Hello CS!

Can my Pathfinder Battles Subscription be reduced to a single case (usually two) going forward? We usually split these locally and with online play we don't have the interest we usually do.

Also can I get an update on what is up with the pending items from Order 36458890 placed in May? You've shipped boxes to me since then and they are still pending.

Sovereign Court

I just posted not to long ago and realized that it's still showing only 4 stars instead of 5.

Hello;
I sent this as an email with all the screenshots, but it seems this might be a quicker response for something very simple. I received the box with all my spell cards in it. Per the blog post on June 5th

Blog wrote:
The Pathfinder Spell Cards are not part of the Pathfinder Accessories Ongoing Subscription and previously did not have digital components, but will be available for individual purchase when they release on June 24. Pathfinder Accessories subscribers who preorder Pathfinder Spell Cards on or before Monday June 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time will receive the free digital asset when their physical copy ships.

The note on the product pages reminds me I purchased these on Jun 5, 2020.

1 x Pathfinder Spell Cards: Arcane
1 x Pathfinder Spell Cards: Divine
1 x Pathfinder Spell Cards: Focus
1 x Pathfinder Spell Cards: Occult
1 x Pathfinder Spell Cards: Primal

Can I get these added to my downloads so I can incorporate them into running online? Thank you!

Hello; I got my invoice for this subscription order and the price on the Invoice is $358.18, if I go into the page for City of Lost Omens it's only $279.99. Can this be fixed that's a large difference and why is it more expensive to have a subscription than to order the case directly.

I've had this subscription for a few cases now, and every time I've gotten the case incentives (for both cases). Is there a way to add this in before it ships out this time instead of later? Is there a way I don't have to contact you each time to add these on? This has been an issue the last few cases.

Hey, we had people having issues referencing a lot of different charts while learning 2e chronicle sheets. So made a quick reference guide to all the information in one place and some refreshers.

Ok to start off with I love we add things to scenarios instead of 4 player nerf.

What I have issues with is the old system you took a look at the stat block found your mini's packed them up and went on your way as a GM. I almost did it again of forgetting to read the side bar for how many additional mini's I needed for additional players during the mini pulling phase.

Can we get something in the back for you need x number of each mini/creature or something like a chart 4 player these, 6 player these #s. I don't have to after prepping pull minis for a main block AND the sidebar block especially looking at one of these the side bar for additional players is not even on the same page as the combat.

So now that we have reporting open I got to sit and report sheets that have been waiting and I came across something that it seems a point to make.

Why is the Organized Play # box this small? Most of my players and many without crazy large handwriting, are not fitting their number into this box making is a lot harder for reporters to read what we are typing in.

The longest and newest sets of numbers from our lodge for a 2e character is 11 in length, not counting the dash (12 with the dash).

The longest class name after the playtest will be Investigator at 12 - the current is 9 at Barbarian -- and these can be abbreviated and currently not needed for reporting.

Proposal: Switch the Class and Org Play # Boxes.

Hello; I'll be running these shortly and now that I'm back from GenCon and downloaded everything I noted I don't have society scenarios for 2nd.

I scheduled to run them locally expecting there wouldn't be an issue receiving them. Since I am a Subscriber I don't want to have to repurchase them. I go to the page for the scenarios and it offers me to put them in the cart and no (In your downloads) page either.

I usually see an option by this time to select for GenCon pickup. What do we need to do for GenCon Pickup of subscriptions? Specifically 2e books we'll be using at GenCon.

Hello;

I logged in to check on a game reported, and out of habit I sync my GM credits when I'm there (bad habit of being close to getting the next one). I noticed Playtest Points are set to 0.

I look at the games that were reported under event #45143 (by me), I should have 30. That's not counting other's I've done reported elsewhere.

Is this a work in progress or a glitch?

