Skyrn continues to follow, ready to act, eyes straining to see through the darkness that surrounds them.

"I think you should lead Morbury; your eyes are sharper than mine in this gloom, and I can get to the rear quicker in case something strikes us from behind," Skyrn says in a hushed manner, clearly a bit unnerved by the eerie feeling that permeates the hall, his sword clenched in one hand and the other hovering by his side, ready to react as needed.

Morbury should go first; Skyrn is faster, has a thrown weapon that he can always hurl if his target is too far away, and that way it can give him a little bit breathing room to chug a mutagen or extract if need be.

Listening to Rauno's explanation, Skyrn nods, and then says "Very well; may I suggest we get out of this as quickly as we can then?" as he approaches the door, ready to throw it open.

"Me too. I can't do that all day..."

Looking at Rauno and Morbury at the mention of burning flesh, Skyrn shrugs after a moment, before advancing forward with the group, near the front.

Watching the animated weapon fall to the ground, Skyrn suddenly sags and drops his sword point to the ground, leaning on it like a cane; breathing heavily, he seems to be catching his breath as he answers, "Might as well; that is what we came here for."

About ten seconds later, Skyrn finally pushes himself upright with his sword, yanks it out of the wood, and stretches his neck and shoulders some as he approaches the door. "Alright, I'm ready to go."

Continuing his all-out assault of the scythe, Skyrn roars mightly as he hacks at the floating weapon once more.

"Smash it." Skyrn succinctly says as he roars and brings his sword up viciously as the veins on his neck suddenly bulge and his normally calm demeanor is shattered.

Right, I'm popping into my rage, followed by another two-handed power attack with the longsword.

Yeah, he's right. You can make a 35" movement which leaves you 5" as part of a fulll movement phase so you can still attack.

I can make it there in a double move, yes, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't charge as it wasn't a straight line. But it is only 30' and I forgot about Fast Movement. So yeah, attack time!

Slipping past Morbury, Skyrn rushes to the front, his blade drawn and ready to strike.

Stopping at the steps when Darcy mentions the fascade's instability, Skyrn thinks for a moment before responding. "If I recall correctly, there is a second entryway via a staircase on the west facing wall. Should we try that instead?"

Following Darcy up the stairs, Skyrn waits for the others to catch up before doing anything. Once they are all there, he unsheathes his blade and holds it in one hand while he grabs onto the door handle with the other and with a muttered, "No time like the present, right?" he quickly opens the door, ready to strike at anything coming through.

Rauno is ready to join the patrols. I'm enjoying the interaction between Kendra and Morbury and I didn't want to "step" on it by trying to push the timeline forward.

Pretty much the same; I was waiting for things to move on from the kitchen...

Smirking a bit under his hood, with his back turned as Morbury enters the room, Skyrn puts on a serious face before turning around.
"That's good, Kendra probably needed the moral support of a bodyguard after last night."

Later, after Kendra comes down, he somberly replies, "Yes, everything has been taken care of. You shouldn't have any more... surprises."

Also, STR Mutagen is prepped, along with one Shield extract. My second extract is left open as it only takes a minute to prep, if needed.

Waking shortly after the sun has risen, Skyrn rises and heads downstairs. Seeing that Kendra is not up yet, and knowing the traumatic night that she had last night, Skyrn begins to poke around the kitchen, attempting to make something that would vaguely resembles breakfast for everyone, including Kendra. When finished with the food (if she has not come downstairs yet), he asks Morbury, "Would you care to bring her some food this morning?" as he holds out a bowl containing breakfast.

Probably porridge or something equally simple

"Offensive? Not at all; I completely understood the need to get the body out of sight as quickly as possible. Good Night."

Turning to Rauno and bidding him good night as well, Skyrn turns in for the night.

Raising a single eyebrow at her comment, Skyrn just nods his head in respect before talking to Father Grimburrow. "Well, thank you for your assistance Father. We will be sure to let you know if we find anything else like this happening. I hope the rest of your night is more pleasant." Turning, Skyrn follows Rauno back to Kendra's, occasionally jogging a bit to keep up.

Passing the body off to one of the acolytes, Skyrn answers the woman in armor, "Yes, I think would like to help keep watch tomorrow night; the last thing anyone else needs is their loved ones rising and attempting to kill them as well. But you are right, it is best that we make sure that Kendra is alright. Thank you for your assistance Father and for yours Ms...." Skyrn trails off as he realizes that he does not know the armoured woman's name.

Clearly out of his element, Lucius sits quietly in the car, just listening and absorbing all of the information that he can.

