Alright well since Skalv's knowledge check is unlikely to really change his action beyond "murdering the crap out of them with his sword" I'll go ahead and post.

Skalv lets the bite scrape off his armor, roaring and bringing down another crosscut. "UU, do not break!" He snarls. Damned demon tricks.

Skalv reacts quickly, launching forward to put himself between the enemies and his allies, sword held ready.

"Mel, can you watch the door? Make sure nobody comes to avenge their fallen allies." Skalv searches the bodies and the room for any valuables (which it seems there are none of) and then looks further into the museum. "Well, I would say that plan worked well. Do we want to repeat it, this time into the museum?" He suggests.

Skalv holds his blade, tip placed in the dirt, waiting patiently for the return of his allies when the sound of combat reaches his ears.

With a quick glance to Angahaar, Skalv rushes into the room.

Six tieflings, two down. We still have the drop on them. Not quite close enough to get a strike in, Skalv keeps moving and jumps up onto the table, scattering their cards and drinks under his heavy hooves.

Skalv will double move and climb onto the table, that way he has the high ground and is threatening all of the tieflings, which will be good if any of them want to start casting spells.

Skalv bows his head to UU as she finishes the healing. He does a quick search of the demons, not expecting anything of note, then wipes the blood from his sword. "Forward. There are more demons to cleanse."

Ah I thought you were wanting to save the rest of your channels for some reason. Yes I'm totally fine with holding onto the potion, although I suppose I will let the GM make that call since I already rolled it. Either way Skalv will be at full now, as you say, and the only question is if he has one more potion of CLW.

Perhaps in a non-gestalt game it may be a way to build UU. But hybrid classes can easily get messy when combined with gestalt.

Hey downing the enemies sooner means they do less overall damage, no complaints here.

Ah yes that might have been the source of it. I suppose in a way you are essentially going to be a sacred fist warpriest on steroids.

Cool, I always think that's best for "non special" enemies. But I've had a number of GMs in the past that go "Well it looks like you healed all the dying enemies so we're back in initiative again", so I like to make sure :)

Skalv sneers down at the felled demons. As Udaya's double-strike fells one and cuts into his dying body, Skalv steps above the other one and plants the tip of the blade on its chest. "You have been judged." His weight comes down and the blade plunges forward until it bites into the ground.

Skalv nods to UU, both in respect to her martial abilities as well as appreciation of her healing. "Angahaar, you seemed to take the worst of that." He says with a look of minor concern. He takes one of the potions from his growing collection, ripping the stopper off his his teeth and throwing it back.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Statline updated, Skalv heals 10 from UU and 8 from the CLW potion, putting him at full hp.

Why did I think UU was a warpriest? Perhaps it was the hybrid of flurry and divine abilities that made me think "sacred fist warpriest".

As for channel energy, since it doesn't look like UU has selective channel, I will assume that UU hit the last demon with both of her attacks, and Skalv will coup de grace the other one. Since these demons came physically to our plane they will drop and bleed out like the rest of us.

Udaya, I notice you have channel energy, which is a fantastic source of AoE healing so I'll hold off on drinking my potions to see if she will offer that. But I have a question (and please pardon my ignorance of the warpriest class which I've never played); I thought warpriests don't gain channel energy until level 4?

I always roll my dice in chronological order. I find that's the best way to keep everything organized and avoid any funny business.

Skalv is unprepared for the wave of destructive energy and suffers the worst of it. But that doesn't stop him from pressing the attack, stepping after the demon and bringing his blade down!

I'm going to assume that since the enemy is titled "Demons", that they are in fact demons and I can apply my bonuses against such enemies :P

"RAAHHHHH!" Skalv follows behind Angahaar, cloven hooves tearing the ground apart before he crashes violently into the melee, his sword crashing down with his full weight behind it!

AC is currently 2 lower from charging, making is 20/8/20.

Also, as an FYI, if Skalv ever downs an enemy after making a single attack in a round, he will use his Gory Finish feat to intimidate all foes within 30 feet (assuming he hasn't spent his swift action on smite or lay on hands).

Skalv breathes in slowly as they approach what is likely to be a long and bloody engagement. He closes his eyes, facing the group and bowing his head. "General, cast your eyes on us and shield us with your wings." He opens his eyes, raising his head. "So. Charge? Or something more...subtle?" He inquires, clearly showing he's not much of a tactician but willing to listen to advice.

I've got some additional healing as well, in the form of some potions and lay on hands. But these potions are significantly better than that I can offer.

Jack Daniels, what is the caster level of the healing potions? It's important to know how much they heal.

Even distribution of healing, giving the wands to those who can use them. The Chime I say is given to Mel since he's part rogue, which means it's his responsibility for getting things unlocked if need be. As for the arrows, it looks like Mel is the best among us with a bow, so I say he gets the lion's share of the bane arrows. Skalv and Angahaar are both proficient with and have bows so throw a couple arrows to them in case the situation arises, and I think UU doesn't have proficiency/possession of a bow. How does that sound?

