What does the word " check" includes?
Skill check, attack rolls, damage rolls(i don't think so),flat check?
And DC? Also armor check?
Now that I think about it... What happens if I wear a gauntlet? Does it work with double slice? Something like, weapon in main hand, gauntlet + buckler in offhand? If I'm not mistaken gauntlet has the free hand trait.
Ascalaphus wrote: Stregi wrote: Now i'm lost XD.
So a buckler can't be used as a weapon while using the double slice feat? Ambiguous. Shield bash/boss/spike list "1" hand in table 6-7, suggesting they're wielded with the hand. Double Slice requires them to be in the hand. However, that raises the question of whether you can use Dueling Parry with a rapier and buckler, since the buckler would be a weapon on your other hand, but it would also be free. That's exactly what i'm trying to understand.... I hope someone will find a solution someday XD
Now i'm lost XD.
So a buckler can't be used as a weapon while using the double slice feat?

4. If you are using your Buckler as a weapon, it appears to be taking up your hand. If you are only using your buckler defensively, it appears to leave your hand free for the purpose of those free hand feats. Thus, I don't think you can combine Double Slice and free hand feats with the buckler.
When you write that double slice and one-handed feat doesn't work together, you mean by RAI or RAW, 'cause I think that this rules are a mess XD
Thank you so much, your answer is incredibly accurate!
Hi guys! Few questions,
1: is buckler considered wield?
2: if it's not, can I use it with "reactive shield" anyway?
3: if it is, can I use it with the "double slice" feat( with boss upgrade)?
4:if I can use it with "double slice" how does interact with feats that require to have one hand free?
Thx in advance
Thank you for your answer sir^^
Some contrips have the trait "attacks" but don't specify any kind of spell roll (for example "chill touch"). And vice-versa some requires to roll a spell attack but don't show the tag "attack"(for example "tangle foot"). Some others miss them both(for example "electric ark"). How do these cantrips work with the multiple attack penalty?
Thx in advance
Thanks for the answer. And what about the archetype feat that grants the instinct ability? Does it give just the "instinct ability"?(so no rage damage reduvtion, no specialization ability and no anathema?)
Quick question, the barbarian multi class feat grants the character the Rage power, does it also grant the Rage damage reduction?
Thx in advance
shroudb wrote: i disagree.
a melee thrown weapon is still a melee weapon.
as per the weapon traits, they specifically exist ranged thrown weapons and melee thrown weapons.
ofc, again per the traits, if you thow the weapon it is a ranged strike.
but if the only thing that a feat asks is "strike with a melee weapon" then you can use a melee thrown weapon to strike (regardless if it's a melee strike or a ranged strike) with said feat.
If the feat specified a melee strike, then no, you couldn't use melee thrown weapons, because when you use the Throw trait, the strike becomes a ranged attack.
Twin takedown as an example:
it requires two melee weapon in hand.
those can easily be 2 melee trown weapons.
it requires you to strike with them.
again, not a melee strike, but a strike. That can easily be a thrown strike.
you could do that then with something like thrown axes, but not with darts/javelins
I agree with your point of view, I'll try a to build something around it and see if it feels too wrong
Can you use a thrown melee weapon attack when a feat ask you to strike, or to strike with a melee weapon? (for example the twin takedown feat of rangers)
Thanks for your help guys, my bad, I completly misunderstood the speed section. Thanks again for this clarification.
Question: may I use the "predator pounce" feat more than once per turn up to my max movement? (ex: i have 30 feet movement and I do 3 pounces of 10 feet each?)
Question 2 :movements reset at end of round not turn right? So if in my turn I used all my movement I can't use "no escape" feat during my opponent turn if it triggers?
Thanks for the advice! I'll do as you say for sure ^^
As a GM I find hard for a barbarian with animal totem and just a jaws attack to do the swipe activity. What's your opinion guys?
Seranov wrote: I suppose you're right. Only Dragon Style has the restriction about only being the first hit in a round. As far as Dragon Style goes, though, I think what I said before holds true. 2.5x on the first attack, 2x on all the following ones, even if they're all made into a single attack.
That said, if Crane Style works on it, negating the whole damn attack, then I guess it's not too much of a stretch to say that you get the full bonus on everything? Maybe? Not a clue.
I think you still get the 2.5 strenght damage on every atks after the charge. Ferocity states that u gain the bonus while you are in dragon style...well you are, it doesn't mention charge or anything.
Dragon style gives you the +2 bonus on saving throws while you are using that style.
ferocity:
Quote: While using Dragon Style, you gain a bonus on unarmed strike damage rolls equal to half your Strength bonus. Dragon style
Quote: While using this style, you gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against sleep effects, paralysis effects, and stunning effects. You ignore difficult terrain when you charge, run, or withdraw.
Quick question, if I use Pummeling charge against a creature with Crane Wing, all the attacks I make are treated as a miss?or just the first atk of the flurry?

