"Arkwright, could I use your magical knack to help me retrieve something from the crypt? Remember that crevice we found under the Sarcophagi? There is set of brass scales I need retrieved. I'm much too large to squeeze in and get it but perhaps you can grab it with mage hand."

Petr moves gathers his friends outside the chambers in the main hall.

Let us tend to these wounds so we can finish up our mission.

Petr can't help but a little scorn show on his face as he sees Tanrov's shame.

Let it go Petr, he's young. Not like you've never run from battle.

Turning corner on his mood, he exclaims,

I was just getting ready for a nice long battle. Really wanted to see that evil Dakang go toe to toe with an angel.

Petr converses with the Lantern Archon while studying the rotting form slumped before them.

Petr continues speaking with the Angel for the next 15 seconds.

As his summon blinks out off this plane he turns and joins the conversation of his comrades.

Noticing the Tiefling gone,

"Where is Ashur? ASHUR! Are you hurt?"

Petr finishes casting and an Archon appears kitty corner from him in the room

Petr moves into the room and next to the Archon pulling his bow as he goes. He pulls an arrow from his quiver and fires upon Dakang.

As Dakang scurries up the wall, Petr realizes his companion will not be much use right now.

Petr chants and makes a few short movements to invoke a spell.

A shimmering bow formed from Stag horns appears on the ceiling next to Dakang.

Lets get a marching order. I'll be in the back or near the back. Freya can be up with the heavys if need be

Petr amasses the party near the room the Asimars indicate Dakang is in and begins shredding his spell list. Assuming I have the 6 rounds to cast all of these spells before opening the door.

Petr casts Bless - +1 to attack, +1 saves vs fear - Duration 5 mins.

Petr casts Shield of Faith on Erin - +2 deflection to AC - Duration 5 mins.

"Yes let us see what Dakang has to say for himself. Before we seek him in his chambers there are a number of spells I'd like to cast."

Seeing Ashur apply the water to his natural weapons Petr shurgs and applies some holy water to Frey's tusks.

"Can't hurt."

"I would be afraid of more visits from Demons. If our magics can recharge so can Dakang's"

Turning to the Aasimar Petr asks,

"Will you aid us in this battle friends? Surely if Dakang is evil you would help push him from this temple at the end of you spears?"

Petr breathes deeply the scent of clean water and lotus blossoms.

"Now we're talking, holy water!

Petr dips a handful of arrows, his spear and morning star in the water.

"Thank you for this."

Petr moves towards a position to speak directly with the Aasimar.

"Brother Tanrov, if you could please release Gastidem and allow our friends, the sworn guards of principles of Korada in this temple, to deal with him."

"As you have heard from my companions, there are more transgressions against good in this temple than a sadistic gnome. Please allow me to lay out what we have discovered. If you do not agree with us, we will leave by the end of the day without uttering one word of our disagreement to any of the rest of the temple."

Petr unrolls a palm sized piece of parchment and begins to read from a list:

"Gastidem is evil. You heard him plead guilty.

Gastidem says Dakang knows about his sadism and his perversion of the faith. What man of enlightenment would allow the maiming of his flock?

Three Dretches attacked us in the library. Demons! Here in your temple.

Three zombies attacked us in the crypt.

The library is missing more than half of the collected teachings and references it once had.

What books that are left in the library have been altered, more than half that once were there are missing.

The ceremony we witnessed this morning was full of contradictions.

"Kiss of Korada? Tell us more of this holy rite. And then maybe you could show us how it works."

Petr helps Tanrov with his armor.

Petr does his best to comfort Freya by pulling a waterskin from his bag and offering her some water.

"Anyone else need to, ummm, rinse?"

Petr pulls a scarf from his pack and wraps it around his nose and mouth. He avoided the stench this far, he's not taking any chances.

"Well.. then. Demons. How about that. Is everyone OK?"

Petr tends to Tanrov with a wand.

Petr pulls a cold iron arrow from his quiver and fires at the remaining dretch.

Petr holds his holy symbol as he chants the words to his spell.

+1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, all foes takes a -1 penalty on such rolls.

Was hoping to actually climb onto the table and end up one square to the right of where you have Petr on the map.

From where I am on the map, the two squares directly below me are not in the cloud as this is a 20' radius right?

Petr looks over his shoulder to Arkwright,

"Immune to Electricity?!"

He mentally files that fact away. Petr steps onto the table next to him and moves to the far edge drawing his bow as he goes.

Petr begins casting Magic Circle Against Evil

"Come towards me. They cannot cross my ward* against evil."

*If these are summoned monsters, I believe they cannot attack or come within 10' of me.

Petr reels towards the door at the intrusion and stares in disbelief at the abominations standing before him. Remembering a nasty encounter in a sewer under Almas, Petr shouts a few words of warning,

"Dretches! Vile demons from the abyss. Beware their stinking cloud. Normal weapons have little effect so hit hard.

Petr 5' steps away from the enemy and pulls a vial of Antitoxin from his belt pouch, flips the cork to the floor and quaffs the protection in one fluid motion.

This manual is quite handy, if I remember correctly a bit of study each day will help you overcome those who attempt to rob you of your free will by magical means.

Petr removes a few pieces of parchment, inkpen and inkwell from his bag and begins cross-referencing the catalog to the shelves.

"Hmm... well lets see, Tanrov and Ashur if you could go over to that set of shelves on the far side of the room and set all the books upright as well as open the scroll cases to make sure they are not empty that would be appreciated."

"Erin, if you could start after them reading the titles on the straightened shelves I will cross them off this list"

Obviously the other party members will help out if willing.

After an hour or straightening and organizing a scowl begins to form on Petr's face.

"We definitely have a problem here. Almost half of the books on the list are missing. Also, I've been skimming a few of the books we've cataloged and they have definitely been altered. For instance, in this book many of these symbols referenced as belonging to Korada do not belong to Korada. This adds credibility to Arkwright's knowledge of the demonic city, Dakang referenced in his sermon."

"Excellent! This catalog should speed things up. I would enjoy spending some time with a ledger and a pen looking over this neglected library. Who would like to help?"

Shall we search as a group? Perhaps all of us can help one person so we don't end up searching the same place twice? Who has the sharpest eyes?

I don't think you have ruined anything Arkwright. If anything you have planted a seed of liberation in their minds. Lets finish our appointed tasks and see if that sheds any more light on these contradictions.

Petr attempts to calm the mood of the conversation,

Please excuse my friend, what he lacks in tact, he makes up with his devotion to what is good and right. There are merely a few things that seem odd to us.

Petr takes stock of what the Aasimir have said and continues,

Yes indeed, I have found your meditations techniques to be most calming. How long have you resided in this temple? What more can you tell us of your charismatic leader or your order, Dakang? How long has he been living in the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment? And what did he do before arriving here?

Petr approaches the Aasimir with a smile on his face.

Blessings upon you friends. My name is Petr Galdr, I am a servant of Erastil and a healer. My friends and I have come to your temple to learn about Korada.
