DCC might be especially good if you're going for the disposable hero vibe.

Rolling her eyes at Keldor's melodrama, she says "fine, let's go then."

"Why don't you start your 'penance' by carrying the proof of our victory?" she suggests as she turns to lead the way back.

This is also largely Thawm's fault.
She has no remorse over Zaagmander becoming someone else's problem before, and no compunctions against removing the xill for being an obstacle now xD

But if Thawm had shared her vision, maybe someone good aligned could've rebuked her xD

I'm loving the whole situation xD
I was kinda hoping to make a second deal, but it feels like that won't happen xD

I guess Basil also wants to make a second deal?
But I doubt Keldor would stand for it a second time xD

I believe the consensus was to chase after the buried staff/wand/stick
Nik has a preference for buying a couple of barrels of water and having Jek or a shambler follow him around carrying them on a trip to Arborea...

"Uh. Well. There are these guys that look like gnarled shadowstuff with claws. They have fancy scary masks too, but they're definitely not shadows. Very real claws. We've heard some people are calling them Visages."

Nik looks up and left, thinking a moment.
"Probably the mask." he shrugs.

"Anyway, they're some kind of intelligent undead, but they can do some pretty crazy illusion magic. Got us all mixed up and swinging at each-other a few times. They're pretty scary as spies." Nik says, frowning.

Brightening up, he adds "It's handy to have shamblers around, though; the spooky mask guy magic seems to need a mind to affect. Maybe we can draw a picture of what they look like, but I'm not sure how well the shamblers on guard duty would remember the image. Also, if you can catch 'em when they're a bit farther off, things like Black Tentacles seem to work really well."

"They don't like hugs." He adds, nodding to himself.

Nik sighs.
"Kestrod seemed to think they were too good to be stopped. He... he wanted us to assassinate Erehe before anyone found out about what he forgot, which sounds like that staff. You might be okay as long as you have plenty of shamblers nearby, especially the boney ones, buuuut- it's dangerous without True Seeing to spot them or..." Nik trails off.

"A ta- er- demon recruit?" he shrugs.

Nik turns to the others "Anyone think that stick is safe enough with who-knows-how-many Githyanki reading psychic impressions?"

Both Niks turn to look at Lunk, who seems to have just whispered.
TitaNik looks away while MaNik quirks an eyebrow.
"Wazzat you, Lunk? Um... I don't do anything with the soul usually. I've heard there are things that can be done, though." MaNik replies while pointing at TitaNik; TitaNik strikes a goofy pose while being pointed out.

MaNik shrugs "I don't do 'em though. I... I've been thinking of looking into that. For my condition. Yeah..."
Each Nik scratches his left cheek thoughtfully.
Definitely not so I can become a lich like the big cheese... yeah definitely... I wonder what else that book knows...

"Anyone who wants can take turns smashing GM or SK. They're just walking bones, so it doesn't really matter either way. Oh, and they'll need an hour in between beatings for them to get back up, so maybe once each per night?"
Skellington the sixth, least successful at weight loss of all those of his name, can stand guard... should be fine by himself for an hour... not that those weaker bloody skeletons would be much help...

Once the others are done searching for info, the two Niks arrive just a couple minutes late for the meet up. TitaNik is holding the... reigns? of a new undead monstrocity that looks a bit like a centaur. Quite a bit if you can overlook the fact that its sewn together pieces are all from humanoid zombies, it seems to be oozing puss in a couple places, and it has a pair of wings made of assorted tibias, fibias, radiuses, ulnas, and zombie-skin stretched thin.
MaNik strikes a pose atop the saddled abomination as he, himself, and his two shamblers get closer.

Once he gets within a dozen paces or so, TitaNik finally announces "I call him Horsington the first."

After pausing for effect, he adds "Whaddya think?"

also, because I just noticed that I hadn't rolled to ID these after levelup and they'd probably only take less than a minute each (in alphabetical order, as usual, but using the names in the loot sheet):

Context: Skall is the factol of the Dustmen, Nik's faction. He's rarely seen and no one remembers a time when he wasn't factol.

I'm assume that it only takes a few hours a day over the next few days to sew it up XD

regarding Lunk, if I cast Tongues on him, can he talk? It says that it gives the target the ability to speak etc.
It also says you can't use it to talk to someone who doesn't speak, but if you cast it on the not-speaker, that would give the not-speaker the ability to speak... right? xD

Oh, and since I'm now thinking about it: What if I cast Tongues on Rinika's new pet: Cuddles? xD
