Until such time as the higher level characters are available, can we...

A. Use the CRB/APG versions?

B. Generate the higher level versions of Remaster Iconics using approved tools like Hero Lab Online?

C. Can we still just use the older versions and use the conversion guides for at-the-table updating?

Also, at what point can we no longer use the older pregens? I'm presuming if they are for a class in Core Rulebook or Advanced Players that had NOT been Remastered, we would use the older characters with modifications based on the conversion guide.

Thanks!

In my personal opinion, as a 5 Glyph GM, this should have the Glyph tag. There are many moving parts and a lot for a GM to keep track of. This scenario was much more difficult to GM than others that have the Glyph tag.

While it was a well-written scenario, and a lot of fun to run, it is challenging. GMs, make sure you have ample time to prep this one.

Just my pair of coppers.

It sounds a lot more like 2.1

2.1 was the first errata to CRB. 2.2 the second, etc. So, yeah this IS 2.5.

I'm just starting to watch the replay of the stream, and I'll hold additional comments until after that, except this one:

I've played/run RPGs without alignment. I don't like them. As teenage boys playing fantasy games where there is no guideline as to how your character's morality would actually influence their actions makes it easy for a "Good" character to slaughter baby deer, just because. You, as the GM, cannot tell them it's against their character's morality, because the player will find ways to justify otherwise abhorrent actions. If Alignment becomes an "Optional" aspect, it will always be used at my table. That's my pair of coppers, do with them as you wish.

I don't play much for SF anymore, but I WILL get this book. Even if for no other reason than Mike and Ivis. Such awesome folks and great writers. The others are great writers and contributors too, but Mike and Ivis are locals and friends. I'm so glad for them and love their work.

Please tell me there will be cards for these. I love using item cards for everything! I have made hundreds myself, but official ones are so much nicer than half a 3x5 index card.

I too would LOVE to see this done with a Second Edition AP, like Outlaws of Alkenstar or Age of Ashes. But, if we're resurrecting 1E APs, my vote is for Wrath of the Righteous. I've been waiting for Mythic to get to 2E, and that would be a great way to introduce it. Just my pair of coppers now, but if you do it, I'll gladly lay down a lot of gold for it. I'd even be willing to join a Playtest if you want a 5G GM. Just sayin.

Congrats to all the other award and 5-rank achievers! Especially Kristin Bollerman, my all-time favorite VC, GM, player, my wife, and best friend :-). It was a fun and grueling journey for me, and I'm sure it was for all of you as well. Congratulations, and well done.

I also want to send a pre-emptive congrats to Ivis Flannagan who has been at the forefront of 2E since Playtest and has been an inspiration to me.

Thank you Alex, Heather, and all of the staff and volunteers who made our Gencon experience so awesome! It's great to be back in person.

I'm anxious for PFS2 Season of Boundless Wonder! Can't wait! Are we going to get letters from Zarta?

As I'm prepping this scenario I've got to say I'm very excited to run it. The plot is well thought out, there's plenty of action, opportunities for role-play, and great skill checks. A very well-rounded adventure indeed! And who doesn't look forward to using the Red-Light District Flip-Mat?

The one thing that bugs me is the new art for Lady Glorianna Morilla. I understand that the characters from 1st edition are being redrawn, reimagined, etc. But this one, I'm not liking. Just my pair of coppers, but I plan on using the old art I have in my presentations.

However, the rest of the scenario is FANTASTIC! From the first encounter's structure to the last encounter's monsters. I plan to do a full review after I run it this weekend and see how my players tear into it. I'm looking forward to running more of Brent's scenarios.

One thing I've heard from players and would like to see my self, is some kind of designation for which arc each of these scenarios is part of. Example, this could be "Starting in Sedeq pt1: Foundation's Price" This makes it easier to know what arc you are in without re-reading each scenario description every time you look.

Titles like this have been used a lot in the past, and considering the number of linked scenarios this season, it would make it easier for players and GMs to track which arc they are in or what they are looking for.

