OCC: Well thank you for that Ciri but I the player do not fully comprehend how that would change Rhaym's current position. He has been accused of being a coward by this Mother of the Masses when she should obviously know that he has not in any way been such a thing. As she should be fully aware of his actions as well as his intentions but seems not to be so.

Rhaym is filled with understanding and knowledge that he previously did not have or simply did not remember. Of that, what he could understand and interlize he did, thus making him feel even stronger in his current righteousness in the face of the wrongful condemnation by the Mother of the Masses and he stands firmly looking at her in his more complete understanding of his current position and her wrongful, for whatever reason, condemnation of his recent actions. He simply turns his head slightly in Ciri's direction and says, "Thank you princess for that gift, and I feel for your loss and thank you that you would share that with me. Perhaps I might fill the missing shoes of your brother and stand by you as needed when needed as I have already been trying to do."

OCC: As a player I appreciate what the player of Ciri is doing but I puzzle over the seemingly constant condemnation by the dm to their players, not just me but all the players. Condemning the player's characters in-game to me is a woefully wrong thing to do especially considering that nearly all role players have or had some issues with self-esteem which is what interested them (knowingly or unknowingly) in role playing games to begin with (understand the psychology of roleplayers). Further constantly degrading the characters and thus their players is not a good way to make the game enjoyable for them and will lead (or already has led) to folks deciding to depart the game rather than continue to suffer the indirect abuse being put forth by the person that should be the most interested in keeping this game alive, the one that is running it. I would remind said person that there is no game without players and that players usually out number the one running the game on at least a two to one basis making the players at least twice as important to the game as the single person running it. I seriously hope this reminder helps this game in some way.

"Look I do not mean any disrespect to you but I was in the back due to other individuals like you saying I was not welcome here and I did not want to hinder the group from their mission by inserting myself and causing retaliation to the entire group.

Now this did seem to occur and as such I retreated from the area, however then that persepective changed as if this were actually sacred ground as I was led to believe then the others would not be fighting things and therefore I returned, making me believe even more that those previous beings that were supposed to be good were the ones that should actually have their honor put into question.

Now chastising me for not being omnipotent and those other such beings as yourself acting suspiciously and without honor and making statements that are misleading is not my fault. So I will not take the blame for their transgressions as that was outside my control. Further your calling me a coward is extremely rude and equally wrong and you should apologise.

Now if you wish, and have the right to strip my paladin powers from me for actually being a quality paladin, then so be it. However, that will not change who I am nor what I stand for, it will simply greatly hinder my ability to do what it is I have been called to do.

Now if my diety were to choose to allow me to understand each situation with complete clarity then I am sure there would be no issues at all but this is not the case. I have to function with what I have, as lacking as it is, and with what I know, which is equally lacking, and pray that what I do is the best for the situation at hand."

OCC: Does Rhaym even know who this person is? I mean the others seem to know her but I the player was not here earlier so I am not even sure if Rhaym knows her. However, due to the responses from the others I am assuming Rhaym is at least familiar with her.

OCC: What you got Jamalla in range to do that, thought she might have done it last round since she was in range then as well. Rhaym has to get within range.

With the information that the liquid like thing could be harmed by blunt weapons Rhaym pulls out his Warhammer as he moves forward scrutinizing the thing as he does so {Detect Evil} to see if there was more to it than just what it appeared to be.

As it appears whatever they are dealing with Rhaym would only get in the way he stands back with Thoron and prayers that they will be safe and vanquish these uh... creatures of uh... harmful intent.

Rhaym having stepped out of the room to await to hear what the others have found and then seeing the flash of fire realizes something is amiss. If this were truly the white tower there would be no need for combat. So he once more joins the Princess and Thoron to get a better understand of what actually is going on.

Rhayam backs off in case as Thoron has said he is the cause of the current situation even though that seems extremely odd to him all things considered.

Believing that they are entering the White Tower and not feeling he needs to protect the princess within this tower, he follows along behind as a regular part of her retinue.

OCC: That made no sense. So I will make it simple, if the others go to enter Rhaym will attempt to walk in with them. Does anything happen when he does this.

Male Human Paladin-8 | HP 97 / 97 AC 27+ T 11 FF 24| Lay Hands 9/9 (4d6) | Smite 3/3 | CMB +14/+9 CMD 24 | F +12 R +7 W +8 | Init +2

"So this is the entrance to the White Tower?" he pauses a moment after the question before continuing with, "The one that we are here to help and they deny us access. Instead of just leaving Thoron, perhaps your friend George could talk some sense into those two. I would think they would let us in so that we can better help them be rid of the black tower and to re-establish the white tower to its former glory."

