the running to win the "GameBoy Video Game Player" prize for her classroom so it's like this floating question mark of an itch that I'm just not prepared to make a phonecall or email to try to clarify.
So, March is reading month and as usual, my daughter's elementary school sent home contest materials related to student reading goals and also prize giveaways for all of the top readers in the school with prizes for each class as well.

I've long griped that the system could have been soo much better if they only hired some CS programmers as consultants to find, provide feedback, and insert solutions for the numerous holes created by the reliance on rule 0 which, in my opinion, was a mistake and was a cop-out to avoid having to force more consistency across the rules and reduce crunchiness.

In addition to that the devs would need to fix the problem relating to the "Action, Actions, action, actions" as well as the "Attack, Attacks, attack, attacks" phrasing and probably differentiate each of their meanings with brand new phrasing as well as make a ton of decisions based on what each rule that uses those terms mean for the actual game, these are all things that have been left unfixed and up to table variation but that cannot exist in a video game.

They'd need to cook up a whole new and greatly expanded set of Skill functions, Feats, and Abilities that correct the feels-bad-man friction relating to just how underwhelming and forced those systems currently are, again, largely due to just how much the game leans into "ask your GM" to help lubricate improvising checks to make sense for the context your characters find themselves in.

Lastly, they'd need to do something about the Medicine Skill uses and feats related to it because if converted into a game it would essentially necessitate that the first thing ANY combination of party members would have is someone who spent their early Skill Training and Feats into that for easy and reliable out of combat healing that consumes no resources. I'd personally suggest that those few options should just be made baseline functions of the Medicine Skill at Trained and offer Expert or higher level Feats that help improve them for those who wish to specialize in it as that goes most of the way toward killing that necessary feeling Feat Tax.
The system is in GREAT shape to make for a good video game but for it to work as software at least a good 50% of the system would need to be polished, tweaked, and overhauled to tighten the belt on mechanics and eliminate vagueness and GM fiat which would be a big task since the majority of Traits are "guidelines" and don't often actually spell out exactly how they should be applied, especially when it comes to creature types but MOST of that could probably be handled well enough by the...Themetricsystem2024-02-27T16:23:50ZRe: Forums: Rules Discussion: Sanctificaton and You: A Guide by Captain MorganThemetricsystemhttps://paizo.com/threads/rzs43y1z?Sanctificaton-and-You-A-Guide-by-Captain-Morgan#242024-02-26T23:31:11Z2024-02-26T23:27:18Z
Are you talking about Evil as in, their Alignment, or Evil as in the Trait?
I think a lot of people are conflating some of us saying that the Aura being visible and making Stealth, at least in some circumstances, harder with assertions that the Aura prevents you from using Stealth or it even applying penalties which isn't something that I think anyone is actually saying.

Also, I think some here might getting their rules for the size of the Aura a bit muddled and are thinking that it's 10 ft across in total when that is NOT the case, the Aura is 25 ft wide and extends another 10 ft ABOVE the Kineticist as well which is a HUGE difference. It's about the size difference between a baseball and volleyball but scaled up, they're the same shape but the volume they take up is vastly different.

The Aura wouldn't stop anyone from using Stealth to Hide for the purpose of taking Cover/Concealment and gaining all the associated benefits of it or to even gain the Hidden condition. I WOULD say though that if the 21 squares that surround a Kineticist where the Aura is present aren't ALSO obscured or in some manner repressed for the purpose of senses other than sight that one would have a VERY hard time justifying a situation where the Kin could EVER benefit from the Undetected Condition, Hidden is not problem as that Condition doesn't conceal that the presence of a Creature nor does it protect the hiding Kin from their opponents knowing exactly what Square they are located in since, well, that's what the Hidden condition is.

In other words, the vast majority of uses for Stealth are completely unaffected by the Aura being up but if you're trying to use Stealth to ensure that you cannot even be Detected and your Aura is up you'd need to be sure you are COMPLETELY enclosed in a space that does not permit the Emananation to spilling outward; examples being hiding inside of a barrel with the top closed over it would be fine but hiding under a table with a tablecloth over it wouldn't pass the sniff test as it would be easily noticiable as the Emanation would flow out underneath the cloth and appear extremely suspicious even if its just an Air Kin as the tablecloth would obviously be moving due to the swirling chaotic air and that's the BEST case scenerio.
Deriven Firelion wrote:It is not a prohibition on Stealth. Trying to argue that just because the emanation is that large doesn't mean that it extends that full space is utter nonsense on the caliber of saying that an emanation of light doesn't actually extend out to the full reach of the effect. The size of it is clearly defined and the manifestation of your aura is 100% going to be present in EVERY square of the impacted range.

