Hello one and all! Tis the Sorcerer again, and this time (I do believe I have the right thread..section thing this time)I'm requesting help with a build; the action horror hero, Isaac Clarke, from my all time favorite video games, the Dead Space series. Now, please do take into consideration, for classes, I only own the Core to help with those. I'll be trying to purchase Advanced variants tomorrow, SO in preparation, I need your help! Any ideas/tips will be greatly appreciated! I was thinking of making him a Gunslinger, with a few levels in Monk perhaps, since he's well off in both of those categories. But what weapon would he even use? Or perhaps I'm going about this all wrong, and Ser Isaac of Clarke would go better as a knight? What feats? All that stuff!

If this thread is asking a little too much, do let me know and I'll be on my way! I'm just quite stumped with this one haha

As usual, this GM is at a loss with very broad yet oddly hard to find music; excellent tavern/pub/inn types of music! Now, I know that sounds a little odd, but let me explain. Finding happy, cheery pub music is becoming a pain, honestly. I myself actually haven't even played too many games were there WAS excellent tavern music. Most of it is...dreary?. That may not be the correct wording, but my request from you guys is the following!; I need happy go-lucky tavern/pub type music, something that'll lift the spirits, OR has a sense of comic relief to it, if you would be so kind! I'd like to get as many as I can, so when the PCs travel to other countries, they all won't have the same repeating jingle. ...Though, I was thinking of using this soundtrack from Sacred, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK7jeo3Aqyk and just have the running joke that the same bard type guy is in every single inn and tavern across the globe, including the one group of obnoxious customers. Every.Single.Inn.

Anyways, that's what I'm seeking help for today friends! Any help will be much appreciated, including Youtube links!

I'm not too sure if this belongs here, or in Campaign Setting general discussion, but alas, I'll once more try here first!

Greetings my fellow GMs! Curiosity has the better of me this rainy night, and I'd like to delve into the topic of custom campaigns. I must say, I think I'm in the wrong threads or categories a lot of the time, but I nearly NEVER hear about the campaigns that are absolutely pure imagination. Then again, I'm not quite sure if it's all that popular around here, a lot of people despise it. Slowly but surely over these past few months, I've been writing more and more of a campaign idea I've had for awhile; writing huge chunks of lore for the various countries, their rulers, the history of the nations, all that jazz! Now, keep in mind, I only recently got myself into Pathfinder, around October of 2011. I lived in a small, middle of no-where village, so pen and paper games weren't a thing really until I finally made it to the big city. And the first group I joined, this guy was a veteran of the 1st Edition and so on, and he always preferred custom campaigns, so I can't say I've ever actually played one!

But that's not what I want to talk about, no, I want to hear about the worlds you guys have built, or are currently building, and the fun that's gone into it! I know building such campaigns can be tiresome, but the thrill of PCs exploring your world is truly something else!

Greetings again! Alas fellow GM's, I have yet another conundrum; put a name to the Queen! Back to my built-from-scratch campaign, I've been thinking over many ideas for what to name my all powerful ruler. She's a royal half dragon somewhat; the top half of a woman, and where the legs would begin, it instead begins with the body of a crystal dragon.

So, I need some powerful sounding names! Something quite fantasy like, but not trying too hard, and definitely not one trying too little. Throw your suggestions my way!

All joking aside, I need your help once more comrades. Whether this belongs in Advice or General Discussion I cannot say, but I dare to try here first! I've been building my own campaign from scratch for some time now, and I'm a big fan of using music for every little bit of the campaign,I even downloaded 6 hours of jungle ambiance and pure boat/ship noises. This time however, I need very VERY specific music, specifically stuff that just calls to mind the Old Ones. Probably something like, what you would hear in the presence of one, or in one's lair. Hell, even if someone begins talking ABOUT one. Stuff like that! Youtube links would be much appreciated, and thanks again my friends!

I know, I know. The name SHOULD signify I know how to use spells, which I..sort of do. Now, keep in mind, linked to my profile name is my current character in a campaign I'm playing; Storm Sorcerer Arcturus. But friends, fellow travelers, I have a request for you..help!