Skalv nods to the intel. If he was bothered at all by the mention of tieflings as the enemy, or the assumption that the group would be wiping them all out, he certainly doesn't show it.

"So, we shall wait for your attack and use the opening created to strike them where they are most vulnerable. A sort of poetic justice in that since they plan to do the same." He observes. As the gear is laid out his eyebrows go up in surprise; he can't identify most of it, but he recognizes the potions and assumes the rest of the gear is magical as well.

Assuming somebody explains to Skalv what the items are:

"These supplies will prove invaluable. Thank you Irabeth. May your lady's light guide our swords, and may my lord's fire temper their edges."

See discussion for my thoughts on loot distribution. Skalv has no preparations to make.

Skalv only manages to grasp the simplest of the planar references, going silent as the gravity of the situation is revealed. He struggles to wrap his around the implications. He had never been a strong tactician, but the brutal simplicity of the suspected plan was plain enough: direct all their forces at one location, then strike the locations left defenseless.

As Irabeth simplifies the problem his brows furrow and he flashes a humorless grin. "Search and destroy, cutting down anyone in our path. I'm in." He says, obviously relishing the chance to make an offensive move against the demon horde. He doesn't even pause to ask about details, expectations, or even a description of the wardstone.

Upon Entrance

Skalv looks at the wounded and dying with anger. In any other situation he would not hesitate to use his limited healing powers on them, but experience over the last day has taught him that he can't save everyone, especially if he sacrifices himself. He steels himself. He will make things right by spilling the blood of the creatures that spilt theirs. An eye for an eye doesn't eliminate their suffering, but it dissuades the enemy from taking more eyes.

If the stares bothered Skalv, he doesn't let it show. He's had a lot of stares from a lot of places. Looks don't mean much to him.

Present

Skalv nods to the men guarding Irabeth, moving past them once cleared.

Skalv inclines his head to the half-orc paladin. He had respect for anyone carrying the same mantle as him, but he had a special recognition for another paladin born to a 'monstrous' race. It was something they had in common, even if their experiences were likely very different.

Skalv takes his seat along with the others, giving Mel a moment to introduce himself. "Thanks. We're here because we want to lend our aid however we can, and want to do it in a smart way since obviously we can't defeat this horde in an open brawl. We were wondering if you had any plans and how we can help." He says simply.

Skalv follows, wolfing down the bread and eyeing the other two people follow him and the woman out. After UU gives the breakdown he gives a grim smile. "Well, I wanted to go where demons were needed to be fought. The gods seemed to have a cruel interpretation of my wish." He gives a dark chuckle at the mention of lewd comments. "Well at least morale isn't completely gone if men are still acting like that." He says with an apologetic look.

He pauses at Angahaar's words. "No doubt that sitting here doing nothing is delaying the inevitable. But I doubt we have the power to throw off these hoards, at least alone. I've had to retreat more times than I've had to in my entire life."

"Melchesiech, well met. You seem to have a keen understanding of what's going on." He eyes the bird. Reminds me of Tiasar and Lia from the forest. And smart too, likely a wizard like they are. As he looks at the elf he tilts his head, absentmindedly touching his earrings.

"UU, my family name is Aelfarael, and his name is Melchesiech. We already have to deal with the worst of elven names, we won't balk from yours."

The tiefling exhales sharply through his nose and nods. "Indeed, I came here to clash with the demon hoards. But I did not expect them to meet me so eagerly." He takes the food with a grateful lowering of his head, immediately setting into the bread. "Thank you. I have had this blade at my side for half a century, a gift from my mentor. Although it took me many years to be able to use it properly with a shield." He takes another bite of bread, savoring the warmth of the yeast. "So what's the situation like? This is the first moment I've had to collect my thoughts since hell came to Kenabres."

Skalv's stomach audibly growls in response to Angahaar's mention of food. His follows the scion's gaze to the woman waving jerky above them. "Yes, by the gods I'm starving. I haven't eaten since before the attack."

He makes his way upstairs, metal boots thudding against the wooden steps. He finds the woman and approaches, inclining his head. "Pardon, I saw you passing out rations. Is there enough for a newcomer?"

The grime-covered paladin turns to face Angahaar, face going through a wheel of emotions; first suspicion, then surprise, then sorrow. "Angahaar, last scion of Terendelev. I am sorrowed at the loss of Kenabres’s greatest guardian, but glad something of her yet lives." He clasps the scion's hand with a fierce grip. "I wish we could have met under better circumstances. But all is not lost, there are fights to be had, and we may yet become shield-brothers on the battlefield."

Udaya, Skalv's description above is a pretty good sum of what he looks like. Probably the weirdest thing you notice is his elven features and jewelry, meaning he was likely born to elves strangely enough.