Fire Auras are fire being present in that area of your Aura and you cannot justify it simply being "a glint of flame in the eyes" unless your eyes are 20ft across. Simialrly, the flavor text doesn't in any way suggest that an extra 1mph of air current is even CLOSE to what it is supposed to represent, instead the example given for Air is chaotic wind circling the Kinetecist and the range defines how wide that would be. Unless you're in an envionrment that is surgically clean, free of all dust, dirt, and debris it would absoutley be visibe and even then you'd still be dealing with it making noise and creating a pressure difference in the air that you could feel.

You can take cover and gain concealment just fine and making stealth checks to do those things is fine, but trying to argue that the Aura can ever be treated as invisible is poppycock, Kinetecists with their aura up have very clearly visible and likely audible signs of the presence even if they are completely invisible.
Emanation wrote:An emanation issues forth from each side of your space, extending out to a specified number of feet in all directions.

Maybe spin this thread into a discussion about how NOT greedy Paizo ACTUALLY is.

Shoot, I took a freaking break from this community because of this kind of thing and figured after lurking that maybe I'd learned how to speak/write in a manner that is acceptable to the cultural norms of this place but apparently not as it seems that nobody here likes hearing or reading ANYTHING that challenges them or makes them think. At least that's the takeaway I'm left flirting with and hoping upon hope is just wrong. Anyhow, that's enough from me I guess. I don't even really have a thesis here to say people or the company should do X or Y or even feel a certain way, I'm just pointing out actual facts but that's objectionable still...
This is a STRONG hint that they either signed the deal and are working behind the scenes to maintain a low profile (MM went from 5-10 posts per day to just THREE vague-posts in nearly a month) or they're lawyering the hell up. Which is happening, one can only speculate but given the fact that on/around Dec 15th they all got strangely quiet, I'd be willing to bet they got pitched a deal, be it a real sweetheart one which is my bet, or more conservative one like Kickstarter was given.

Whatever way they go is a mystery yet but I'm confident they were offered SOMETHING probably as early as anyone else. If I HAD to place a bet which way they'll go, I'd put my lot in with those saying they'll stay loyal to the D&D Brand.
Something interesting about this...

[Spoiler omitted]This took me LITERALLY 30 seconds. There is repetition here, it rehashed some things several times, I am sure that it isn't 100% up to snuff for an actual business/AP proposal, and has a ton of missing bit-bobs that inject more flavor into the proposal that I'm sure would otherwise be present if someone themselves wrote this personally to submit but you have to admit that this alone, all of 30 seconds of effort, put out a TON of work, especially formatting terminology, and even PRODUCT SPECIFIC information that is a legible and workable first draft that would save hours, days, or perhaps even WEEKS for someone who is inexperienced in this. There are parts that are just factually incorrect such as the idea GW and FF Games also produce Adventure Paths that compete with PF2 but... it still lands in the same ballpark and instantly sourced relevant data to include in the pitch about the market even though it did absolutely miss the mark with those details. Other information such as pricing, cost to create, staff, and pay for the project is similarly way off too but that is almost certainly because that information is private and is something that can and eventually, will easily be able to be fed into these self-learning AI which will also have way, WAY more context and accuracy when made into commercial AI products/assistants/partners.

Again, the above was generated for free, in less than a minute, and uses OLD DATA that isn't even hooked into systems that allow it to sample the rapidly increasing datasets such as user feedback about what is being generated, the quality of the rendering, or adaptations to the self-learning behaviors.
Here... let me just show you.
If Paizo, third-party publishers, freelancers, board game companies, customers, and everyone else working in the hobby abandoned ever using crowdfunding again it would be an undeniable win for everyone involved. The benefits of this kind of "sales/promotion" method are far outweighed by the landfill of reasons why it is less than ideal if you're actually looking to make a quality product and deliver it to people. I am of the mind that it jumped the shark around the time that KS got pushed into the popular mainstream with the Potato Salad project/meme and there has been shockingly little done since then to improve crowdfunding, instead what happened is a dozen other crowdfunding orgs popped up to make a quick dime without risking any financial loss or legal consequences whatsoever.
This kind of thing is exactly why I stopped buying into, promoting, or contributing work toward any crowdfunding product, system, or service.

