Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Hi guys! GM, would you please be so kind to put me on the inactive list? Thanks!

What is that stat-wise, like a poor man's scythe?

Right! It's like a big improvised weapon hehe :)

Hi DM Chubbleston, Chess here. I apologize for the last minute submission but I hope I'm still on time. I present Shogunto, Human Barbarian, a local Wati gardener/guide with aspirations for a better future. He rages and fights with a crevice weeder.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto drinks some water in silence, for times closing his eyes to think.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto followed with the others, shaking his head in agreement. Finally, seeing some of the other recruits introducing themselves, he did the same.

Shogunto. - he said, bumping on his chest and making a friendly nod with his head.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Uninterested in working as a leader, Shogunto follow with the others with Lay Z. When the short man finally asks about weapons, the Human replies slowly.

As my colleague mentioned... I could use a suit of armor. Something light, probably, would be better. As for weapons, anything simple. Even just a spear would fit me fine.

Although his voice is humble, it's fairly clear he doesn't tremble. His behavior has something more controlled, calculated; his hands don't shake, but his fingers seem to snap in every gesture he makes. He looks deeply in the officer's eyes, and something about the frail young man seems to spell danger. It's not comfortable to be on his presence.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto was a frail young man, shy and covered by rugged clothes. His expectations for life were never great, yet it all became worse when he first had the episodes involving the mysterious outsider that takes over his body and fuses with him. As time passed he learned to control it and understand better the arcane powers which came with the "curse".

Their friendship was all that sustained the teenager from being bullied into death, and that's where he took his strength from; yet, he knew somehow a day like that would come. With his humble origins, it was actually kind of a blessing in disguise to see that his life was sold to help feed his impoverished family.

Seeing the people around him taking positions and stances, the human just tried to fade more in his corner. He moved his hands with delicacy, remembering the arcane words, but didn't cast any spells or even tried to fuse with his eidolon - instead preferring to simply pray for the best to happen to his now far away family.

Dotting! Will have a better post later. Thanks for the invite.

Thanks! Hoping to see my companions for the tortur... I mean, adventures, soon :)

Not missing the drawback - it has the "Power Hungry" drawback.

Hi LegitDM! Here's my attempted submission for the intriguing game: A young boy with otherworldly abilities... And the natural hunger for power that comes with it.

So... Getting a +1 weapon and 650 is around 3000 gold. It's more than I used, but half of my gold went on my full plate. Can I keep my gear as it is or should I re-orc-anise (huh? huh?) it?

Hi GM! I have Shogunto here, to present. He's a half-orc fighter with an orc skull ram. As old school as they come :)

Hi GM! Chess here. Here's my submission: Shogunto is an Orc Paladin of Thor. I got the Mindsword archetype, but just to be able to throw my weapon (and have some utility while ranged too) - I don't care about any of the psychic babble and don't plan on using any of it (so, GM, please feel free to cut it out the archetype). I gave him "Profession Driver" imagining we might need a "pilot" of sorts for our piracy (instead of Profession Sailor, I guessed - let me know if I did wrong).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hey Green Tea! Chess here. Thanks for bringing some Forgotten Realms for us, and - wow - Chrono Trigger. Nice!

Anyway, here's my submission - Shogunto Heineous, rogue and brawler dying to get back into the adventure ;) The profile already has backstory and sheet, and I'll be adding some more meat (appearance, behavior, etc.) on the next couple days.

Thanks again for the consideration! :)

Hey guys, I'm stepping out of the run. Have fun!

Shogunto is a Ranger/Druid. The "Hunter" thing is just because of the feat "Shapeshifting Hunter" that confuses me, so I dumbtyped it wrong. Shogunto will keep evolving in both - I think two more levels of Ranger and everything else druid, something on these lines. :)

I submit Shogunto here for appreciation. I'm still working on his backstory, but wanted at least to dot here and show what's in place already. Shogunto is a Hunter/Druid: he packs trapfinding and survival skills, and fights in melee with natural attacks. Thanks for the opportunity :)

Updated with background :)

Here's my submission with the adjusted HP.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto sticks around, silent. The scary half-Orc looks tired and overwhelmed by the presence of his familiar (merged with him at the moment).