Nodding at the professor in his arms, Skyrn answers Father Grimburrow's question, "We were at the Lorrimor house when we heard a knock at the door. Kendra went to go answer it and had a rude shock as it appears that Professor here rose from his grave, sought out his former house, and assaulted his daughter. Morbury and I were able to eliminate the threat, but Rauno and I agreed that we should bring the body to you as a temple of Pharasma is more likely to be capable of handling an undead threat than the sheriff and his deputies."
Falling silent, Skyrn begins to wait for a reply, when suddenly another thought occurs to him. "Also, if the Professor rose, it is highly plausible that other bodies have arisen, and it would be a good idea for you to see if any graves were disturbed."

Skyrn stands behind Rauno quietly, holding the body and arms in his arms, partially shrouded by his cloak and aided by the nighttime shadows.

Breathing heavily, Skyrn begins to calm down and snap out of it when Morbury says his name. Sheathing his longsword, he looks over his shoulder and seeing Kendra he quickly nods his head and quickly gestures for the inquisitive Rauno to grab the head as Skyrn steps in front of the body and hugging the once-again inanimate corpse to his chest, carries it out of the house along with the severed arm. Once out of the house with all the zombie bits, he turns to Rauno to answer his question.
"I would think the priest would be the better option; what can the sheriff do? And I think we should stick to the shadows as to avoid creating a ruckus." Hiking up the body some and carrying it in his arms he asks Rauno to put the arm on top of the body, and then he heads off towards the town's temple of Pharasma. Talking as they are walking, he begins to think out loud. "I wonder if Ravengro frequently has the dead rise or is there a necromancer in town? And how did he know where his house was? I thought the risen dead tended to lose all of their memories of their life?"

Hearing the scream and jumping to his feet, Skyrn is a single pace behind Morbury when he removes an arm from the risen Professor. Roaring without words he charges right at the zombie drawing his blade and bringing it down on the walking corpse in a strong two-handed grip.

Barbarian Rage: +4 STR, +4 CON, -2 AC. Also, charging, so +2 to hit and -2 to AC. I currently have an AC of 14. Finally, Power Attacking.

Raising an eyebrow at being called "Sir Skyrn", Skyrn eats his dinner fairly quietly only speaking up towards the beginning to compliment Kendra on her cooking. When Morbury finishes, Skyrn thinks for a second before adding, "There were also rats and an unstable house. That's more or less all that we could see from the grounds."

As they approach town, Skyrn makes sure that his hood is sufficiently covering his scars once more before entering. Walking with everyone more or less silently, he speaks only to say, "I too would like to repay the Kendra for all that the Professor has done for me, as I cannot repay him/ Being an outcast is never easy." Falling back to silence, he continues with the rest of the group into town and back to the Lorrimor house.

"Hmm? Oh yes, let's." Jogging slightly to catch up with everyone else, Skyrn resumes his former position a pace behind and slightly to the side of Darcy.

Turning to Morbury, Skyrn begins to point out various problems with the structure's safety. "See those support beams? You can see the mold on the outside of them that comes as a result of the damp settling into the wood. I will practically guarantee that the wood within the beam is also rotten and ready to degrade at the slightest touch. And there, see the insect crawling across the floorboards? Those are a type of termite that prefers damp wood, they will almost have certainly have eaten through most of the bottom floor, if not the entire building; for protection's sake they don't eat the outer wood until last, which has the side effect of making the wood look whole, when in reality it is practically hollow. And look at the walls, see how they do not appear smooth? The elements have weathered them to the point of where I am sure that they will fall apart with virtually no effort. While all of these are slightly superficial signs of damage and decay, they tend to be warning signs for more significant damage else where that could prove dangerous."

Giving the decrepit manor house an appraising look, Skyrn speaks up and says, "Darcy, perhaps we should not enter this house; it looks rather unstable and it may have structural damage that may prove dangerous to us entering it..."

Taking a moment to throw his cloak off to give him a complete range of motion and tossing it on to a piece of convenient masonry, the afternoon light shines off of the small armory that he carries; a morningstar at his hip, a longsword on his back, with its hilt poking over his shoulder, a dagger on his opposite hip and an unusual metal circle attached to the small of his back by a leather thong. His disfigurement in full view for the first time since arriving in Ravengro, he draws his longsword and hustles to catch up with Darcy, staying just a single pace behind her, ready for anything to leap out at her like in the false crypt.

A tiny bit surprised at the question, Skyrn gladly answers. "Home? Home is north of here; it has no real country name as the land is warped by the very essence of chaos. It makes it a rather hostile environment to inhabit, but my people live there nevertheless. I hail from one of the few Kellid tribes that live just south of the planar phenomena known as the Worldwound."

Looking over his shoulder at Morbury as he walks by, Skryn stops to talk for a second. "Yes, this Harrowstone is rather intimidating and a bit on the creepy side, but it is just a building. I'd be far more concerned about what inhabits it. To be completely honest though, it reminds me a little of home." Turning back, Skyrn continues to lead the way into the grounds for a few feet before taking a good look around to see what is in the vicinity.