Energy Channel
You distill your channeled energy into your weapon to empower it.
Prerequisites: Channel energy class feature; Air, Earth, Fire, or Water domain or blessing†.
Benefit: A swift action, you can expend one use of channel energy to grant your weapon attacks a bonus on damage rolls equal to twice the number of dice rolled for your channel energy. This additional damage is of an energy type determined by your domain or blessing: acid (Earth), cold (Water), electricity (Air), or fire (Fire). If you have more than one of those domains or blessings, you must choose one of those damage types when you use this ability. This effect lasts for your next three weapon attacks
or until the end of combat, whichever comes first.
What about Energy Channel feat? It's worth it?And about equip? Robe and winged boots?
Ok, the build seems solid....what about the blessings? I was thinking about Destruction and an elemental one(so we'll qualify for the Energy Channel feat) what you think about it?
I think that the Dragon style won't stacks with Horn of C.
But I'm pretty sure that Horn of C. will stacks with dragon ferocity for 2.5x str bonus damage for each hit XDDDD I love you chaotic !!!!
Chaotic Fighter wrote: Stregi wrote: Chaotic Fighter wrote: It would not be better. Damage dice are lack luster you more strength is awesome.
Also. I went with Sohei with mine so that I could pick up crusader's flurry with the longbow turning my Warpriest into a pretty decent switch hitter.
I don't get it...Dragon style+dragon ferocity = STR bonus x2
Horn of the criosphinx=STR bonus x2
Isn't horn of the criosphinx better? 1 feat vs 2?
Furthermore doesn't Dragon Style states this?:
you can add 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus on the damage roll for your first unarmed strike
Can you add the 1-1/2 STR bonus on every atk of the pummeling flurry? Dragon Style allows you to add 1-1/2 strength on your first unarmed attack in a round instead of just your strength.
Dragon Ferocity grants an untyped damage bonus equal to half your strength mod to ALL of your unarmed strikes.
And as far as I can tell horn of the criosphinx stacks because it's another untyped damage bonus. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I never thought you could use them both...so let me see....Let's suppose i have a +4 Str bonus, 2 atks and I'm charging:
-the first atk damage will be:6(dragon style)+2(dragon ferocity)+8(horn of C.)[no...the 6 from dragon style probably won't stack isn't it?]
- the second attack :2(dragon ferocity)+8(horn of C)
Am I correct? Is this what u meant?

What about using a mount and spirited charge?XDDD
Ok, so no Dex, and what about the charge? Can i add the double strenght bonus to all the attacks performed through the pummeling charge?
Are you sure? Pummeling strike/charge doesn't work exactly like a pounce, it looks more like a single attack.
And what about the Agile enhancement question? Can I apply dex instead strenght bonus when I use the Horn of the Criosphinx feat ?
Thx for ur answers.^^
Ah, can I trade the strenght bonus of this feat for Dex bonus using the agile enhancement?
How does Horn of the Criosphinx feat work with the Pummeling Charge feat? Does it give me 2x strenght bonus with every unarmed strike i make? even for the off hand attacks??