If others in the community has been complaining about the length of the titles, I haven't seen it. But, I have heard from a number of my players that they would prefer better titling.

Just my pair of coppers. Others can throw in theirs.

Any word on when the expected street date will be? I'd love to plan an Agents of Edgewatch campaign after receiving this. Provided I can get it approved by the budget officer.

Then again, she and our local player base have been asking for more content. So, it might, MIGHT, be possible. And Christmas is coming.

As a volunteer for a corporate business, I understand that sometimes there must be an over-abundance of cation and risk avoidance.

As a Venture Agent, I'm deeply saddened by this news. BUt perhaps it's an opportunity to promote Family Time Games on the north side as part of Pop-Up Gencon.

As an Indianapolis local VA, I'm terribly disappointed that once again I will not be seeing Paizo friends from across the country and around the world. Handing out VO Dice in person will have to wait another year. This absolutely sucks.

On the personal side... As someone who nearly died from Covid back in March of 2020, I was REALLY looking forward to returning to a semblance of normalcy. Even if we had a fraction of the in-person games offered, I would have been willing to GM a VTT from the Sagamore. I'm still willing to do this, and I might just make a few phone calls and emails.

I hate to ask this now, but: Should Kaako have 1 more Cantrip? He gets Electric Arc from Storm's Lash; Guidance from his Pendant of the Occult; Presumably Know Direction from Minor Magic, but Minor Magic grants 2 Cantrips. So He's Short 1 unless there's something I'm missing.

Does anyone have any advice on how long it takes to run each chapter? I'm building the Warhorn listing now and guessing at 2x 5-hour sessions to get through each chapter based on experience with Plaguestone and Slithering.

We're also going through our Flip-Tiles, Map Packs, etc. to develop maps for the other places. I had to do this with Plaguestone as well.

It would have been great if these other locations were included as additional small maps with the Flip-Mat. Perhaps as a Map Folio? Future release? Please?

Ok, Trying this again.

Spoiler:
Is the Fireball Rune trap supposed to be triggered if someone tries to open the lock? Or as written, "Trigger A living creature enters the sensor area." The problem I see is that the sensor area is a 20 foot radius, inside a 10 foot Diameter hut. So, figuring the trap is at the center point of the hut, any living creature passing within 15 feet of the hut would trigger this trap. Also, the person who sleeps in this hut would trigger it before going to bed. Does the posted guard know to stay that far away? Or, am I missing something? I've been wrong before, I may be again.

Aha! I need to have the spoiler thingy at the front, then /spoiler at the end. One day I might learn HTML, LOL.

Small request for those who format the PFS scenarios.

Is there any chance that the battle maps could be moved to the Appendix, after the handouts but before the encounters? There are so many times that important text flows from one page to another, and gets interrupted by a battle map. This becomes even more vexing when there are multiple encounters close together, and you have to skip 2 pages of maps to finish reading a sentence.

Could we also get more clarification as to where players and opponents start? Some scenarios are great about this, while others completely lack any indications.

Thanks! That's my pair of coppers.

Well, Plaguestone and Slithering both play through 3 levels worth of encounters, and take approximately 6-9 4-hour blocks to complete properly. Each of those only gives 1 level's worth of PFS rewards. Actually, I'm guessing on Slithering as it hasn't been sanctioned yet, but it's going to take just as long as, if not longer than, Plaguestone did.

The advantage with these Adventures is that they are NOT PFS play, which means you can use any and all options for character choices out there, or it may have assigned pre-gens like We Be Goblins. I've yet to read this one, but I'm presuming it's more of a low level one-off than tied to any ongoing storyline. So, it's meant to be enjoyed outside of PFS OPF rules and mechanics, but still offers some PFS campaign reward.

Just my pair of coppers, take em or leave em.

So, we're running this online Friday night. I scheduled it that way because I was told it could be run anytime after the 26th and that it would drop then. Any chance I can get some clue as to what actual tiles are being used so I can at least get them uploaded to Roll 20? Any other clues so I can start the prep work?