Letters are sent to intrigued Pathfinder Agents and you are sent to the capital of Nirmathas - Tamran on the shores of Lake Encarthan. Directions lead you to the Forest Bounty, a sizable feast hall in the middle of town. Hello All;

So I've wanted to run this just to give the GMing side of it a try and all our local spots for it are already taken (and I'm not the V*). I'm honestly looking for to try things out and see how it works. I'm not here to sell omfg this is the greatest the jury is still out for me on it but I'm going to give it my best effort.

I'm not going to ask for any specific stat blocks or anything because it's playtest, but tossing HP and consumables (resonance, power/day ect) may be useful just to help you and me keep track. Feel free before we start to discuss what you would like to play.

Doomsday dawn gives you some additional backgrounds they do request you use one of these for the first section. Others you can use the ones from the rulebook. I've posted them here for those that don't want to crack open for spoilers.

Character Backgrounds pg 3 Doomsday Dawn:

Budding Osirionlogist
The secrets buried in the seemingly endless sands of the nation of Osirion have long intrigued you, even though you’ve never actually visited the nation. Some day, you hope to correct that.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Dexterity or Intelligence, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Terrain Stalker (rubble) feat, and you’re trained in the Ancient Osirion Lore skill.
Esoteric Scion
One of your family members belongs to a semisecret society called the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye. You’ve long held an interest in perhaps some day joining the order and have studied strange topics in preparation for that day.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Intelligence or Wisdom, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Quick Identification feat, and you’re trained in the Esoteric Order Lore skill.
Family Friend
Your family has been friends with the Deverins of Magnimar for a generation, and you’ve grown accustomed to hobnobbing with the aristocracy even if you have little or no interest in such matters.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Charisma or Intelligence, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Hobnobber feat, and you’re trained in the Nobility Lore skill.
Goblin Renegade
You had been working with a gang of goblin burglars, but that new leader was no good. It took a lot of guts to stand up to him, but you survived! Now you’re stuck with the longshanks, but maybe you can get back at the old boss.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Dexterity or Charisma, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Quick Repair feat, and you’re trained in the Criminal Lore skill.
Mind Quake Survivor
As a child, you once woke from a particularly harrowing nightmare, and this nightmare has plagued you ever since. You’ve had strange thoughts and knowledge that you always felt weren’t truly your own.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Constitution or Wisdom, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Dubious Knowledge feat, and you’re trained in the Dominion of the Black Lore skill.
Pathfinder Hopeful
You’ve long wanted to join the adventurous Pathfinder Society, a world-spanning organization of relic hunters. This aspiration has led you to take up the dangerous life of an adventurer eager to make a name for yourself and gain the attention of the Pathfinder Society.
Choose two ability boosts. One must be to Strength or Intelligence, and one is a free ability boost.
You gain the Additional Lore feat, and you’re trained in the Pathfinder Society Lore skill.

I'm laying out the various character creations if you want to go through it all - awesome I'll be here the whole way. If you get through one and go I really don't like the new system no problem! This is here so you can decide.

They do ask that you try different things but in some places they want you to play the advanced version of the prior character. I've marked these with ** if you should play the same character* *=I don't care if you change things up from what you selected at prior levels for options (translation: rewrite just stay in class).

Chapter 1: The Lost Star **
The players should build 1st-level characters using the rules found in the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook. The group should work together to build a balanced and diverse party using any of the character options found in the book (subject to the specific restrictions listed below), while creating characters they are eager to see gain power and fame and glory as eventual saviors of Golarion. Encourage your players to avoid choosing the same ancestry and class as other players, so you’ll be able to playtest as wide a range of character options as possible for the three chapters in which the primary characters star.
Each player must choose a background from those listed on page 3 (above) of this adventure; these backgrounds are designed not only to tie the primary characters to NPCs and themes found in “The Lost Star,” but to focus their strengths in specific areas of use for “The Lost Star,” “The Mirrored Moon,” and “When the Stars Go Dark.”
The PCs begin with 150 sp each. They can purchase any common gear found in Chapter 6 of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook, along with any other options they gain access to from their class and feat selections.