Now, I've played..three games as a Sorcerer, and it's been a blast! I'm an Elemental Air Sorcerer (now the equivalent to the Avatar) and I've never really had a problem with it..though, I have been noticing something odd; I've never actually rolled to hit someone I'm attacking. My GM just rolls a dice behind his GM Screen and tells me if the spell hit or not. Now..that strikes me as a bit odd, and given I don't quite understand how magic works completely, I just went along with it. But today, seeing as how I'm going to start a new campaign with spell-casting NPCs for my players to face off against, I figured I should read up on the Core.

Now, good people of Paizo, is the Concentration check to actually hit someone with the spell? 1d20, plus caster level, PLUS ability score modifier, and in return, said person being hit would roll a d20,and add spell resistance?

Apologies friends, it never struck me until now that he may just be house-ruling spell casting and I was unaware this whole time.

Greetings people of Paizo! Today I bring you, yet again, another question from a still-new GM; making the BBEG. Now, for the few sessions I've run as a GM, most enemies come from the bestiaries which I have in my possession (1-2-3) or NPC's with player classes I generated the night before, but this time around, I want to try out making an enemy from scratch, capable of taking on a party of at least three level 15's. The BBEG (Or Big Bad Good Guy) in my case is the current ruler of my homemade world, a queen if you will, or, in terms of Dark Souls, a Lord. She's a halfbreed (dragon-human) with a look very comparable to to this: https://dumpyourphoto.com/photo/h19fJmCv6N . Now, I was thinking about just using the Great Wyrm Crystal Dragon stat block..but..I also want her to have flare, not just a re-skin, you know? Like a vast majority of her abilities will be from the crystal dragon, but I, like the picture, wanted her wielding a weapon of some sort, maybe two even (I pictured the dragonoid lower half using a bastard sword of equal size, and maybe the human half using a halberd or axe). I want to make the boss fight (if it comes to that) awesome and grand, but I'm afraid of making it broken. I'm going to look into the monster generation pages in the backs of the Bestiaries tonight, but I figured I'd give it a go here and see what's what. Apologies, this post was longer than I expected it to be!

Fellow GMs, if you would be so kind, share with me some of your custom BBEGs! Bonuses for Sorcerer-like humanoid villains capable of taking on parties by themselves! The concept..well, still boggles my mind haha. Maybe a level 20 character against lower level NPCs would make that function, but to me, as of this moment, it seems insanely difficult to do (All this going on the assumption that they're a solo bad guy with no minions in the lair!)

EDIT: They aren't near level 20 yet, they're just nearing level 10, but I needed this for future reference! Plus, if she gets attacked by one of the more..quote "crazy" PC's (he aims to be called goldslayer by killing her one day) (Playing with a Chaotic Evil character) She'll appear frequently, but won't really be an encounter until way later, IF it comes to that

Hello fellow GM's; questions from the Sorcerer again! So recently, I've been running a custom campaign of mine with a fairly scattered playing group, though one at least is always present, and with this specific campaign, I've run into a rather..awkward predicament. About, halfway through now, to make up for lack of players, well known and liked NPCs have joined the epic quest, some holy warriors, others, good hearted champions, and the ever neutral merchant tagging along have indeed made the story take unexpected turns..though, with the new session up ahead, the one ever present PC dropped his neutral good Ranger for a..well, Chaotic Evil Sorcerer. Now, I'm aware the campaign is for the PC's to enjoy..but.next session is only with this evil character with his eyes set on overthrowing the kingdom and enslaving the citizens. While it does open up a chance for good aligned/holy enemies..I can't help but feel it'll end in disaster. What do you think?

Naming worlds; no matter how many times I use name generators, or hell, even just attempt to make up words in my head, they either never sound quite right, or they're actual words we have now. The only way I can comprehend it is using gibberish until you get something vaguely looking like a country name or world. If you don't mind sharing your secrets, from one GM to another; how do you accomplish such a task?

For the past few weeks, our GM has been on vacation, which normally wouldn't be a problem..except, well, there aren't any alternative GMs in the area. Seeing as there was no other way, I began flipping through the Pathfinder Beginner Box, playing the do-it-yourself mini campaign; which only offers set characters and a rather unreplayable adventure. Any tips, fellow people of Pathfinder? Or am I doomed to search the internet for more of these mini adventures?
