Wake up...wake up...wake up Vashti...it was a memory and a dream...not a prophesy...wake up..

Opening her eyes, Vashti regains some of her senses, a small bit of her composer.

Looking up at the powerful women carrying her.

You can set me down Red, I am...able to move forward...

Quickly, accessing the area and challenge, she rounds up the fragmented bits of her mind, then sets her will to work.

*Hugs back*

It is one of my favorite feats, but not often allowed.

With a group this large, I'm always looking for ways to maximize my resources and minimize there use.

It is an interesting challenge to keep everyone in good shape!

I love this character and this group, Vashti expresses a part of my personality that I do not exercise in real life much, sadly.

Being a nice person and a caretaker is very good for my mental health and moral.

Watching the drama play out between the sisters, Vashti backs away, then darts into the closest room and quickly shuts the door behind her.

Grabbing her holy symbol she begins to kneel to the floor, holding it tightly a prayer forming on her lips.

Then drops it as she collapses on her side retching up bile and blood.

for length:

no...nononononononononononononononononononononononononno I am not that person, I can not be that person I will not follow my parents steps.
The moans of the dead, the dying breath of her friends and family, one and the same now.

Vash...vashti, that you there, isn't girl? cough....cough be a good lass, fetch me some thing to drink could you? Fever seams high, why all the wood work? They been pounding nails all day and seems like half the night. We got cough cough a bad storm comin?

Yes uncle, we have a real bad storm coming. Here's some hot tea, I made it with some “extra” in it to help you sleep. Drink it up, it'll help you get a good nights rest. That it, there you go. Extra blankets and a pillow...comfy, yes.

I love you girl, even if you aren't my blood, your my daughter. You call me uncle now, but twas papa for the first bit of your life....where....wheres your mother, where is she off and go ta?

Shes looking to the animals in the barn papa, you'll see her soon, real soon.

Your bad at hiding tears...I'm bad sick aren't I? Can you tell be how bad? Got to be bad if I'm asking bout your mother. I know she died...then she turn into one of those dead things, right?

Wiping tears from her eyes, lying on the floor in her vomit and blood, she nods her head.

It's bad papa...it's really bad. I can't save you....I can't stop it, not like the last times, it's like it's evil monster. It won't stop.

I'm going to be one of them things then? Like the others...No. NO, you...you...I don't have the strength left in my arms. You know how to end the pain, when there is nothing left. Please, child, be a good daughter. Give me mercy...please.

....yes...papa....I love you....look away......

The gate of the village, everyone holding torches, no one moving. They had followed her commands, boarded up every home, locked all the gates but this one. The moans of the dead mixed with the screams of those locked in with them. They begged, pleaded, threatened her, damned her, cursed her...those that where left, could do no more.

So she began, one house to the next, ignoring the screams, she knew she would relive them in her nightmares for the rest of her life. One by one until her home was ablaze. Throwing the fire down, she walking in a smokey haze full of embers.

From her rear, a loved voice, dead for two years.

Are you going to leave with out saying good bye, my wife?

no, not again, you died...i watched your last breath pass your lips to mine...i buried you under the tree you never chopped down with honest work...you are dead....you are dead

Stepping into the light of the burning village, it was him, the balding hair, slight pudgy of the belly, the full toothed smile.

The unholy light in the eyes was not him, something darker than humanity could conjure dwelt there now.

Yes, I did. I am, reborn? I...guess that is good a word as any now. Your father

Without thought she backhanded him with every ounce of her strength, the blow broke some of her fingers, but his head never moved.

DON'T YOU CALL THAT FILTH BY THAT NAME!!! DON'T YOU EVER CALL HIM THAT.!!!! HE IS NOT THAT!!! WHAT KIND OF PERSON TURNS A TOWN INTO A ...

sends his love, as well as your mother. When you are ready, his offer still stands. He once held another god in highest esteem, but your mother called him to a different path. One they hope you will tread upon. Until then, I love you my sweet wife, I have not stopped, nor will I.

A quick turn and he was part of the shadows once more.

i kill them...was it the right choice...or the easy one

Curling into a ball, Vashti holds her stomach and cries herself to darkness.

If thing go according to plan, I will make my first attempt this summer.

I expect to fail in a spectacular manner, bleed all over the place and then drag it into the yard and burn it.

Then try again, and again, and again, etc until it meets my standards and I can constantly replicate it with quality.

Currently working on plans for some less challenging projects around the house.

Little steps, here and then there, will give me the results I want.

Eventually.

So, I'll be getting this. The question I'd have is whether this is an anniversary edition, or something else?

The 10th year anniversary isn't for around another year and a half? Right?

So this would put this around a year prior to the anniversary?

Is this an indication that we might get another for the anniversary...or is this book it?

This isn't an "Anniversary Edition." It's just a hardcover edition. Its existence neither confirms nor denies any other plans we may or may not have for the 10th year anniversary; it exists outside of and apart from that.

Selective reading is always fun!

I will misinterpret that statement to my own amusement and look forward to the big Tenth Anniversary plan.

I will select an avatar if chosen for the campaign, until then I will ask everyone suspend their disbelief and not picture Sos as a Swamp Fish:)

Sos.