There IS no Maneuverability listed for WtV, I assume in error since there IS no general rule regarding how well you can move via flight by default, and in fact the Skill writeup for Fly includes penalties/bonuses for various levels of proficiency.

Should I assume average Maneuverability? I'd very much appreciate an official response if this hasn't somehow been answered elsewhere somewhere hidden.

Special Mentions to Tonya and Bobby for making us feel more welcome than ever, I hope you all get caught up on some much needed rest and refresh before the next show in a few weeks.
I'd like to give a big shoutout to all you lovely amazing folks in the Society for, yet again, making my GenCon experience so fantastic. The idea is that player skill and properly slotted equipment makes the player, not some number on your character sheet. To be the best means you have to convince OTHERS you legitimately are THE best. A different kind of PvP than the number-crunching for sure, but it's a different kind of cultural and social PvP system.
There is no reason why PCs should't be able to dress up and transmit a disguise that treats a CN human rogue like a LG half-elf wizard given he has the proper disguise and skill. If rogues move in a specific way/speed, then the disguise should automatically alter these so they match the disguise.

On the other hand it would be nice PCs could "play it cool" and enter a settlement under the disguise of a NPC, and have his gear, movements, speed, and general affect replicate these. There are plenty of games on the market where commoners, NPC merchants, and even guards are milling around everywhere. Sure the person can break their disguise by jumping around, talking, or attacking someone but letting the system be where someone watching can obviously pick out the phoneys even after losing their skill check is WORSE than not implementing a disguise skill at all, as the developers programming time has been wasted when it could otherwise be put to good use.

As for guards, I can see a type of busywork being done at all of the city entrances and important checkpoints, checking people for paperwork, disallowed magic items weapons, or contraband should provide the player who wants to play the guard with things to do. I can see perception and sense motive being vital skills to this player. If they spot someone or something that is out of order they can either choose to confiscate the goods, turn the person away if they dont trigger a thief/assassin/criminal tag, or arrest/attack them if certain requirements aren't met.

This also gives players a chance to reasonably bribe other PC guards, who in turn can eventually even face the consequences of these actions should the be caught.
As for the disguise portion of your discussion, I surely hope that these disguises are not that easy to see through as any pattern that would distinguish this PCs activity from any other PC acting regularly would entirely defeat the purpose of the disguise, especially if the person checking them already failed their perception/sense motive to discover their identity.

Allowing people to magically summon resources that other people have to spend LOTS of time and effort into getting (As low level players, low level resources are level appropriate challenges) is simply not right. Shortcuts are one thing, but a "faucet" that charges the customer for resources would only ever be shut off when the person (Or people) stop paying money for the resource. Simply put, every time someone buys resources from the cash shop it will reduce the overall value of all other resources of that type that exist in the world. One thing we've learned from allowing players to spend money in game is that people WILL use the service, no matter how expensive it is, and these purchases will end up back in the market one way or another, especially in a system where nothing is "bound" to a character.

Anything a player can use to increase there experience, level, skill, talent, or otherwise give them a tactical, or even financial advantage shouldn't be accessible in this way.
Allowing a player to purchase any good that lets them attain greater glory is exactly what Pay-to-Win means.

Sure GW can limit the amount of $$ someone can spend on these resources from the cash shop, which seems to be the only way GW could control how these resources affect the economy, but as a business this would antithetical to the entire premise of selling the game at all.
Yeah, I have to vote with the "no resources in the cash shop" people.

Throwing out some arbitrary numbers to clarify.

Lets say 5lbs of Skymetal (SM) cost 9.99$ USD. GW would have discounted levels of Skymetal at double this something like 10lbs of SM for 18.99, etc.

Now lets say the other in game avenues reward SM on measure of ounces of it at a time. For example we engage in a top level escalation event, and players who participate meaningfully towards it are awarded 2 ounces of precious SM. This kind of activity would take a long time to accomplish, and even longer to build up to the stage where the "faucet" can even be turned on.

I think by allowing players to trade and acquire this SM then it will help defeat the idea that you HAVE to buy SM to have a fair shot against those people who can afford it. It goes back to the idea of being "time wealthy" versus "monetary wealth."

