According to my browser search function there are only three references to the word 'green' on this page, and none of them involve anybody falling into a pit. I also said in my post that if I misinterpreted the map that I would shoot somebody who wasn't in a pit or prone, so I'll move and shoot the blue guy instead. I do have Precise Shot so I won't take any firing into melee penalties, and he does not have cover from my new position.

Help me out here, what is the big white 'no' symbol? Is that the grease or the pit? I didn't see any reference to a 'green' enemy falling prone or falling in a pit. If I missed it somehow, I'd move to shoot one of the others in point blank range if possible.

Quint frowns, then brightens a bit. "But its a great idea for a story, and I don't need to worry about sticking to the facts, because I don't know what they are."

Later on their journey, perhaps when Raven and Quint are on watch together, or riding out of earshot of the others.

Quint looks at Raven quizzically. "I meant to ask you earlier at the river crossing, but I figured you wouldn't want to talk about it in front of the others. If you want to talk about what's bothering you, I'm a good listener."

"Auchs, my friends and I are going to go back out and explore the Greenbelt, to make it safe for people to travel, live, and work. Do you want to come with me, or stay here with Akiros? I'm not in charge, Raven is, so if you want to come with us we'll need to get her permission. And you'll need a horse!"

I assume that Auchs and Dovan followed me, so I moved their tokens on the map to be adjacent to me.

Quint attempts to fascinate Dovan.

Fascinate DC 15:
Fascinate (Su): At 1st level, a bard can use his performance to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him. Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear the bard, and capable of paying attention to him. The bard must also be able to see the creatures affected. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents this ability from working. For every three levels the bard has attained beyond 1st, he can target one additional creature with this ability.

Each creature within range receives a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard's level + the bard's Cha modifier) to negate the effect. If a creature's saving throw succeeds, the bard cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and observes the performance for as long as the bard continues to maintain it. While fascinated, a target takes a –4 penalty on all skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new saving throw against the effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect.

Fascinate is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting ability. Fascinate relies on audible and visual components in order to function.

My impression is that Auchs is generally pretty taken with me, so a bardic performance to fascinate Dovan might work non-magically Auchs as well. BTW I'm not sure if I get to fascinate two creatures at 3rd level or 4th level, though I'd lean toward needing to be 4th level to fascinate two creatures. Just let me know if I am wrong, as I don't want to unnecessarily handicap myself.

Sounds fine to me. Quint has an iron liver, so he can certainly party hard along with the bandits to goad them on with the occasional Slight of Hand/Bluff check to pretend that he is drinking, and Perform checks to create the party atmosphere.

What do we do if all of the booze is for the Stag Lord, or he puts forth an objection to a celebration?