Chapter 2: In Pale Mountain's Shadow
4th Level characters, backgrounds from the Rule book. Auran, Gnoll and Ancient Osiriani might open up additional opportunities.
Each character begins with one 3rd-level item, two 2nd-level items, one 1st-level item, and 300 sp to spend on additional items. As the GM, you determine which items the PCs can start with, but they should have access to at least all common items of their level or lower. The characters
already know each other, so they can pool their money to buy items.

Chapter 3: Affair at Sombrefell Hall
7th level characters*, Each player should choose a background from those listed on pages 38–39 of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook. Each player should also come up with details on how their characters know each other and serve the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye.
Each character begins with one 6th-level item, two 5th-level items, one 4th-level item, two 3rd-level items, and 125 gp to spend on any additional items. One character in the group also starts with one +2 magic armor of your choice. Allow characters who already know each other to pool their money to buy items.

Chapter 4: The Mirrored Moon**
In this chapter, the players once again take on the roles of Doomsday Dawn’s primary characters, advanced to 9th level. The adventure assumes that in the interlude between “The Last Star” and “The Mirrored Moon” that these PCs have been on numerous adventures while simultaneously gaining prestige as agents of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye.
The players can make any choices they wish when leveling up from 1st level to 9th level.
Each player retains the gear they earned and kept from “The Lost Star,” but also gains the following: one 8th-level item, two 7th-level items, one 6th-level item, two 5th-level items, and 250 gp to spend on additional items. The PCS can pool their money to buy items.

Chapter 5: The Heroes of Undarin
The players should build 12th-level characters using the rules found in the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook. These characters should all be crusaders who have signed on to fight demons in the
Worldwound. The group should work together to build a balanced and diverse party using any of the available character options. Note that the characters should avoid doubling up on any one ancestry or class if possible. The characters are hardy crusaders, accustomed to facing terrible foes in the Worldwound, and that the characters should be ready to lay down their lives to defeat their foes.
Each Character starts play with 100gp -- and you have an undisclosed at this time stash o' stuff (which changes depending on what you play and how many of you).

Chapter 6: Red Flags
In this adventure, the player characters take the role of high-ranking members of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye. The players should create a group of 14th-level characters with skill sets that favor infiltration, knowledge, and subtlety rather than aggressive combat prowess.
Each player should choose a background for their character from those listed on pages 38–39 of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook. Each player should also determine what their character’s role in
the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye is: archivist, diplomat, historian, researcher, spy, or the like. Combat-themed roles should be avoided if possible.
Each character begins this chapter with one 13th-level item, two 12th-level items, one 11th-level item, two 10th-level items, and 1,500 gp to spend on any additional items. The characters already know each other, so they can pool their money to buy items. -- + GM choice items (like above it depends on what you are playing, I'm not going to give you something useless).

Chapter 7: When the Stars Go Dark **
In Doomsday Dawn’s final chapter, the players take on the roles of the adventure’s primary characters one more time. At the chapter’s outset, these PCs should be advanced to 17th level.
The players can make any choices they wish when leveling up from 9th level to 17th level.
Players retain the gear they earned and kept from “The Mirrored Moon,” but they also each gain the following: one 16thlevel item, two 15th-level items, one 14thlevel item, two 13th-level items, and 5,000 gp to spend on additional items. The PCs can pool their money to buy items.

Ok, so after this gencon, I realize we have pins... lots and lots of pins. 8 for Pathfinder Society and 5 for Starfinder Society - for factions alone.

Does anyone have a logically way to store/display these? Most of the solutions I see involve corkboards but that's not the best for going to game stores/conventions -- most of the 'badge holders' or lanyards have the they can fall off a lot issues. This seems more than reasonable to add to a dice bag - thus looking for suggestions.

You have been summoned to the center of the Skyreach. Your escorts encourage you to move on quickly as you walk past a heavily sealed door with runic seals covering the door and you find yourselves in an office further down the hall. A grim faced Ambrus Valsin is pacing the office. He takes a dagger from his side twirling around in his hand before putting it back again, before repeating it while you all get settled into chairs set out in this room. He doesn't flinch at the sounds of your weapons and armor being arranged as you sit down but keeps on pacing till everyone is seated.

