Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Hey all, sorry for the extra delay - we started back up at what turned out not to be a great moment for me :-/
Shabah stirs in the swirls of their blood and lashes out in wounded fury! Starting with the crab, then 5-footing over to engage green with whatever's left (losing the +2 from Flank whenever that happens)
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah floats after Yanda, seizing on the distraction she provides to tear into the crab creature chasing her! With flank, vs. Charging AC
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah is uncertain exactly what sort of being is attacking them, but is more than capable of dismantling strange foes as well! Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 - 1 = 17
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
If the door opens that'll change Shabah's turn. If it's open and seems like a better place for airbreathers, then they'll push Yanda on through and try to catch and redirect anyone else coming down the corridor.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
In that case, Shabah will re-anoint for the DR (Down to 3/7 uses of Mercurial Oil).
Shabah's Swim: 10 + 8 + 8 = 26
Shabah isn't too troubled by the sudden rush of water, their mighty limbs and careful shapeshifting giving them plenty of power where they lack expertise.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah resurfaces from their underwater inspections. "I expect that this floor is sometimes drained, or was in the past. Else it's hard to guess what the grates in the floor might be for..." Good to continue on to the unopened door back in the mud-room!
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah's fangs contort into a small, pleased grin. "A pleasure to see your ordinance in action, Ms. Yanda." They swim through the assorted debris, keeping a wary eye on the portal. "Unfortunately such portals are far from my areas of expertise, but I will see what can be determined." Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Now that they've drawn much closer to the elemental, Shabah is able to divert much more of their attention to tearing it asunder! Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 11 - 1 = 23
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah jets forward, jaws bared, but finds the more diffuse spray of the whirling elemental much harder to come to grips with... Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 - 1 = 12
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
I thought you meant like the mudlord but bigger! Shabah slides forward on their tentacles to tear the elemental asunder! "This one should be far less of a trial with your explosives at the ready." Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 - 1 = 12
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah daubs their armor with another treatment of Mercurial Oil before, with some frustration, turning up nothing in the storage room beyond a pair of well-crafted snorkels. "You may find this useful if we face another protracted battle, but if you thrash about too much, or sink, then you will fill it with water in any case." *** Shabah takes the lead, armor freshly anointed 3 uses down so far as they splash their way into the room, tentacles spread out in a pale imitation of a true Cecaelia's sensory net.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah nods wearily, and propels themself towards the western door with contractions of their many tentacles. "I can continue, for a time. There is no need to withdraw on my account." Makes sense GM :-)
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah can't respond through the mouthful of mud, but their straining back muscles certainly look confident? Grappling not included
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
"hrrgllIt can'tbrrgirrggll keep thisrrrgglll up much longergglll" Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 11 - 1 = 11
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
I'm assuming the aid was towards fighting? If so I'll use it on the Chomp! Shabah's gratitude is muffled by water, but thankfully no longer mud as well, but they take no time to surface, instead continuing their relentless assault on their muddy foe! Bite (PA, Aid): 1d20 + 11 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 1 + 2 = 17
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
My -1 to hit is from Power Attack The focused grimace on Shabah's face gradually shifts to one more triumphant, as the tide begins to turn with their allies' support! Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 11 - 1 = 28
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Good (if unfortunate) tally, yeah Shabah's face becomes a rictus of pain and concentration as they try to carve their way free from the goop that binds them with all the extra strength Yanda's providing them. -2 Atk, but also -2 AC, so....
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Flat-Footed is indeed 19 - 7 armor, 2 natural armor (monstrous physique and mutagen both provide a non-stacking +2 Natural Armor, alas)
Shabah replies in a stream of bubbles to Yanda's query, but seems for the moment determined to escape by simply carving their way free! Grapple penalty not included since the -2 AC evens it out
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
It's definitely fuzzy, but here's James Jacobs talking about aquatic natural attacks not being affected.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah's altered eyes widen in surprise and distaste at the surprising creature. "Some sort of mud creature is attacking!" Then, they set to punishing it for its transgression! Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 1 = 14
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Just Darkvision and reach on their tentacles. Real Cecaelia can use their tentacles for blindsight, but alas, Monstrous Physique does not permit it.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
I'd expect so ::shrug:: Shabah waits patiently behind Dasus, only advising in a low voice, "We should decide on a pattern for our search. Perhaps we should begin by turning left at each intersection." After all - 'Left is always Right'
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah fishes out their wand and offers it to whoever is willing to use it. "Most sensible, Firewarden. Shall Sir Dasus and I continue to take the lead?" CLWs: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Hey - before the swarm of diminutive, non-splash-damageable crabs things were going great :-p Shabah emerges, dripping and displeased, their mass of tentacles not quite as fast on land as they were while swimming.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Shabah, looking far more like the form they had met their companions in than when they had been a cyclopean monster, is somewhat nonplussed by Yanda's question. But also, their mouth is still too covered by crabs to reply...
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Vile! The crabs crawling all over Shabah discomfited them far too much to bear, so they withdrew, hoping to draw the crustaceans to dry land where Yanda might make short work of them.
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Brow creasing in concern over the fragmented nature of their expedition, Shabah sets themself to tearing apart the offending elemental. Bite (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 11 - 1 = 23
Confirm?: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 1 = 8
Agender Cecaelia Metamorph 5 | HP 37/38 | AC 21, T 12, FF 19 | F +8, R +9, W +5 | Shapechange 0/2 | Mercurial Oil 3/7
Sorry everyone. Must've accidentally cleared notifications :-| "Mr. Prynn, will you be joining us or should we await the end of this orb?" Shabah concentrates and their body shifts once more. Their eye splits back into two, their wings fold back up into shoulder muscles, and their legs divide into countless wriggling tentacles. Their tusks were longer, and claws still sprouted from their hands, but all in all they looked much more like the form they had first greeted their new colleagues in - except the tentacles... "It seems my preferred battle form may not be of as much use in this flood." Shifting to a Cecaelia for the swim speed; I'll be real sad if I need to go back to flying later today :-/ |
