As she talks, he seems to bring more of his inner self under control. Some of the red leeches out of his eyes, silver flowing in to replace it, and his breathing slows though it remains labored.

His body, on the other hand, continues to pulsate, stretch, and deform. His arms, legs, and wings deflate like empty balloons. The skin over the rest of his body continues to writhe and swell, and it stretches to nearly seven feet in length.

Phaezeriel is able to communicate a few times, and Vai learns that the Demon side of Ginni roused his Demonic impulses until they were the only thing driving him. She also learns that Demon-Ginni also triggered another physical change.
Phaezeriel opens their hundred eyes, fixing their glowing red stare on Ace. A frown creases Phazeriel's brows, and he looks back over their shoulders at the pillar behind them. A silver pulse travels slowly down the pillar, bright as the moon in its contrast to the dark pulses of power. It is slower than the dark pulses of power, and several of them flow down the pillar right through it, neither affected by the other. One of Phaezeriel turns its face back to Ace, and there is a tiny bit of silver seeping back into his eyes, just at the edges. ::My meddling self has terrible timing...:: There is an abrupt inrushing of air as all of Phaezeriel simply winks out of existence, his mind returning to his own body.

Isolation Room

Phaezeriel looks a right mess. He is bigger than he was before, his skin is swollen and pulsating with a slow rhythm, there are odd bulges in seemingly random places on his body, and the whole mass seems to be gathering a darkness around it. Vai cannot remember Phaezeriel looking this hideous .. pretty much ever.

His eyes crack open, and the malignant red light that floods forth is shocking by its abrupt contrast to the expected silver glow. His eyes fix on Vai, and his tumescent arms twitch slightly, his wings rustle limply. His eyes lock onto Vai and a shudder runs through him. A thread of silver seeps into his eyes, swirling with the red as he shudders once more.

He reaches out to Vai with his thoughts, but is unable to communicate coherently. She can sense the immense strain within him, which tells her the root of the problem. Somehow the demonic nature within him, normally well controlled, has slipped its leash and is running the show. He is not sure what is happening to him physically, but he is more concerned with the integrity of his mind.

Her presence there is enough to remind him why he should fight to gain control again. Finally his thoughts come clear for just a moment before the chaos of a mind and body running amok overwhelms them once more, ::Talk .. To .. Me .. Anything.::
narrator wrote:Vai had been enjoying the peace and quiet in the hatchery when her mom had sent her an urgent message.
Ginni stands up, looking panicked as she is no longer feeling reassurance from Phaezeriel. He seems more dangerous right now than her demon half. She doesn't know exactly what her demonic counterpart did to him, but she is sure that it was very, very bad. She needed help, and there was only one person she could get help from right now. Melody was still much too far away.
Ginni blinks and reappears at Ace's pillar. She puts her hands on it and doesn't so much call as drag him here into her mental landscape.
Hope you were sitting down because wherever you were, you just slumped over unconscious.
He sees three succubus-Ginni's when he arrives. One is flying towards them. One is flying as far away as she possibly can. And one is grabbing his arm.
::Ace, demon-me did something bad to Phaezeriel. I don't know what it is, but he isn't safe anymore. He isn't safe. Please, you need to keep him away from me. All of me. Even the evil bits who won't stop causing trouble. Please.::

In the Isolation room...

Phaezeriel's eyes pop open, almost comically wide, and a look of disbelief tinged with horror spreads over his face, ::No! No no no no no...not now!:: Red begins to slowly seep into his eyes from the edges. He turns to Tamina, and his thoughts are nearly panicked and turning more hostile by the word, ::Tamina, Run! Get Vai! Go! Now!::

I don't wanna be a bad guy! 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25.

Oh. Well then.

The Collective...

Just before he is pulled into Ginni's mind, Ace can feel the collective shift. It is as if the friendly and compassionate mind that was the force behind the collective had turned dark and sadistic. It was trying to figure out how to change the collective so that it could strike at Ace directly. And Ace is certain that it is only a matter of time before it succeeds. And then it is gone. The collective simply disappears.

In Ginni's Mind

Phaezeriel shudders as the Demon-Ginni breaks free from his mental grip. He acts like someone who has been asleep for a long time and is just starting to become comfortable moving his body again. He takes a deep breath, and when he opens his eyes, the red glow bursts forth twice as bright. And suddenly Ace is in front of him...