"Pathfinders, get comfortable, get to know each other, once Aram Zey lets a few of his casters free of that project he's been working on they will transport you to Rosehaven." He mentions in a clipped voice while not really looking at any of you directly.

"I'm not going to be the one to give you this mission." He continues through clenched teeth. "It's complicated, it's bloody complicated and Petulengro will fill you in on the details once the curses busy spellcasters get here to send you there, that's why your up here and not down in a normal room. Your at least closer which was as much of an agreement I could get from him, concerning the weight of both matters."

For players new to me, I don't do dotting in I do introductions. Feel free to introduce yourselves, RP the introductions and the like and I'll post Rosehaven once we get to day 1.

Greetings Players!

Welcome to what hopefully will be a fun filled time.

I put this up just to get this out of the way, so you know what to expect from me, and vice versa.

Have Fun Seriously, if your not having fun why are you playing? If for some reason you are not having fun, message me and I'll see if I can fix the situation.

Roleplay This is possibly an old Cam adage that follows me, this is a roleplaying game not a "roll" playing game, we do both but one helps the other. Try and describe a bit of what you are doing, this is one of the advantages of PbP -- you can internal monologue, you can describe your weapon flourishes, ect and your not slowing down the game. Talk among yourselves in character - it's fun!

Posting I'm going to aim for non-Weekends once every 24 hours. This doesn't mean I ignore you on the weekend, or it will take 24 hours per round of posting. If everyone has posted, I'll move things on. I keep in mind everyone has Real Life obligations and different time zones.

Rolling I will roll the following to set up things and only really to keep things moving.

  • Initiative
  • Perception (hidden)
  • Saving throws

Botting: I prefer not to bot, but I want the game to keep moving. If I do bot you, it will likely be minimal. I won't use player non-renewable resources except in dire situations. If you have specifics put it up with your sheet under a spoiler.
I will Bot under the following circumstances:

  • It's combat, and 24 hours have passed;
  • You tell me that you will be gone for a few days, and ask me to bot you.

Sheets and Statistics This is to make everyone's life a bit easier. Please have your sheet posted to your character and have vital stats in your tag lines, this puts everything in your tagline to help adjudication situations where the GM rolls for the whole party. I've made a guide for how to do this if your new to PbP or just want to try out a new format. (I'm not picky as long as everything is there.) Kyten's Intro to PbP Setup

GM Need to Know Send me a PM if there is something about the character that you don't want to post up but will affect how your character interacts with the scenario. This includes I'm impersonating another class and I've dual classed but don't advertise one of them. -- Yes both have happened.

I've been enjoying the improvements to the website to help find information that has been coming up on the pfs sections of the websites.

I know that Paper copies rule over the issues of the website, but the current addition of the faction prestige and fame to the website is bring up an issue that I've had over the years of playing.

I've had people in the past report scenarios wrong, and this just came up in lots of lines added to things with the new update. I've done the report an issue with this session thing and never had anyone respond or the issues fixed. This has included people reporting sessions for the wrong person, reporting to the correct person and wrong character, to selecting the wrong faction before it auto filled.

Can we get something that would allow V* to fix this instead of allowing these errors to pile up?

Your letters of introduction you've been sent from the Grand Lodge, direct you into the area known as Galt, specifically to the town of Woodsedge. This is located on the northern edge of the Verduran Forest.

As you make your way through the town, notable are the scant few figures dressed in gray, with tri-corner hats and grey veils covering their face. It seems the common citizens give a wide berth to the few you see traveling through the streets. The atmosphere unlike other places you've been sent to in the Inner Sea seems almost subdued, even Ustalv could be called cheery in comparison.