I hope that helps clarify.
Dario wrote:Carbon D. Metric wrote:What does everyone think of a Coin (Not Gold or otherwise, Real world money) faucet in game?
I like the premise based on the fact that it will help make killing someone and looting them more appealing in general, as due to the fact that upon killing you can choose 1 of a given randomset of unthreaded pieces of equipment the person had instead of just getting whatever the RNG wants to throw at you. This will help reduce the amount of garbage that someone loots that they have no use for.

Example: A Wizard get told to Stand and Deliver, and as a CN Evoker specialist, the would be fully armored bandit is now a smoldering pile of ash. In the random loot scenario there is a decent chance to loot his full plate, exotic weapon, or other piece of otherwise useless gear. In the system where loot is presented to the looter and a choice is given then the player will almost certainly be able to find something among his gear that he can put to use such as a Wondrous Item, a Potion, or maybe some armored Bracers.

The same can be said about Fighter types looting casters, as they wont share very many keywords between items, a random situation would only serve to force the winner to try and find someone else to pawn his goods off on, which is in-itself a whole different skillset.
Jazzlvraz wrote:Nihimon wrote:There's really no reason to present a list of the target's lootable equipment unless you're going to allow the looter to select items from that list.

That is unless you brought a Wizard with Disintegrate along, in which case you get Nosching!
I am of the opposite opinion. I would like to see really rare items... well, really rarely drop. Seems like that would keep them rare.

I agree that certain materials should be rare, but I think that the function of their rarity should be flipped on its head from what MMO's typically use.

That being instead of having a loot list of items and harvestables available to loot on death, perhaps each corpse will have only its ruined gear (Salvageable at best) and whatever physical components that given creature actually IS. In our case we want really rare material like Dragon-Scale for our discussion.

In the past MMO paradigm, you would have to go out accomplish a few things.

1) Find the Dragons. Typically pretty easy to do in most MMO themeparks as long as you are of sufficient level.

2) Slay the Dragons. Usually these kind of high grade material, lets say Quality (300) for argument sake. So this kind of material is very valuable, so it will be guarded by high level monsters, and as such the developers cannot allow a flood of the material.

3) Farm the Dragon "Zone." Sometimes it would take hours, if not days to get enough that you need, as they are dealing with the typical wash/rinse/repeat respawning kind of world the Dragons they have access to is practically limitless, HOWEVER, the chance of the drop rate is something like -1%

I would like to see a system where there is more emphasis on step number 1 (Being that actually locating the Dragon). We will be relying on Monster Hexes to develop and eventually escalate into monster attacks. This will be the primary supply of higher level, and more fortified enemies. Dragons are if not THE Kings of Kingdom Attack, rank among the most iconic encounters the Fantasy RPG has to offer. During this escalation info will come that a Dragon Lieutenant, or Major, or otherwise is located 3 Hexes into dangerous Wilderness Hexes. Once the party rallies, and chops the creature to bits, there is nothing in the system to respawn said Dragon.

Once our Dragon has been looted once, the lair has been plundered, and the treasure dragged home, the party would certainly be upset if their Dragon failed to yield the arbitrarily "Rare" quality (300) Dragon-Scale. It's not like they can just go out and prepare to go out to find more dragons spontaneously. In fact I anticipate people treating certain Escalation Cycles like they would treat the respawn rate of Iron, Herbs, or other treasure.

My point here is, sure Unicorn Horn SHOULD be really rare, but NOT because you have to kill 40 Unicorns to get the item, but because FINDING and CLAIMING the kill are going to be significantly more involved than walking up to the Unicorn Spawning Hole Cave v.048b.

Hope I'm not coming off poorly, just trying to help think outside the preestablished norms. :D
Bringslite wrote:Carbon D. wrote:Also when it comes down to those really rare "Dragons Claw" type items, I think the corpse should produce a reasonable amount of the material so that nobody gets left out. 4 Claws per dragon, 1 Heart, 1 Skull, 200lbs of Dragon-Bone, and 50sq Feet of Dragon-Scale.
I know for a fact that this is how a number of TTop players handle it in a dungeon, or out in the field exploring, we write everything down on a list as we get it and if anyone wants something in particular they negotiate it with the rest of the group if there is a contest for it. That way groups can go about looting the dungeon for the 1-5 hours they are likely to be "at-it" and they can all just toss it on the master list to divide up as they choose at a later time.

Worst case scenario someone has to get offline and they arent around for the looting, but the Devs have already said that PCs will persist in the world in some way even when they are logged offline, and if this is the case there should be nothing keeping the remaining party from splitting the treasure with that PC anyhow whenever they need.

