A strong start to a hopefully ubiquitous lineup!

4/5

I just picked up a copy of this new product. As a weekly GM for a group of friends/family I spend a lot of time preparing content. One area I'm currently trying to improve upon is knowledge skills and their uses/limitations. This product saves me time, and provides several options for creating nasty and bony creatures.

Pros:
-Low price. At $2 I didn't hesitate to buy this product.
-Simple design/layout
-Just enough illustration to keep me interested without distracting me from content. Page footers are cool to stare at.
-Skills section including all kinds of ways a player may know more about a skeletal creature

Cons:
-Skills section could be expanded to account for other interesting bits of information a creature type may have. Include knowledge about migration patterns, common battle tactics, and common communication (Ex: DC 14 may tell you that skeletons make frantic *clackle* sounds when they are frightened or rebuked). This would help me RP as the creature better than my poor improvisational skills allow.
-I already want more and it was released 20 minutes ago
-Jason doesn't live close enough to buy a beer

This book is great and a steal at the price. Each adventure comes together with "links" to other adventures listed in the book. It's a great logistics framework that leaves almost all of the Role-Playing to the DM and players. This is how these accessories should be. Buy this if you are a player or DM alike.

Players: These encounters have some clever treasures and puzzles. Reading through this will make you a better player. Sure you may be used to killing that highwayman barbarian who wants your possessions, but did you ever check his boots for that perfect ruby worth thousands of gold pieces!? This book is overflowing with creativity from someone who sat at Gary's table.

Dungeon Masters: A great DM is one who truly understands just how much she has to learn. This book gives you idea after idea laid out in a two-page spread.