Perception Check as he examines the grounds from his position maybe ten to fifteen feet from the gate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Taking a long, careful look around as he approaches the door, what the others were saying does not register for a few seconds as Skyrn is entranced by the crumbling facade of aged prison.

"Perhaps we can merely scout out the grounds today, rather than enter the building proper? That way we can get a sense of all entrances and exits for the building before we actually go in and might need to make a quick getaway; and if we are outside, we can always disengage if need be," Skryn suggests as they approach the building proper and Rauno makes known his trepidation at entering the building not fully prepared.

Returning to the others (who are now at the house?) Skyrn approaches Rauno, and asks him a question. "I don't suppose I can borrow 20 gold? The item I need to pick up is more expensive than I recall it being..."

And assuming a yes
"Thank you, I will return it at my first oppurtunity." Taking the gold, Skyrn heads back out to the local alchemist's shop and obtains and alchemist's kit before heading back to Kendra's where he stows a few things, organizes the rest on his person, and spends an hour brewing his extract before heading back downstairs to the group.
"I'm sorry it took so long, but I am ready to leave now." A number of new bulges show in the pockets of his cloak and his shirt and two new small glass vials sit upon his belt, each filled with a clear liquid and on his other sits a much larger clay bottle that is giving off a slightly peppery scent.

Given an hour plus, would Darcy be back yet?

@Skyrn: I assume so as there are things that go across like with alchemists learning mixtures from wizard's books and I assume vice cersa. Unless you're on about the alchemist's kit which is for you to hold all your materials for potions, apart from componants that cost money like restoration for example.

Yeah, I'm just talking about the stuff for extracts, mutagens, and bombs, not potions. Also, while I can copy things from a wizard's spellbook, a wizard cannot copy from me.

"I too have a few supplies I would like to gather before we would head to Harrowstone; also, Kendra would there happen to be an alchemist's shop in town? I would like to pick up a thing or two before we leave."

Need to go pick up the Alchemist's equivalent of a Spell Component Pouch, seem to have forgotten it earlier; thankfully a Spell Component Pouch costs only 5 gp, so does an Alchemist's equivalent cost the same?

Slightly smiling as Morbury asks his question of Rauno, Skyrn pats him on the shoulder and adds his opinion to the matter. "I would not worry about it Morbury; Darcy is a very resourceful woman who has a knack for for finding things. Perhaps we should go the Unfurling Scroll and see if they have what Rauno needs?"

Excellent; I was wondering if I can take the Chirurgeon Archetype for the Alchemist, as I was already planning Alchemist to be next class anyways. If you don't have Ultimate Magic, it can be found here: Alchemist, it is towards the bottom of the page.

"I have not visited it, but I imagine that the Unfurling Scroll would sell scrolls. Surely we can visit and see what it costs before setting out, and I would be more than willing to contribute with what funds I do have on me."

"While I do know how to use one, though I am a fair bit better with a blade, I'm afraid I do not have a bow, and as for funds, all I have is a few pieces of gold and silver, but not a significant amount of either I am afraid; most of my money was used to pay for my tuition."

Thinking for a second, Skyrn suggests an alternative. "There is a pawn shop in town, is there not? Perhaps we could pawn one or two of the more expensive arrows, purchase a bow, and then see about getting the arrows back if we find any unused equipment and goods in Harrowstone?"

Listening intently, Skyrn responds to his question regarding Gibs, "Well, for one thing, he most certainly is not deserving of any honorifics. But his less-then-personable manner aside, he says that he does not recall the events of last night and I am inclined to believe him. The sheriff also found a large rat drained of its blood, the most likely source of the blood that was contained in the flask."

Walking alongside Darcy, Skyrn smiles a bit when he hears her comment and speaks up, "For some reason? Not to put too fine a point on it, but if what the sheriff said was accurate, you do fit the mold of a..." and taking a moment to select the right word, "non-traditional woman. I'm fairly certain he would not get along with any of the women in my tribe either; any one of them most likely would have gutted him like a goat if he made the same comments to them that he made to you. All things considered, I think you showed remarkable restraint."

Awakening to the scent of the food being cooked, Skyrn rises from his bed and dresses himself before going downstairs. Arriving, he sees the food spread upon the table and turns to Kendra, "Thank you for this breakfast, but it was unnecessary; you already have given us a place to stay."
Sitting at the table, Skyrn begins to eat his breakfast with much gusto; when the rest of the group arrives and Morbury goes over the plan for the day, Skyrn speaks up once more: "I would like to visit Mr. Gibs in the jail. I am very curious to know what it was he was doing last night."

Unsurprised at the information that the Professor's death was not an accident, Skyrn makes sure that Kendra was not harmed by the spirit and that Darcy will be alright before excusing himself and retiring upstairs.
