While following his companions, Terwyn throws a longing look back to the house where the smell of fresh bread still fills the air, so as Nevaal stops he barely can avoid to stumble into him. To mask his inattentiveness he starts to ostentatiously look around him. "See anything, Nevaal?" Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Aww, come on!

Grognak, you are aware that your charisma is better than mine? :D Maybe we should take a look at that barn, then? See if we can find anything there? Terwyn shifts uneasily. You know what? For some reason that doesn't feel right. Not only that the first thing Miss Siri does when she mets us is behave in a way arousing our suspicions. Now everywhere we go everything seems to point in her direction? I know one thing or two about getting blamed for something you didn't do, so this feels way to easy for me." He looks at Grognak and Nevaal, then turns to Diana. But why would Siri point her finger at you? I thought you taught her sewing and all, shouldn' she be, I don't know, thankful for that?" Seeing that the young woman seems afraid of them Terwyn tries to accomodate her. "No need to fear anything Miss, we're just the help called for by unlucky Master Linkon and would like to have a few words with his wife. I assume she's here? he says, trying to peer over the young maid's shoulder into the house. Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Hm, for some reason, the dice roller likes to give me 1s.

I'm working as a nurse at an emergency station, and 2-3 times per month, I'm on stand-by duty, meaning that I have to work for around 14 hours and then have to stay at the hospital for another seven hours just in case of an emergency. Luckily, most of the time I can sleep through those, as our night shift can handle what comes up.

When they have left the jail, Terwyn looks to Nevaal and the others. "You know what? As it is on our way, maybe we should take the time to stop by Linkon's house and visit his wife. Just to hear what she has to say about all these accusations and especially about this Siri gal.

"Think you could direct us to this clearing, so that we can look for any trails?" Terwyn looks to the others. "I mean we can still interrogate Siri and her family but if we could go at the root of all this evil we can maybe stop the curse before someone else gets hurt, right?"

Terwyn incredulously looks at Dariel. "You mean that, do you? Slapping a woman in the face, really? Even if it's a little brat like Siri?" The young man shakes his head. "Didn't even do something like that when I was still on the wrong side of the law. Apart from that, where I come from that would have given you a rope round your neck faster than you could say "witch", and I don't plan to spend my afterlife next to the girl at the tree if you get what I'm saying. So maybe we should choose to be a bit more cautious in how we go about this."

"Huh, that was interesting." Terwyn irritatedly comments. "Kinda like my sis', when she got asked who had broken my toy an' she started to get angry about that it had been a stupid toy anyways. As if we had accused her of anything." Terwyn giggles. "Though in the case of my sis' that came probably because it had actually been her who had broken my toy as we found out later." Terwyn nods agreeingly to Dariel's words. "Yeah, might be a good idea, young Miss Siri wasn't too helpful after all, but I don't know, maybe we should talk to the judge beforehand. Those high lords always seem insulted if they get ignored by their lessers."

Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11 "Dunno, Nevaal, sounds like being imprisoned in jail, only worse, and that's no fun at all. Sounds easy at day 1, yeah, but that changes really fast." Terwyn turns to Siri. "But yeah, Miss Siri, why would said maid have done something bad to you first hand?"
male Human rogue 1 - AC: 15 - HP: 8 - Perception: +3 (+4 trapfinding)
"We were requested by one of the witches. Hah!" Terwyn angrily spits back in the direction of the woman who did them the favor first. "Not even I would be so stupid as to call my enemies for help. But no, can't be that the Judge is wrong. I mean, he's the Judge, after all." When Siri approaches them and gets asked by Nevaal, he turns to listen what the woman has to say.

"Those idiots are really trying to destroy themselves" mutters Terwyn under his breath. "As if there weren't enough other things out there doing a better job of it." Curiously he steers his horse to the tree to take a better look at the unlucky woman. Perception: 1d2 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Terwyn, so far eyeing the Half-Orc with more than just a bit of mistrust, can't help but laughing shortly to Grognak's joke. "We could even help with the burning, when there's something left for us when we arrive." Then he turns to Dariel. "You seem quite confident, Mr. Fremont, any experience with hunting witches you want to share with us? No offense, but you're talking the big talk about our expertise when at least two of us" he nods shortly to the barbarian, " have already admitted that we have none of it."

does Terwyn know anything about Melias? Knowldege(local): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 "Hm, nah, never heard of this place before. Sounds cozy, though" Terwyn scratches his skin. "I get the stop the burning part, but how are we supposed to find this witch? I mean, if they're pointing fingers, they'll probably tell us any crap they can imagine, right?"

Because a hand crossbow would probably make even less sense, right? edit: and is there any other religious tradition then, when gods don't play a big role yet? Shamanism, or an ancestor cult similar to what the Romans had?

With sudden interest, a young man in peasant's clothes and a blue cloak and a scowl on his face looks up. "I'm from the coast meself, so can you tell us which hamlet you're talking 'bout? May have heard of it before. Oh, and I'm Terwyn, for those of you who didn't have the pleasure yet to beat me up all over the training hall."

Thanks for picking me. Terwyn stems from Claddach, a small fisher village at the coast. Used to accompany his father when he set out in the morning hours with his little boat and helped him repair the nets, so I might add 1 rank in craft (netmaking) and profession (fishing) as background skills, if this is ok. Was kind of a paradise, until the village got destroyed and he was brought to Greyvault (see backstory for the rest). Now he's a bitter young man with problems to accept authority, though he's aware that he better holds his head down in this new situation. At least for the time being.

Now I wouldn't say that I'm totally pleased by my rolls, but in case that I' m allowed to participate, I would have no problems being the Samwell Tarley of our group (a bit more dexterous, perhaps^^). And if I understand you correctly, the only thing that would change anyways is the 7 in Charisma (which I wouldn't mind to change to 8, but which probably will also not be the death of me if it stays at 7).
DM waz up? wrote: Alot of you seem to desire an adaptation of GOT Rangers. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just using some of the GoT terms (take the black, riding into the north mainly) in lack of better knowledge of your own setting. But I'd actually prefer to learn more about your own creation especially if we're using the Pathfinder rules.
I'd like to offer Terwyn Arragast, a young human rogue whose village was destroyed by a dragon/a band of orcs when he was still a child. He was given to foster parents in the next bigger city, but as an outsider was getting bullyied a lot, so eventually he ran away only to find shelter in a group of ragtags, being part of the local thieve's guild. There he learned his trade, hiding the burning hatred for his bullies deep within his heart. When he reached adulthood, he thought it finally time to have his revenge and organized an ambush to give his old tormentors a good measure of beating. There was no intention of killing involved, but when one of his victims drew a weapon, things got out of control. In the end, one of the bullies lay bleeding in the street, he got caught by the guards and charged with tried murder, even when he hadn't actually been the one to hurt the victim. So when offered to take the black he knew that it would beat the alternative (probably being death sentence) Stats:
Traits would be Draconic Vigil and Reactionary, though I would like to change the dragon part to witches or another suitable monster capable of leading the orcs which destroyed his village, if there aren't dragons in your setting. Oh and please ignore the entries in the profile page I once started this character for another game, that never came to pass for me, so I'll overwrite the things you might find there and just keep the name/the traits. |
