Bless will stack with all banner effects no matter what

So, everyone gets +2 morale bonus to attacks - correct?

Thalas moves to place himself more directly in the center of the room, taking cover from both the black dragon and the mad dwarf in order to cast Bless for both the Elves and Dwarves.

Chainmail, Bless provides a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and saving throws against fear. I recall that it stacks with the Elven banner, but what is the cumulative effect for both Elven and Dwarven banner in addition to Bless?

Thalas stands tall and well-built like all his Wood Elf kin, and is gird in excellent-quality if mundane armor. Allowing the better-spoken Wilaml to negotiate, he stands ready to defend himself.

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

To all.

I post here my sincerest apologies.

My apologies for not posting often enough.

I must regretfully step down/away from the PbP.

My apologies for not being able to inform sooner. I am sorry my character has not had more of an input/impact within the game.

I am sorry for taking up the space that some one else might have done far more with than I.

I sincerely wish every one all the very best and hope both this game and their real Life endeavors meet with the greatest of success.

Yours truly Suny (Aka Sunset, Aka Peebothuhlu)

Real life happens, we understand. I'm sorry to see you go when we're so close to the end, but it's been a pleasure and best wishes for you!

"Your pardons for interrupting, my Ladies Ciedrel and Velma, but I think it a wiser course of action to avoid such a display of power. The human rulers of this area have been content to avoid taking sides either way, but a threat of force is sure to make them reconsider leaving us alone. Further, we should undertake to understand why the Dwarfs undertook their expedition into the Ironwood. I have found that understanding the 'why' of things has long been the key to unraveling the whole of a story. Last, while I have no love for the Dwarfs, destroying their keep entirely when it is sure to lodge many of their families is not a task I am willing to undertake."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"He is correct in saying that these are Dwarven lands, Wil - though I, too, am surprised at the manner in which the clan or clans are waging their counter-offensive," says Thalas.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Is this really Dwarf lands? Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas stands in awe of the gift Wil has received. Such creatures were as rare as they were magnificent.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Now would be a good time for that Wand of Fireball...!

Unable to stop the wagon himself, Thalas tried to warn the checkpoint.

"BEWARE THE WAGON!!!"

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas follows Wil, curious to see what was unfolding before them.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Wand of Summon Monster II with 25 charges added to character sheet.

"Wil, do you recognize of any the sigils on the carriages?"

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"That's what a real fight is, Velma. Magic can help avoid, prevent, or repair wounds - but that doesn't change the fundamental 'idea' of using force to achieve one's goals. Oh, and we'd like to purchase the wand of Summons as well," Thalas adds once they'd reached the magic shop.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"Seltyn, a wand with which to summon the aid of planar creatures would be very useful to us - do you concur? We should take advantage of this opportunity to acquire what aid we can. Speaking more callously, it would be better for Azlain and Wil to avoid taking injury at any cost," asks/says Thalas.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"Your pardon, Velma, but what city is this? This is clearly a large trade center, and I am curious to know if we've heard of or treated with its people before," Thalas asks, the desire for knowledge coming to the fore.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"A valid option, Elesandriel. No doubt the diggers-in-caves would never suspect our falling upon them from behind," he smiles in a sort of razor-sharp contemplation, completely misunderstanding her intent.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"Elder, do you need us to slay this other monster or have we your leave to depart? You have doubtless deduced as much, but the Wood Elves are our allies and we have a duty to warn them about any such factor as may shape the course of our peoples' fates."

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas looks inquisitively at the leader.

"It must have been an important battle, for them to have turned their backs on such a treasure as you reward us. Have you learned anything about it since then?"

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

All caught up post-vacation!

His strength sorely taxed by the encounter with the land shark, Thalas desired nothing more than to rest for the evening.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas moves toward Eirel-being-dragged-by-Who, preparing a Cure spell for the fallen elf. Spontaneous Conversion a Bull's Strength for a Cure Moderate.

Cure Mod. Wound: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 to be applied to Eirel when Who moves him into Touch range

Status hp 33, AC 20, Haste (4 rounds), Prayer (4 rounds)

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

At the sound of attack, Thalas hustles forward as far as he dares and calls on Labelas Enorath to aid them.

Moved 20', cast Prayer: allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls. Five round duration.

Spell Resistance against monster: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Status hp 33, AC 20, Prayer (5 rounds)

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Just to give fair warning, I'm going on vacation August 8-18 and will probably not have internet access. Even after I get back, it may take a few days to get caught up with everything again.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

As the group descended into the darkest bowels of the earth, Thalas couldn't help but mutter in sour irony, "This is Dwarf work... Labelas Enorath see me to the light of the sun once more."