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto merges back with his familiar. Tired, the half-Orc sits on the floor to meditate, and murmurs a prayer to Pharasma. The Lady is happy today. He remains then silent, closed eyes, waiting for the others. It looks as if he's "digesting" some unwanted food, very uncomfortable with it. The air around him is again heavy, dense as death itself.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

If Elenuta cast the magic missiles without making it defensively, big ugly head takes AoO.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Independently of it, in their round, the familiar attacks again.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Right after, if the caster is still standing, Shogunto uses the Slumber Hex against her.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Crush her face to the floor, my minion. - says Shogunto, looking at his familiar - that keeps smashing on Elenuta.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The half-Orc himself, however, gets ready to Slumber (DC 18) Nicasor as soon as he appears. He will let his team strike first and take his readied action last.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto casts a spell (glitterdust; dc 18 for blindness). He pronounces the arcane words almost as if yelling a curse, and the enemy is surrounded by small sparks of light.

Shogunto's familiar keeps mindlessly attacking the now hexed enemy.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Ok! Forgot to ask: and the Evil Eye?

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Sorry for asking - did Elenuta cast a spell, non defensively? Should the big ugly head take an AoO against her?

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto focus his Evil Eye on the caster , trying to beat her protections. During this while, the familiar head keeps approaching her and trying to slam while moaning terrifyingly.

For Evil Eye, the DC is 18 Will. The effect is AC -2; success means it lasts only for this round. Failure means it will last for a while.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 For obvious enemy DC 10

The pale dead eyes of Shogunto shine, emotionless, as he unmerges with his familiar. The undead large head appears above his head. The half-orc grunts in anger, as his face slowly takes back its living color, and he points to Elenuta.

The familiar head moves and the teeth pops prominently, advancing to slam the caster while moaning terrifyingly.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Standard action from Shogunto to unmerge; move (if needed) and standard from the familiar to get in reach and attack. The head is floating above us (if possible, to avoid squeezing)

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Sorry, excellent point! I will merge again with the familiar before crossing.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

I wasn't on the order he specified, but please assume both me and the familiar are somewhere in the middle.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto's familiar start carrying the other people around, one by one. Some people can just climb the large flying Giant head, while he can "bite" others clothes and armors to pull them across.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Can my familiar fly around and carry people?

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto steps "out" of the shared space with his familiar and uses his evil eye against another target (White).

Grey should be under its effects for 4 rounds.

The familiar moves after Shogunto to cover him again.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

If these are actual shadows, then I believe we might have already identified shadows before assuming where we are and what we have been dealing with; I'll work under this assumption.

Having not much more he could do, Shogunto tries to act as fast as he can. First, he will look in the eyes of the closest shadow and show his terrible gaze.

Evil Eye DC 18 for Attacks -2

Next, he will try to move to a wall and order his familiar to move and place himself in front of him, in an attempt to at least give him total concealment from the attacks of the shadows.

Limp Lash can be fairly awesome, but it's a relatively easy to escape spell if the target can just move out of its range. Plus, even though it doesn't give a save, it allows Spell Resistance (and if the creature is immune to ability damage, it doesn't do squat!). When it works, though (especially if the caster lucks out like I did and crit!) it can be very effective :)

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Rennai: I believe you forgot to roll the Will save for my Evil Eye? If he fails, he is still with AC -2. Otherwise, his AC is now back to normal, as I managed to create a witch without cackle! Ouch!

Shogunto casts a spell (Limp Lash). He pronounces the words, and an immense whip made of energy appears in his hands. He tries to hit the creature with it.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
STR damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
DEX damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
CON damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Confirming Crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
STR damage (if it confirms): 1d6 ⇒ 1
DEX damage (if it confirms): 1d6 ⇒ 6
CON damage (if it confirms): 1d6 ⇒ 3

The familiar keeps mindlessly attacking.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

He is terrible at it!

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto moves to squeeze on the same square as Elenuta, and uses his Evil Eye against the enemy (AC -2; DC 18 Will, succeed for 1 round only).

The familiar keeps attacking.

Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

... But the big head misses again, horribly as itself!

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto touches his familiar, giving it Ironskin, and orders it to move and attack. The floating head moves to enter the room, and proceeds to attack. It has to squeeze to enter the room, and uses the last feet of movement to tumble 5-feet up hoping to avoid an AoO and not block the doorway.

The familiar current AC is 23; it's large, though, so I fixed the token on the map

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

It then proceeds to try to slam the heart.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

I didn't add the bless to the attack because I wasn't sure it it happened before or not.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto closes his eyes and mutters some words - they don't seem to come from any known language. Maybe it's not even him that is saying the words. His eyes start smoking a thin, white cloud.

Fear not. I'm in control. - he says, both in Common and in Shadowtongue.

Finally, his familiar unmerges with him. The creature is a giant floating head, clearly undead, but also clearly under his orders. Shogunto's eyes turn back to a more orcish color - a dark green.

Come, accursed companion. Fight again for his master.

He proceeds to cast arcane spells in both himself and the head (Mage Armor), and looks to the rest of the party - as ready as he'll ever be.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Well, we could start the people gathering with old friends, right? - Shogunto says, responding Kinvara as he enters the room rejoining the group - I'm glad to be back with you, as much as the place is... Surprising.

The eyes of the gloomkin half-orc witch are even more sinister than before. He's obviously not blind, but they shine a pale light - grim, morbid, almost necessarily accompanied by a cold wind through the spine.

The humanoid seems uncomfortable, as if suffering some sort of pain for containing something inside of himself. It's clearly taking a toll at him, but he still manages to genuinely smile back at the party.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Hey guys! I'm sorry, but I'm stepping out of the game. With a baby on the way here, my already limited time will now be terrible, so I'm reducing my online activities overall. I wish you all fun! Take care, and thanks GM Rennai again for the opportunity :)

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

It's Sylvan... The language of the Fey. I can't understand it, though. - Shogunto tells the others.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Sorry! I missed the rolls!

Know (Arcana): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Linguistics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

This is a Wax Golem. Vulnerable to fire, but resistant to any other spells which would allow him to resist. As most constructs, he's fairly immune to a number of other things, like poisons and mind affects. Some of them can even develop sentient...

He follows listing what golems and constructs are usually resistant or immune to. Finally, he tries to understand the schematics with his linguistics.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto touches himself and casts Mage Armor. He steps back, looking at the monster, and all the present can see his eyes emit now a blue "smoke", with the pallid feel of the dead. It's if he's possessed, somehow. He's not effectively attacking the golem, but absolutely ready to do so if needed.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Shogunto was so focused he didn't notice anything else happening. His mind traveled, trying to picture everything and put the pieces together.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto follows in silence, paying absolute attention to what's being talked. He wasn't much of a talker. He thanked Vitali cordially, with a smile and a bow, but still trying to keep to himself the most he could.

When Kinvara asks Xander if some people should stay behind - instead of going to talk to Groy - he approached. He knew his appearance could be unsettling some times but, after all, he was a pathfinder from a common race. He imagined that - without knowing much more about what the witch could do - he wouldn't raise too many alarms.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Shogunto accompanied the diplomats, but kept a certain distance behind. He'd assume that half-Orcs are common enough to not raise suspicions, but kept his hood covering his head anyway, and tried to stay in the shadows. No point in threatening a well conducted agreement - but he preferred staying close to his pathfinders just in case they need his help.

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

Lol sorry :)

Male Human (Keleshite) Barbarian (Feral Gnasher) 1

It makes sense! - says Shogunto, agreeing with Kinvara and covering his face with a piece of cloth.

It was noticeable that his hands looked a little bulkier and rougher than you'd expect even from a half-Orc, as if something supernatural was in effect there. Like the dhampirs, there was something on him reminding of death, as if he was tainted by undeath somehow. Yet, he looked perfectly alive.

Just trying to portrait the effects of being merged with my familiar... The book is kind of vague on this matter :)

Heading to the inn sounds like a good plan to me. We can set lodging for the night, do some questioning around and leave later to investigate the rest of the city. - he complements while walking, smiling to Milovic (although it can't be seen under the cloth).