Knowledge Local DC 10::

These are known as Gray Gardeners, The Gray Gardeners are the hooded executioners of Galtan justice, and are violent, mob-ruled, and rarely just. During the ever-changing Red Revolution that has soaked Galt in blood for over 40 years, the Gray Gardeners have remained a constant.

Any of the commoners you see on the streets also seem to be giving you as strangers just as wide of a berth going through the streets.

You make it to the Woodsedge Lodge, and are all shown into a room.

Late afternoon light pours in through the windows of the meeting room in Galt's Woodesdge Lodge, and the smell of freshly baked pastries wafts in from the kitchen. Venture-Captain Eliza Petulengro sits at the head of a polished mahogany table in from of a tall pile of papers. She clears her throat. "I'm glad to see that all of you made it here safely. My name is Eliza Petulengro. And what are the names of the agents who answered my call today?"

Knowledge Local DC 10:

Greetings Players!

Welcome to what hopefully will be a fun filled time.

Expectations:
Have Fun Seriously, if your not having fun why are you playing? If for some reason you are not having fun, message me and I'll see if I can fix the situation.

Roleplay This is possibly an old Cam adage that follows me, this is a roleplaying game not a "roll" playing game, we do both but one helps the other. Try and describe a bit of what you are doing, this is one of the advantages of PbP -- you can internal monologue, you can describe your weapon flourishes, ect and your not slowing down the game. Talk among yourselves in character - it's fun!

Vital Statistics This is to make everyone's life a bit easier, this puts everything in your tagline to help adjudication situations where the GM rolls for the whole party. I've added a how to guide for joining on the signup page.

Posting I'm going to aim for non-Weekends once every 24 hours. This doesn't mean I ignore you on the weekend, or it will take 24 hours per round of posting. If everyone has posted, I'll move things on.

Rolling I will roll the following to set up things and only really to keep things moving.

  • Initiative
  • Perception (hidden)
  • Saving throws

The Pathfinder Society has decided to send you North to the River Kingdoms and the city of Tymon. Your letters of introduction give directions to a smithy that seems to be built in a Dwarven style that still blends in nicely with the surrounding buildings.

You all trickle in from your various previous assignments, you are greeted by a short Dwarven apprentice, that leads you upstairs into what looks like an adventurer's boarding house. He makes sure your comfortable and situated with a flagon of Dwarven Ale before letting you know that the captin' will be with you shortly.

Feel free to describe yourselves, introductions, chit-chat!

Hello Pathfinders,

Unpacking from GenCon I found this guy in my collection and he doesn't belong to us. We came back with the same number of minis we left with so you may have one of ours, but with the collection I took I'm not sure which, as we have most of our main characters it would have been a backup that we carry to help people.

Per suggestion and I think it was a good one we're starting with a clean board. It looks like the process for starting this has been improved so no more issues!

Posting If we don't set this out this will take a really long time. I'm going to aim for non-Weekends once every 24 hours. I also know we have people with crazy work schedules. This doesn't mean I ignore you on the weekend, or it will take 24 hours per round of posting. If everyone has posted, I'll move things on.
If we need to adjust it we can.

Rolling This is an automatic dice roller (and it's not broken!)
How rolling works [ dice=Roll type]NdX+K[ /dice] "Roll type" is replaced with the roll you are making (i.e. "stealth", "attack bab+1 str +1" "damage 1d6+2") N is the number of dice and X is the type of dice (i.e. "1d20", "5d6") K is your modifiers if you have any.
Other rolls can be done by the players as you wish in the scenes, I will roll the following to set up things and only really to keep things moving.

  • Initiative
  • Perception (hidden)
  • Saving throws

Formatting/Writing Style This helps this not be a wall of text. I've added some suggestions that are common place.
"Akk! I've been stabbed Bold text is usually speech.
Do I need to make a check? There is an ooc tag specifically for ooc comments.
I wonder if there's a trap there? Italics are normally internal monologue, which can either be random thoughts, or set up for actions that you are doing.
Writing Style, there's no hard fast rules on this but to help keep everyone on the same page, 3rd Person Limited (i.e. from your character's point of view) and present tense helps a lot.

