Rudigar was born in Michel Delving in the Westfarthing of the Shire. His father, Sadoc Whitfoot, is the 2nd cousin of the Mayor, Pott Whitfoot. His mother is Violet Took, daughter of Isembold.
Rudigar helped around the
Mathom-house during his youth and loved learning all he could about the Shire and its history. He met Mr. Bilbo Baggins after he returned to the Shire and heard about Bilbos adventures. This sparked a curiosity about the larger world outside of the Shire. He moved to Waymoot in his mid-30s so he could be in a place where more people from outside the Shire came through. He listened to rumors and tried to learn everything he could from visitors.
Rudigar is also a huge fan of riddles and pipe smoking. The pipe smoking helps him focus when he is researching or reading.
Rudigar is a bit thinner than the average hobbit, which is due to him skipping a meal once in a while due to being so focused on reading that he loses track of the time and forgets to eat, not because he doesn't like food. He is also a bit taller than average due to his Fallohide heritage.