"Ace" wrote:

He then mimics Ginni, and blinks to Phaez, interposing himself between the quasit and his prey.

"Phaez, easy buddy, calm down. This isn't you, not anymore. Wrong like the scent of meat that has just turned rancid, like the taste of spoiled milk in your mouth when you expected a delicious drink, ::I cannot say I am surprised to see you in here, Ace. It was a good move on her part. But her Demon was too clever for its own good, waking me; I am hungry.:: Another Phaezeriel appears beside the first. Then two more beside them. Then four. In two blinks of an eye there are dozens of him. The webwork pillar behind them begins to pulse with a dark energy to be echoed utterly at random by each of the Phaezeriels before Ace and each one folds its arms over its chest, smirking.
Ginni sighed. She'd been expecting this one. Apparently the warm-ups were over. "Okay, no, I did not enjoy sucking out their souls, nor did I enjoy being made to vomit them back up, and that vampire virus seriously sucked. Pun intended. But, yes, I enjoyed kissing all those people. Quite certain not all of them were boys. You're a succubus, don't be so narrow-minded. I liked the attention. I'd certainly had little enough of it up to that point. But the thing is none of those kisses actually meant anything. And I've discovered since then how much nicer kisses that mean something can be."
"Oh, is that what you're telling yourself? That it's better because you care? I think you just found someone who knew what they were doing and got carried away. And you tell yourself this story about love to make yourself feel better, to convince yourself you're still a good girl."
"Oh, for crying out...seriously? I am not this stupid. If you're going to talk like a moron, don't use my face to do it. I have feelings. Like a normal person. Some of those feelings include lust. Again, like a normal person. That doesn't make the other feelings invalid. I can have more than one emotion. At the same time even. I am an incredibly complex person. That doesn't make me bad."
"Oh, hell no!" Ginni said, horrified. "I may not be able to help being a demon, but that outfit is NOT happening!" This reaction so startled her demon side that she forgot to fight back when Ginni reached out and grabbed her wrist. She dissolved into mist again, but the mist had changed color now. It was silver.

The next attack was more subtle, although she couldn't help but notice that demon her was wearing a classier outfit now. It hit her right in the jealousy next. And she had plenty of that. She'd always been jealous of people who had families. It was the only thing she'd ever wanted and the one thing she apparently couldn't have. "Okay, I get it," she snapped, frustrated. "I don't get to have everything I want. So? It's not like you're offering anything better." The demon didn't have a good answer for that one and this one also dissolved into silver mist, but it was close.

She lost count after that. It was a long, long parade of every doubt and insecurity she'd ever had. Every nasty thought, every possible perceived evil. Except...well, it was kind of...shallow. I mean, yeah these were negative aspects of herself, but...was this really all that the demon had to work with? No, it was probably holding the big guns for last. This was just the warm up act to wear her down. And to some extent it was working. Every time she faced down a piece of her demonic essence it took effort. It might be making her stronger, but it was also making her tired.

The latest one formed up. They were starting to look downright sophisticated now. Still sexy, but not slutty. "What are you holding out for anyhow?" Demon-Ginni taunted. "Love? Love is a joke. All it ever brings is pain. Are you going to try to contradict me? That boy...I know he hurt you." Ginni put her hands on her hips, totally fed up with this one. "Seriously? That's where you're going with this? Yeah, he did hurt me. So what? Do I look like the kind of girl who is just going to lay down and die because the boy I like isn't as perfect as I wanted him to be? Just no. This isn't even worth my time," she said as the latest demon vanished into silver mist.

Ginni sagged, breathing heavily. She wasn't sure she could keep this up. She eyed the barrier still....ugh.....still full of red mist. And the barrier was getting weaker.
"Phaezeriel? I don't know if I can keep this up," she said nervously.

Phaezeriel stands and watches in admiration as Ginni engages with her demon side.
Once she returns to his side, he reachs out and touches her shoulder. Her fatigue drains out of her like water running off a duck's back, and she can feel Phaezeriel's strength being offered to her. All she need do is accept it and it will become her strength.
Ginni wrote:Training Montage!