Hello wonderful customer service people!

I hope I didn't break this. I attempted to set up a PbP, made my GM alias, got it all set up, can talk and post in Discussion fine.

I cannot for what ever reason get any new post to show up in Gameplay to start the game. I can see the Alias's post count ticking up, but cannot even if I go through the Alias to see the posts anywhere and even players couldn't get posts to show up there.

I waited a bit as things got settled in after GenCon and the feedback on the guide as this isn't directly on the guide, but you used to be able to use the metal sidheron made by the same company that makes the pathfinder pins as a reroll in the past - but when it went over to the website it has not appeared there.

Was this purposely removed or was it overlooked?

If it was purposely removed is there a reason why?

Pretty much what it says. Due to moving my game went online, but the maps don't cleanly extract from the pdfs as they do from scenarios.

Does anyone have a clean copy of these maps? Even if paizo were selling them for virtual tabletop, type things.

Image for Scale

This is the current stack of chronicle sheets we have. As you can tell with the Bengal for scale...this is starting to become a bit of a haul.

I've played enough that I like to bring options to the table so we have a balanced party, not everyone has options in-tier to change up or the desire to play a pre-gen.

Is there an issue with scanning your sheets and then say putting two on each side of a page? I can think of nothing on the backs of any of these chronicle sheets.

As far as I know you have to have physical copies of the sheets - but nothing about being full sized. These would still be readable and decent sized and cut down the stack by about 1/4 of the size.

So this keeps coming up a few times where we have a mix of skill levels at a table, and I'm really looking into advice to GMs to help keep games a bit balanced.

Most of this is either a new player or a kid at the table and people wanting to keep them involved, and regretfully at the expense of a more experienced player.

Recently things like letting the person they are trying to get involved to do most of the knowledge checks and an investigator with knowledges just auto aiding instead of rolling or participating. When it came to combat, having the player in an area that became difficult terrain, where the combats end before they get to even be in range to be involved.

I'm not talking about here it's part of the scenario that you make them shine and others later, but every single roll, where the player doesn't even bother to pick up their dice at all. Role play is also directed at the younger, or newer player to the full exclusion of the older players unless it's to make a cultural joke based on their character to try and introduce them to the setting.

Given having a relationship with a GM that has done this, and being a GM myself I'm honestly trying to find advice for this.

I'm not against putting the newer or younger player in the spotlight, but advice to people who would be more focused on these players (yay getting people involved), to not lose the rest of the table that didn't come with them to make them not feel like a pre-gen added to the table.

We've had a new book for Osirion, Cheliax, and Andorian. Taldor still exists for only 3.5. Any news on possibly getting a new Taldor book?

I'm pulling this into its own thread as I've heard this more than a few times over time.

That GMs will volunteer for the smaller conventions, but they end up out of resources to support their GMs. Most commonly people are promised the GM Boon for the Convention, and they run out passing them out.

I understand some of this is how well the Convention Staff preps for this ahead of time, I've had some conventions that come across very well prepared and this is never an issue. Most of the time I've personally run into this is where I'm at a general gaming con with a PFS presence and I've been 'recruited' into being a GM because they have a need (commonly people didn't show up, or more tables that were planned and people wanting to try out PFS).

It's been suggested that there was possibly an idea of having an online boon, that would be assigned at a later date if people would give their information like username or PFS Number. Would this be a valid idea that if people can't print off enough for a convention, that you could grant these to people post-con?

I've recently updated this again, and try to keep it up to date as much as possible (please keep in mind I'm in law school, so it may be a few days). This was based off a sheet someone had given me at a convention which is by far out of date over a year later.

Instead of being something to slip into a folder, we use this to track the players of the local group as we've run into issues of what can people play without replay. It's open to anyone to view, I just ask if you want to use it make a copy of it to edit.

If anyone else has similar things that are willing to share please feel free to add. If you have any requests for similar things, I would be willing to hear them out and possibly able to make them over time.