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas looks questioningly to Seltyn and the others for a moment before speaking up, "It would be our honor to aid our new-found allies in this endeavor, Elder. I have no doubt that we will be able to depart for these mines in the morning."

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Oh, man - babies. They may need their diaper changed like twelve times a day, but at least they don't complain about it. My toddler HATES diaper-changing time and will not hesitate to twist around trying to get back up again when he's been laid down for it, often resulting in making the "mess" more... widely distributed, say. See what you have to look forward to?

Enjoy the meconium, by the way. ;)

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"Does that satisfy your curiosity, Wil? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind returning to solid land again," says Thalas, implying he saw no need to pause their nigh-completed journey.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Upon hearing of this peoples' magical power to destroy entire cities at once, Thalas maintains his outward expression of neutral observation - while inwardly deeply disturbed at the seeming willingness to engage in such wholesale destruction.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"In what way, sir? There is a necessity in many of the tasks you call drudgery and manual labor. The growing of plants for food, or spinning of thread with which to make clothes, the apprentice at the forge-bellows, or the cook in the kitchen are none of them comely - yet all are vital to a people's way of life if they would not be barbarian wanderers," Thalas asks, perplexed about the elder's comment.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas stands at the gunwale of the ship, hoping he looked impressive in order to bolster Wil's diplomatic effort.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas was among the last to board the Slipstream. Spending most of the voyage on deck feeling the sun, hearing the waves, and feeling the spray of the sea as they darted across its waters was a time of primal rejuvenation in which to contemplate knowledge the nature of wisdom.

With the surveying of the island complete, he entered the discussion.

"The harbor is the most natural place for us to go as visitors from across the sea; we will be expected there regardless of our intent. As such, we will present ourselves as less threatening to the inhabitant."

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Out of town and AFK for a few days!

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"I believe the island to be our best option at present. Our travel time with the Slipstream means the time necessary to commit to such a venture should be minimal and it offers the fastest method of return should Lady Ciedrel require it," Thalas states, having considered and judged their options.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"What of the desert nation to try and recruit? I recall mention of the possibilities that creature of air may have been a part of their culture," Thalas asks in turn.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas' eyes widen when he sees the armor Lady Ciedrel presents. The material and craftsmanship were equal that of any of what he'd seen in his youth when the Elven people flourished across all the land and their craft was surpassed by none.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Don't have Know (local) at all. Poot. :\

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

How can Dwarfs struggle against giants? They get +4 AC against them!

"I shall have to take your word for it, Master Windfavor, though I note you say 'mostly'. How quickly do you make our passage? Shall we make Elfhome on the morrow?"

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Can't watch that right now, but for a Dwarf - axes are necessities, not accessories. ;)

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Perhaps they should consider accessorizing in something beyond "beard" to receive a sorely-needed morale bonus!

Why do the Dwarfs have ta' be enemies...?

Because they have no fashion sense.

Also, they'll tell you to put and keep your clothes on! :O

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"I see you are wounded, Elesandriel. Please allow me to tend to it," he asks.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

BAB and saves unchanged, Channel goes up to 3d6, and I get 3rd level spells (Domain = Speak with Dead or Magic Vestments) and a feat (Improved Initiative).

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Sadly, Dwarfs don't know a thing about either of those things.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas likewise refuses a cloak when offered, but sighs in gratitude when the pain fades away with Wil's channeling.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas stands back up with some effort. The pain effect from the alter seemed to have affected him strongly than most of the rest of his companions, as they carried on almost as normal.

"I fear I shall not be of use; whatever is causing this has affected me greatly," he gasps. "I will await you in the courtyard, where I may at least watch for any guards to approach."

Thalas then walks stiffly toward the doors and out into the yard.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Fort DC 19: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Derp... I guess that makes my item search a 14 result, then.

Thalas screams as a wave of agony overwhelms him, falling to the floor in writhing agony.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas complies with Seltyn's request and casts Detect Magic, looking around the room while Wil, Azlain, and maybe Elesandriel chase after the hell hounds.

Any magic in here?

He then begins quickly sorting through the more mundane items in the warehouse for anything "interesting".

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

"Of course, Wil," he thanked the paladin, casting Light on Wil's shield. "Now go, and I'll see to Eiril and Elesandriel."

SA-cast Light, MA-move closer to Eirel

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas strikes at the mastiff, eager to see to Eirel and Elesandriel.

Attack (bastard sword, DF, IC)): 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 27
Damage: 1d10 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 8

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Thalas strikes at the pesky mastiff that kept getting his legs tangled up and almost fall over.

Attack (bastard sword, divine favor, inspire courage): 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 15