Thanks!

Also, is this going to be the new regular release schedule? Meaning the last Friday of the month instead of the last Thursday. This means our venue no longer gets first crack. If a new scenario drops on Thursday, I have time to prep it before running it Friday evening (EST). If it's not going to drop until sometime Friday while I'm at work, it becomes very difficult to impossible to run it that night. Just my pair of coppers.

Like every adventure I get to play, I look forward to playing a hero in a world of violence. It would not be the first time I've seen players deliberately issuing non lethal damage because, "If we kill them they cannot learn the error of their wrongs."

I'm really looking forward to running or playing this AP. Paizo, please dont bow to public pressure and cancel this. Stand up for the ideal of pushing back on social misconceptions. For any who would say that all law enforcement officers are evil, I ask, how many do you know?

Give us the chance to play the good guys, and show others that its possible.

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Pathfinder Adventure Path, Maps, Rulebook, Starfinder Maps Subscriber

Let's face it folks. This AP is not getting sanctioned. There are too many problems with breaking it down properly so that GMs can run a small section of it in 8 hours to grant the 12 xp for the PFS level up. And, it would take too many hours to generate Chronicle sheets for each character level's worth of game play. It's not like this one breaks out the levels at nice break points either. I'd go so far as to say it was written without Organized Play Support in mind at all. Reading through it, I think it's very difficult to sanction it because there are lots of options for different opportunities. To sanction an adventure, the OP team, or at least the author, has to be able to predict what a vast majority of players will do. It's very tough to do on this one.

Paizo's human resources are already stretched paper thin with everything else they're doing, then throw the pandemic on the bonfire and santioning for Age of Ashes is toast.

Am I correct in my assessment? Or will Paizo prove me wrong?

Just my pair of coppers.

I'm also noticing that not only are the quests exempted from the scenario subscription, they are also exempted from the Paizo Advantage discount.

We are absolutely loving 2E! The action economy alone is enough to entice a trial of the game. I love to see a player's face when they ask, "I can attack again?" Or, when the number of actions allow, "I can cast another spell?" We're also loving the flow of the game. The smooth transition from rolling skill checks in exploration mode becoming initiative checks for encounter mode.

It is only fair to note that in some areas the release feels incomplete. Between the misprints and typos and the small amount of PFS approved play scenarios, many of our players are shrugging their shoulders, but still coming out to play.

I'm looking forward to getting more sanctioned content with chronicle sheets for us to play. And I'm hoping to hear that the Character Guide is legal for PFS play.

Keep it coming, we're ready!

So I just started reading through this scenario to run it this coming Friday, and so far it sounds fun. I don't want to sound like I'm knit-picking, but I think it's important. Not that it's significant, but there's something should be addressed and corrected.

Spoiler:
In the box from Calisro Benarry, the scenario calls for Cold Weather Gear. In the Core Rulebook, there is no Cold Weather Gear, just Winter Clothing under Clothing.

Especially here at the beginning we need to strive to use the 2E terms. I've asked forgiveness from my players many, many times for using 1E terms. They tell me not to worry about it, but I should. I'll admit, it's been challenging converting over from 1E to 2E and using new terminology for so many things. But, while we may know what we're talking about, new players who haven't played 1E won't know what to look for. And the PDF search feature will only turn up the correct phrase, not automatically convert from 1E to 2E.

If I find any more, I'll post them here. If I should follow a different protocol, please message me directly.

Thank you!

How long is it taking most GMs to run this adventure? Most of my players enjoy the Role-Play aspect of scenarios, so I'm planning on a long session (7hr) just for Chapter 1.

I figure heavy RP, lots of game mechanics questions, rules look-ups, maybe some character construction, it would likely be a long session.

The way that we described 2E to our friends is that it is much easier to build your mechanical character around your concept of their personality than in 1E where you ended up building your character's persona more around the things you could do in game. I'm loving the flexibility so far.