Hi guys! I was thinking about building a super glass cannon with the pernicious sap adept/sap master feat:
I don't know how to progress this build...I look forward for ur help^^
Let's begin:
Human
Dex>Wis>Con>....
1° Monk(MoMS) * Style feat: Pummeling style/Creation F.:Mounted combat/
Progression F.:Ride-By-Attack
2° Monk(MoMS) * Style feat: Pummeling charge
3° Ninja(scout)*Progression F.:Knockout Artist +1d6
4° Ninja(scout)*Ninja trick: Finesse Rogue
5° Ninja(scout)*Progression F.:Spirited Charge +2d6
6° Ninja(scout)*Ninja trick: Sap Adept
7° Ninja(scout)*Progression F.: Piranha Strike +3d6
8° Brawler(snakebite Striker) +4d6
9° Brawler(snakebite Striker)*Bonus Feat:Sap Master/ Progression F.:??
10° Ninja(scout)*Ninja trick:Offensive defense +5d6
I don't know How to progress this build(nor the progress order as you can see....Finesse rogue at 4° lvl is such a bad ideaXDD)
I obviously give the +1agile bonus to the unarmed weapons and I was thinking about a 1 lvl dipping in alchemist vivisectionist......any other idea? Pls help me optimizing this poor creature XD

Question: Do the swashbukler and the Daring Champion cavalier(Archetype) apply for the Signature deed feat?
Splendor wrote: Quote: Slashing Grace (Combat)
Benefit: Choose one kind of one-handed slashing weapon (such as the longsword). When wielding your chosen weapon one-handed, you can treat it as a one-handed piercing melee weapon for all feats and class abilities that require such a weapon (such as a swashbuckler’s or a duelist’s precise strike) and you can add your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to that weapon’s damage. The weapon must be one appropriate for your size
It doesn't say you can't throw your weapon and get the bonus, just that it must be the one you have chosen for the feat.
So yes you should be able to add your DEX bonus to damage with your chosen thrown weapon.
Quote: Precise Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least 1 panache point, a swashbuckler gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon (though not natural weapon attacks), adding her swashbuckler level to the damage dealt. To use this deed, a swashbuckler cannot attack with a weapon in her other hand or use a shield other than a buckler. She can even use this ability with thrown light or onehanded piercing melee weapons, so long as the target is within 30 feet of her. You cannot throw with your off hand and use precise strike. If you attack with your main-hand, the other hand is your off-hand.
However, there is nothing preventing you from repeatedly throwing with your main hand, and thus getting your precise strike damage. (Up to as many free actions as your DM allows with quick draw). "cannot attack with a weapon in her other hand" and what does it happen if my hand is free(i 've just trhown the weapon for example)?

Ok, now I'm scared....Please correct me if I'm wrong:I can build a Two-weapon Fighting Swashbuckler that uses Slashing Grace and throws x Returning Throwing Sawtooth Sabres(-2 penalty for two-weapon fighting),stored in a Scabbard of many blades, adding Dex bonus(thx to slashing grace) and the swashbakler lvl(thx to precise strike) to the damage? No. Precise Strike part at least says you can't not attack with a weapon in your off hand. True , but can I do something like this: starting situation, 2 free hands, I take a weapon with my main hand and throw it(off hand free), then take a weapon with my off hand anf throw it(main hand free) and so on?
Thx for ur answers.

A pair of questions:
1- can I apply the dex bonus damage of Slashing Grace when i throw a dagger?
2- can I use Swashbukler precise strike with two weapon fighting in this way: 2 hands free, I retrieve a dagger as a free action(quick draw)and throw it with the main hand(adding precise strike damage), then retrieving another dagger with the off hand and throwing it(adding precise strike) and so on?

By RAW can I use the feat Slashing grace with a Whip???
So I can create an Arcanist Blade Adept, bonded with a whip to deliver touch spell with reach ??XD
Hi guys! I was thinking about a build based on poison. A mix of Alchemist(vivisectionist), Rougue(scout), and Daggermark poisoner.
To augment the DC of poisons I'm going to use the Calistrina kiss sword, Malignant poison discovery, pernoscious poison and the ability Treacherous Poison fo the daggermark poisoner. Any idea? Could it work?