Was a good pay out, only a little knife work, nothing nasty. Today was a good day. Wonder if Lavender is around. Na, my second best set of clothing dissipated last time she was over.

Sos strides thru the door, his average frame, standard looks and unarmored figure at odds with the looks of respect and polite words given him by the local patrons.

Sturdy boots, a matching belt, standard clothing identical to most in Riddleport did little set him apart from the other men.

The finely crafted blade at his side, however, screamed a different tale. It's hilt was worn, well used, but cared for. The metal blade, clean, sharp and dull in color, brought looks of fear and unease to some.

Old Thunder, neat, double please. What's Marny cooking today and does she have anything to go? Uncle Fritz's leg isn't feeling well, and he wants some dinner.

The witches lifeless body slams into the ground, torn, burnt and dead.

Pulling her old blade from it's sheath at her back, she kneels beside the warm corpse, leaning down she pulls the head to her lips and whispers in its ears.

Some of the old texts say the soul lingers on in the body for a time after it has died. I hope that is true. I hate you. I despise you. You are blight on this world and I am pleased at your death. You took a child from her mother, killed her and placed her soul in doll. I have lost a husband and a child to a sickness I could not cure, a sickness brought on by a wicked person like you. You made an unimaginable agony and visited on a mother. I WILL TAKE WHAT SMALL REVENGE FOR HER I CAN. I hope you can feel this. I want you to go to judgement in agony. I would spend weeks visiting...things on you. I have healed the wounds of many, I know the pain that will not kill, the cuts that hurt the most...so...many.. ways to make you hurt. But you have found mercy...in this life. It may only be a symbol, but I take from you your ability to have children in recompance for the lost child.

Vashti then slices open her abdomen, reaches in and rips out her womb.

Throwing it on the ground she stands up with out wiping the blood off her hands.

We have work to do. Take her things.

They are the most vile little monsters...I may be bitter about Vashti the I bleeding out in their lair. Very bitter..really angry...could be because I lost a character every session and two in one go, except for her.

The group even had a name for me prepared, Captin Keel Hual, after I lived thru being Keel Hauled for murder. And knocked into negative hit points in most fights.

Standard action to cast Communal Resist Energy on Lyosha, Sigrun, Zes, Allie, Percy and Hobbes. You guys have 10 points of Cold Resistance. And a five foot step as my move.

Raising a hand and speaking a prayer, Vashti looses a warm wind that surrounds her friends and warms them briefly in its embrace.

Her eyes look at the child killer, open wrath and death clear in them.

You are going to die this day. This I can promise you. You should pray for a swift death by steel, for if you fall at my hands...I will return you to life and visit all the pain I know on you. I want your trip into the after life to be monument of agony, so you will glimpse the pain you have caused a mother. But it will only be the faintest of shadows I can visit on you. We are coming for you next.

Oh, how I have missed this thread...you and your terrible ways Cosmo.

So, in no precise order, I Blame Cosmo for:

My phone needing replacement
after I just purchased a new lap top
my car dying on me leaving me stranded at the doctors office
causing me to test drive and purchase a new to me vehicle
in the pouring rain, while missing a day of work
after lying down for a MRI to the skull
where the ear plug fell out of my right ear (so FRAKKING LOUD)
the brain doctor angering my wife
because he was not listening to the entire problem, only a very small select bit of it
my second set of shots in my back
said shots not providing any pain relief
said shots hurting like frozen antifreeze filled with nettles and tacks as it migrated down my spine and back
my second back MRI to the spine showing no improvement to the three damaged disks I injured in august
wearing one of the portable EEG things with probes glued to my head for three days
one probe slicing into my forehead and leaving a nice juicy cut
the results from this forehead slicing test, a previous EEG and the MRI showing nothing to explain the issues I've been having
The nail biting wait as I am put into the candidate pool for a new position in the company
Purchasing a Slythern hoodie at Universal Studios for a biz zillion bucks
every member of my family is in a different Hogworts house
my driver injuring himself in the EXACT SAME SPOT as I did, same place in the back, same account, and same part of the parking lot
my daughter shaving our fluffiest cat and her now shivering, pitiful body always snuggling with her sister, right between mommy and daddy
and finally, my bosses, bosses, bosses, boss is moving into our territory. So we have a heavy duty guy, right here, in our back yard, every day, all the time, for all the every day time

My libido is nearly out of my control, time is working strange, we rode into battle with an animated battle wagon, Lyosha tried to cross over to the other side, Silence is talking to a snow globe, the globe is talking back, we have a talking sparkly Crow, a Wolf that will eventually breath ice, Ered changed from ho hum to a hottie, Little bird open a hole in the world to another world, we danced and sung as we killed a dragon, Zses's shadow is scary as hell, last week I ended up in Reds clothing, everyone saw me naked as we changed, Gruff is a ghost thingy now..

...and we are going to steal a hut with giant chicken legs...that dances...the only way things can can get stranger is if I wake up tomorrow pregnant with triplets!

Waves hand, summons muffin slathered in vanilla frosting and sprinkles, begins nervously munching away.

