Dear Paizo, I was saddened by the fact that my last issue of Dragon showed on my doorstep this morning, but was more angered by the fact that I've yet to recieve issue #358 or the poster from issue #359. I am going to sorely miss the physical versions of Dungeon and Dragon (both of which I've subscribed to since the introduction of 3.0), but I am NOT going to miss how long these magazines would take to get to me. Canada and the US share the worlds largest unguarded border, yet it can take more than a month, on average, for issues of magazines to cross this border. I've kept a spreadsheet of the standard shipping delays since the Nov 04 issues and here is a synopsis of my results. Dragon
Dungeon
This would often mean that you were releasing two more issues before I would recieve the first. And if you take just the stats since the January issues of this year, the avg # of days have significantly increased for both magazines (46 for Dragon and 39 for Dungeon). Almost makes me glad that my subscription is ending, as I'd probably switch to getting them from my local game store, even tho' it might cost me significantly more. Please advise me of the following
I thank you for your 5 years of an excellent pair of magazines and must admit that all issues I've had in the past have been quickly and professionally resolved. Sincerely,
I have two gaming groups the first group plays every two weeks and the schedule goes as follows
My other group is once a week from 8:30 til 11:30 and because of the short timeframe we are pretty much exclusively gaming. I don't see the social (BS'ing) as a big deal as that is one of the primary benefits/goals of a gaming group. A bunch of like minded individuals getting together and sharing in a social activity. I harken DnD to the Bridge nights of the 50s.
So, if as Eric said, that this Adventure Path has 12 parts, does that mean that it will be one an issue for a year? Certainly would be a hell of a way to boost subscription sales. I hope that it doesn't take more than a year, cause that would be hard to GM before it was finished. At one a month, if the DM gives himself a two month grace period, it would be quite acceptable for the party to never 'catch up'. Either way, Huzzah undead and dragons!!!!! Ratenef Scrillion
Well after months of patience as I waited for both the maps to arrive and my basement gaming room to finish being 'built', I am quite pleased. I took the four sections of both the Greyhawk and FR maps to Staples and had them laminated. I then spent time lining up and overlapping the maps so as to use packing tape and make ONE HUGE MAP of both 'continents'. I have now used 3M easy remove two way stickers to put the two maps up side by side on the 10' section of my gaming room, thus giving my groups the instant maps they (and I need) to see where they are in either Greyhawk or the Forgotten Realms. Thanks a bunch Paizo for the maps. Now if you would only make a map of the Ravenloft realms.............
Paddy, The two sources that come to mind for Githyanki and Githzerai information are the Planescape Guide to the Astral Plane and the Planes of Chaos. These are both available as PDF downloads from SVGames for $5 each. The first edition Fiend Folio is the first mention of them and gives a general overview. I'm not certain that there is any "Ecology of" type article for either of these races. Hope this proves helpful. |
