Rees props his bow up in the corner opposite his bed, sets his dagger on the nightstand beside him, and yawns. Seeing Kleines remove his armor, the tall emerald-eyed elf frowns thoughtfully for a moment and takes a step toward his bed before sighing softly and removing his own armor. Doesn't mean I think I'm safe, but he'd be sure to report me if I left it on after he removed his. He'd probably think I don't trust him, instead of just... all of them.

Rees glares at the sniveling Snive-ling, as if to put the fear of the Community into him. Not having much familiarity with ledgers, he takes up a position on the edge of the room to keep an eye on the prisoners.

Rees narrows his eyes and blinks a few times, trying to clear the burning fog from them. With a grunt at the fellow in front of him, he pushes his way out of the fog and into the room, hugging the wall and eying the spot he last saw the halfling. Rees closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and lets it out, visualizing the room in his mind. Then, nocking an arrow to the string, he draws his bow and lets fly. Move, then pew at Red's last known square.

Rees narrows his eyes as the men become violent. Glancing around, he gives a quick shake of head, then raises his bow and fires at the fellow already reeling from Kleines' ministrations. Roll does not include cover. Rees has Precise Shot, so no penalty for firing into melee.

Rees moves into the room, glancing around at the goings-on as he considers the situation. If we were truly Elders, we would not accept such disrespect, he thinks. After a moment, he clears his throat. "Do we look like we're here to clean?" he asks, allowing a slight rumble into his tone. "Your worthy task is to clean; ours is... not your concern."

So saying, he motions to the other Pathfinders to follow and strides purposefully toward the doors leading deeper into the compound.

Rees stands off to one side, listening uncomfortably to the chatter with the underling. Catching Garif's look of discomfort, the tall elf quirks his mouth up in something vaguely resembling a smirk, as if to opine, You and me both, comrade... although I told Kleines we should do this, I'm hardly comfortable pretending to be an Elder! He snorts softly. I suspect the Pathfinder Society slaves who are on the Plane of Earth right now are just as well-suited to their assignment as you and I to ours... isn't that an amusing thought!

Rees glances around at the guests starting to arrive, and shakes his head. "I am not an Elder, but I can try to help keep order."

Throwing a meaningful glance toward Nico, the emerald-eyed elf then cocks his head ever so slightly at Garif, clearly implying, You have a hard enough time with one cat; how are you ever going to manage other people's animals? I suppose I'll help you, even after that dig earlier about not being productive. Hrmph.

Rees can run Security and help out with animals.

He does throw Garif a side-long glance, as if to say, These people... if you wait until there's 'proof', someone will have already been injured or killed. No wonder their communities are such a mess! The slightest lift of his right eyebrow seems to add, Surely your tribe knows better, right?

Rees frowns thoughtfully as he listens to the problem and Damiar's 'solution'. Things don't work the same way out here... but... Finally, he speaks up. "Why not just arrest both of them?" he asks, clearly honestly curious. "When someone is causing problems in the Community — any community — it's just good sense to remove them, at least until they can be rehabilitated."

Rees listens to his companions' banter quietly as he watches the room, hoping against hope that she is here somewhere... or will be. Maybe this will all finally be over, and we can go home. No better place to look for her... if I can just stomach all this decadent waste for a little while.

Glancing over at Garif, the tall, emerald-eyed elf tilts his head slightly, as if to inquire, Are we meant to be offering assistance, or...? I was under the impression that this was going to be one of your fancy 'parties' — where are all the decadently wasteful celebrants?

Rees studies the shelves for a long minute. Finally, he shakes his head, casts a slightly apologetic look at Garif, as if to say, Sorry... I know if I took 'internal security sites' we'd be a nice symmetrical layout—assuming you count Nico—but I just can't help myself. I really don't have the slightest idea what a 'recipet' is, and... I think I am feeling curiosity., and heads to the column labeled 'internal security recipets'.

Rees jumps and exclaims aloud in surprise as the chairs seem to come to life. Without pausing to think, he unloads his bow into the nearest one!

Rees staggers back against the wall as the fiend claws at his already-gaping chest. With a quick shake of his head to clear it, he pauses, trying to figure out what Damiar is yelling about. Members of the community would never yell at each other like that. A moment later he shrugs, giving up on understanding her just as Garif's healing closes the worst of his wound. His mind clearing a little with the healing, the elf fires a parting shot into the devil's face and then edges around the foe and into the other room.

As he passes Garif, he nods solemnly, his somber expression fairly broadcasting, That was well-done, dwarf comrade. If I weren't a member of the Community, and had a concept of 'debt' like these Others, I think I would bear a 'debt' to you. As it is, I thank you.

Rees watches, enthralled, as Garif shapes the goo-ball, and when it transforms into a giant frog, his eyes widen significantly, as if to say, Wow, that's quite a trick! No wonder people believe in things like magic — it's almost enough to fool me! Pausing momentarily in his dwarf-rumination, Rees fires two arrows in quick succession into the foe before him as he notices an opening, but he seems hardly to notice the result as his thoughts return to Garif's exhibition.

He frowns, squinting at the frog-like creature across the room, then tilts his head at Garif ever so slightly, almost as if he's thinking, It is an illusion, isn't it? It doesn't seem to be hurting them... are you sure this is a good idea? They don't seem afraid of it.

Rees frowns slightly as his arrows go wide at such short range, then glances down at the gaping wound in his chest. His expression takes on a distant, thoughtful aspect, and his eyes wander around the room distractedly.

His gaze falls on Garif. The blob of green goo in the dwarf's hands seem to shock him back to reality, and the tall elf raises an eyebrow at the dwarf as if to say, Uh, Garif, what is that you're doing? That doesn't look like any sort of stone I've ever seen... but then, you're the expert. Glancing down at his chest wound once more, his eyebrow falls slightly and then rises again, as if expressing, Have you noticed I have a large opening in my chest? It seems to be bleeding quite a bit.

Schooling his features, the emerald-eyed elf raises his bow and fires again, this time switching back to his original foe. There's something uncanny about that other fellow.

Oh dear. Speaking as someone who's made gravy many times... if her gravy is boiling over, this kitchen is in serious trouble. :P

Rees raises one eyebrow and watches the exchange, occasionally tilting his head slightly one way or another as if to consider the situation from a different angle. Fascinating. Lies, and truth, interwoven... He frowns slightly. Completely inappropriate for a member of the Community, of course. Deception is a dalliance with damnation. But... His frown changes to a thoughtful look as he glances over at Damiar. But... why does it always seem to work so well?

A third elf appears from around a corner, his face sober and his emerald eyes seeming to take in everything. "Looks clear," he says quietly, glancing in the direction of the house guard to ensure the man isn't eavesdropping.

After a moment, he deliberately moves his gaze to the dwarf, and for a split second, a look of disappointment appears on his face — it's there for scarcely a moment before being replaced by the studied emotionlessness of before. "Hello. You must be the new Pathfinder," he observes. "I am Rees."