Curenntly adorable and cat sized, soon they will be all grown up enough to take on the task of patrolling the warehouse and "assisting" in intern reviews.

Here's my guess.

We have one canon death for a Runelord.

Leaving six others, nice number...six.

Several adventures and hints/work in Paths about the others.

The time line suggested puts us around the possible release time of one of Paizo's "risky, nonstandard, they did what?"Paths.

I believe James Jacobs is central to the idea of the Runelords, their role in history and shaping the current face of the game.

Some other posts pointed out having players go beyond/epic/etc...

So....my theory is a Path on defeating the newly risen Runelords!

And a rules book to support this style of play.

Time slowed to heartbeats, the falling leaves and grass moving softly...

Another had fallen...so many, and yet one more was claimed...

Calmly, she walked over, time slowed...A tear fell from Sigrun's cheek but only made it part way to the ground before she knelt next to the boy.

No, my Lady, it is not his time...No more will be taken from me in this life. I understand it is not your place to take them from us, only to judge them in the hereafter. Not him, he is needed here...you alone have the true gift of the future, only you can see what is to come, PLEASE, let me return him....

GIVE HIM BACK YOU F&#&ING B$!$$!!!!

Anger and unbridaled wrath mar her face as she screams a chant, hair breaking free of its loose braid.

Tears stream down her cheeks as her eyes change to white and she slams her hand in to Lyosha's chest, and then beyond.

Some where, not on this plane, a hand grabs the front of Lyosha's shirt and PULLS.

GET BACK HERE, YOU DON'T GET TO DIE BEFORE ME BOY!!!!!!I AM NOT PUTTING ANY MORE OF MY FAMILY IN THE GROUND, GET BACK HERE..NOW!!!!!!

The boys eyes opened, ragged breathing stabilized, time starting again.

***cough cough cough***
Eyes still white, with out pupils or color look down on the child as the women stands.

Blood streams from her mouth as she looks down on him, a hand pulling the corner of her scarf to wipe it away.

Time still slowed, she leans her head his way.

do not expect her to delver such a gift often little one...there is a price to her power

Time resumes...

everyone's point is valid, however I will not allow people to make what I believe to be personal attacks on anybody.

the choices you make during this adventure path will have repercussions, I'll not tell you if there is a right or a wrong way to proceed because both points of you are absolutely valid.

in real life if one of my friends or family were being accosted in the manner presented before, and I were armed I absolutely would not hesitate to use lethal force.

the question about alignment was mostly because I had not seen it in some of the character sheets, I believe everybody acted in accordance to their alignment and their views.

the in and out of character dialogue should remain civil, I realize that many of the subjects here impact people in their real life as well as in game but I expect people to be civil we've been gaming together for over 2 years

Do 27 if confirmed. Angry puppy is angry.

Rage: 6/7

Severed nearly in two, the women falls to the ground in an ever growing pond of blood.

The nearby crowd shrieks in horror as they splattered with liquid from the blow.

The blood split goads someone in the riot to hurl a blade at the women, Nox, catching her deep in the throat.

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Word of warning, I have GMed this from beginning to end.

I WILL keep player knowledge seperate, but, some people dislike that.

Let me know if it's an issue!

Can Silence make an Acrobatics check to lessen the damage? Cats always land on their feet you know

Once Silence is on the ground Vashti will inspect and heal the needed parties.

Hey! Human filth! How dare you steal from your own tribe! she roars.

Fish Dice:
1d100 ⇒ 941d6 ⇒ 5

Seconds after your shout alerts the victim of the theft, four members of the Chelish Citizens’ Group grab the would be thief and beat him unconscious. They swiftly drag his limp body in front of two dottari (city guard) to be incarcerated.

The grateful victim gushes in thanks and rewards you with five peices of gold.

I Blame Cosmo that my minion, John, did not crop that photo so I looked as Game Master Scotty says...."runty".
But you're adorable!

Indeed. His Majesty also looks perfectly-sized and healthy.

I blame Cosmo that GMS's kittehs are overcompensating for something.

That or they're Maine Coons.

Never thought about it that way Set, but now that you mention it, vivid is usually poisonous in nature.

Poison dart frog....very colorful. Coral snake...poisonous and colorful.
New England/ NE US leaf change...very colorful, thus, Cosmo must spread or be the source of a toxin that changes the leaves (as a warning) when he steals folks winter driving skills.

Oh, and not for nothing fellow WNY drivers but, get some freaking chains, snow tires, or a 4 wheel drive!

Yeah, the vivid coloration is to warn potential predators "HEY! I'M POISONOUS! DO NOT EAT ME".

Unfortunately humans see the colors and go "Ooo it's so pretty, I want to touch it".

-_-

We burn flammable liquid to propel multi ton iron beasts down the road everyday, expel toxic or corrosive fluids from our orifices and skin, burn plants to inhale the smoke for fun, eat vegetables that evolved over time to become so toxic no other animals will eat them, drink fermented (rotting) grain run off for giggles and made several of the world's most terrible creatures into our pets or dinner.

OFF COURSE WE RUN TO THE SHINEYS!!