Keep in mind the stone block will either a) Be hollow, or b) automatically fail if the BBEG is inside it.

IF the NPC is touching the hollow stone block around him he gets a save. If it is light wherever you are keep in mind illusions do not block line of sight or effect, and therefore would let the ambient inside of this solid wall. Right off the bat I'd give the NPC a WIS check just to figure this out as soon as the spell hits.

2) If the BBEG has any ranks in spellcraft or knowledge arcana then he could roll to identify the spell. He succeeds, give him a significant bonus on his WIS check, and a circumstance bonus for the Save. No matter what, by RAW he wouldn't automatically know the illusion is just that even if he saw it being cast. He could similarly roll a MUCH higher check versus a magic item activation effect, something on par of 10+Caster Level+Spell Level

3) If your ranger cannot make the save against the cube by interacting with it first then he could not use line of sight to target the BBEG, so it would require multiple shot, or a simple word from the illusionist-allowing him a will save of his own. Careful what you say out loud though, because the boss WILL be listening. I would give the Failed BBEG another will save for every additional time something interacts/passes through the stone cube, heck, I'd add up a +1 stacking bonus to each time it happens. Also I would be including 1 check every round as a full round action for the NPC to stumble around confused trying to figure things out.

4)It should be dark. The latest spell wins when it comes to equal level light/darkness spells. Since he has the drop on the party IF he is smart then he will use the Darkness to dispel the Light altogether.

If the Scimitar is outside range or even on the edge of it, it will continue to shed light outside Darkness radius as long as the Darkness is cast on an area instead of on the weapon itself. In this case we have normal light (From the Light spell) being reduced to dim light inside the radius of the Darkness The torch would work fine outside the Darkness, but burn and shed no light inside its radius as it is nonmagical.

In any case you will either have a situation where the Moon creates ambient dim light around the scene, and where darkness is cast the Moons illumiation goes down to darkness, the torch goes dark, and the Light spell only provides the same level of lighting as the Moon would anyhow. Like I said though, if the BBEG uses Darkness to dispel the Light, then they will be MUCH more disadvantaged than otherwise as it would drop them strait into darkness if he can target the weapon. (Users Will Save to Succeed as the item is "attended")

Hope this helps!
1) Describe the new situation. Keep in mind the stone block will either a) Be hollow, or b) automatically fail if the BBEG is inside it.

This will cut down on rampant price gouging.

I don't think I agree on this part. I see the ability for craftsmen to take X amount of golds worth of material and turning it into 1.05X (Or greater) will end up FAR outpacing the pace that I believe other sources of wealth acquisition. Sure there wont be great payouts, but as long as the material is available, they can essentially throw away the goods (By selling it to an NPC vendor) and get paid for it. That in itself going to be a permanent NON-PLAYER involved economy of it's own, and will only ever change at the behalf of the programmers deciding whatever formula for determining an items cost. Finished goods being made to just to be destroyed means the primary player market will never be involved.

I'd much prefer a system where items can be easily "wholesaled" after they are made to large player Merchant Guilds, who then host them for sale at the local Auction Houses/Magic Shops around the towns. Offloading your goods should come down to the Contract System they have yet to fully flesh out yet, and deal with either large NPC Organizations in NPC Settlements, or the Player Built structures, and organizations. It should be as simple as speaking to whoever is in charge of goods transfer, (My first thought here is a typical Quartermaster) who will be able to either as a player negotiate terms, or as an NPC entity, would be able to respond by giving a system calculated fair market value with a possible penalty or discount due to alignment and reputation.

By allowing craftsmen to get a long term profit out of selling to NPC's then they will have skipped any player interaction they would normally because nobody else can make a profit off the goods you made, that in itself is a financial and tactical advantage.

No item drop in game should ever be greater than 70% of the quality level that player crafted gear can be.

I also agree here, HOWEVER, one thing to note is that ALL of these high end pieces of equipment will require rare, expensive, and possibly dangerous, Material Components, which have to be harvested manually, from dangerous monsters or dungeons. I think there will end up being a few throw-away magic items we find lying around such as Bags of Holding, Special religious Artifacts, and Plot Device equipment.Bluddwolf wrote:It is my hope that GW takes a good look at the chaos that has hit another MMO (AD&D based) and decides to forego having regional or server-wide auction houses.