Rhaym sheaths his sword and replies, "As you have said, there has naught been anything but evil here, and that is what we also have found thus far and as I said your withholding from attacking the skeletons did not speak well of your goodness." 'And still does not.' Rhaym thinks to himself. "That you are sentinals suggests that you protect something, may I ask what it is? For we have come here to put an end to the evil of the dark tower and anything that might aid us in this quest would be a blessing for sure."

Male Human Paladin-8 | HP 97 / 97 AC 27+ T 11 FF 24| Lay Hands 9/9 (4d6) | Smite 3/3 | CMB +14/+9 CMD 24 | F +12 R +7 W +8 | Init +2

"Well you do not appear to be evil, but that does not make you good and the fact that the two of you stood back and did nothing while evil presented itself means you are now guilty by association and that does not bode well for you. So explain yourselves, and perhaps I will resheathe my sword before sheathing it within your bodies first."

OCC: While he is stating simple truth from his point of view but I suppose it could be seen as intimidation so just in case I will roll that but that is not necessarily his intent.

Intimidation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Rhaym looks at the creatures in the back and scrutinizes them as he moves closer {Detect Evil}.

OCC: I thought the two Chimera looking things were aslo skeleton versions is that incorrect? If incorrect can you describe them again, please thank you.

Note: If they are not skeletal like creatures, he will put his War Hammer away and pull out his Bastard Sword.

Sir Rhaym having pulled out his War Hammer unleashes a full powerful attack on the skeletons in front of him, focussing on the one in front the princess first.

Power Attack -3 To Hit +6 Damage

1st Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
2nd Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

1st Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
2nd Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

OCC: I am curious with Power Attack must you always use the full penalty or can you choose to use it incrementally -- -1 To Hit +2 Damage --or-- -2 To Hit +4 Damage --or-- -3 To Hit +6 Damage ??

Note I am okay with the plan just wanted to be clear on what we are doing while Ciri is not with us.

"That is okay Beldar we have a high wizard we can take it to her and let her look it over."

Rhaym will try to take Beldar to see Ciri and to present her with the invisible map.

Okay based on what I have read, as a player, I am a bit confused.

I thought our ultimate goal is to destory the Black Tower so I do not see how finding and entering the White Tower would be a bad thing.

If the White Tower is protected it would mostly be protected from evil not good. Further one would think IMO that there might be answers to the question of how one finds and destroys the Black Tower. Or at least how to restore the White Tower which would also be a good thing I would think.

As to our ultimate goal, I do not see not entering the Black Tower (but I could be wrong) is going to allow us to destory it. Usually you have to destroy strong evil from the inside out where it is the weakest.

Is there not a way to identify if an item is cursed without accepting its curse?

Personally I never give out a truly cursed item, I give out items that if cursed are a mixed blessing. Where someone might be tempted to where the devise despite the curse. Or the curse is simply a device with an attitude such as cat boots that refuse to get wet and require constant grooming.

Aka giving out a totally worthless item is to me totally meaningless and does not add at all to the fun of the game for the players. So if the game is about fun then why do that?

"I would think finding the White Tower, which we were told has an entrance on the first tier going down would be the best. They may actually have more information about the Black Tower that we need to put it fully out of commission. From my learning, charging headlong into battle without knowing one's enemy the best that one can usually proves disasterous."

"As for sleeping arrangements I believe the princess should take the main chamber and the rest of us can utilize the barracks. If you like princess I could lend you my man servant for the evenings if that might make your stay in these less than regal settings a bit more palatable."

Rhaym upgrading to a +2 Shield of the Lion of Mitra and +2 Full Plate is plenty for him in the protection front at this point so Fralk should take the +2 Ring

However if their is a +1 Ring available after everyone has taken what they can use Rhaym could don that as well for the time being.

Oh and yes Rhaym would definitely want to utilize a +1 Hammer in case we run into any more skeletons.

Personally I do not look at it as calling dibs per se at least not for Rhaym. He just considers it borrowing it until we have concluded things and sit down and officially divvy things out.

Yes did not know we had that thanks Ciri.

Also are any of the following items being used by anyone?

+2 full plate

Also can you group these by category as: Weapons, Armors, Misc for you have them all listed under Weapons which does not make good sense to me. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest someones using those two rings of protection those armor upgrades would be sufficient for Rhaym. Note I am technically borrowing them if when this is over the group allows me to keep them as part of my share great.

Rhaym proceeds to get an education on undead skeletons from Thoron.

Note/Query for Circle of Protection from Evil:
These skeletons are considered summoned yes/no?

Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.
