If I encounter an enemy swarm, so I summon my own swarm to deal with them, can they attack eachother? Where is this found?

1) Does not being able to be tracked mean that you cannot be located via scent?

2) What terrain type is the classic Dungeon? Like a mummy's tomb or a labrynth.

If a PC is naturally blind, are they immune to curses and such that cause blindness? Or does the spell/condition remain in effect while doing nothing? Obviously, there's no additional affect for being blind twice, but PFS requires characters to remove conditions, like curses, by the end of the session. So wondering if, for PFS, the curse still functions in that the PC must still remove it before the end of the session...? I'm not sure if the intention of such PFS encounters is intended to be balanced by this sort of requirement.

Character with Warden 1 / World Walker 3. How many Favored Terrains does the character have?

By my count, the character would have 2 Favored Terrains, since both classes would stack together and the Ranger archetype gains their 2nd favored terrain at 4th level. I'm doublechecking.

GMing double check before I run a related PFS scenario.

Does the dwarven Stonecunning apply to noticing Creatures made out of stone? Would it matter if they were invisible stone creatures?

Does the +4 AC vs ranged attacks via Prone apply to Prone Helpless creatures?

Still zero dex, but means they net only -1 AC vs ranged attacks.

Probably covered somewhere, but wasn't directly stated in the CRB under ability damage (I may just have an old version).

If I deal CHA damage to a Monster, would it affect the save DCs of thier CHA based special abilities?

For a specific example, the Corpse Hunter ranger archetype can deal CHA damage to undead. If she targets a Mummy, and successfully deals 2 points of CHA damage, would this reduce the DCs of the Mummy's special abilities which are CHA based (Mummy Rot and Aura of Despair)?

I'm preparing to run a scenario that uses a mummy and it just occured to me that this might be the point of the Corpse Hunter's ability, which I had always kinda wondered what it was for...

Heard a few times that Starfinder Society is a Reputable organization, unlike Pathfinder Society, which is more an infamous organization. Nothing I read gives me a clear answer to this.

Is the Starfinder Society a good-guy organization, or is it just that we maintain good-guy PR/Propaganda?

In pathfinder, NPCs were often wary of pathfinders due to our reputation for havoc and destruction while working towards our own selfish ends (nothing evil, just looking to make our organization superior, even if it means screwing over other organizations).

Just asking from an RP stance. Is it wrong to RP the Starfinder Society as one would RP the Pathfinder Society? Are the two not interchangeable?

Spoiler:
Did the Commencement recently. As part of the first part of the scenario, player are given a Wayfinder-like device that is an implant. This created an interesting question of wether or not we had to remove our armor to benefit from the "glowing light source" placed in your hand. GM determined that yes, you had to compromise your environmental armor in order to use it, by talking off your gloves/gauntlets.
So I gotta ask, what's the point?

Just wondering, has anyone put together some sort of speadsheet with a breakdown of which creature types (and subtypes) are in each scenario? Or a graph that shows how common a given creature type is in PFS?

Mainly asking from a Ranger Favored Enemy stance. I'm of the mindset that a favored enemy should be one you struggle against, but choosing one that is ridiciously uncommon (or non-existant) in PFS scenarios would be a huge waste of a class feature. I don't feel that Favored enemy Undead or Human is really needed, due to the surplus of alternate ways to fight those creatures. Dragons, for example, is a great favored enemy, but if the creature type never shows up, it's just a wasted class feature.

On the one hand, this kinda metagaming, but at the same time, I don't think the intention is to have Rangers use Favored enemy on a creature type that simply doesn't exist in PFS scenarios.

This did come up in session. Targeted the enemy with my Mechanic's Static Arc Pistol. Roled a crit for the first time with that weapon, got to look up the crit effect. Book said the nearest creature took the arc "value" in damage. Nearest creature was an ally, GM determined this was PVP and said I can't make those attacks without asking permission first. Intially GM was opposed to letting the entire attack count, but after debate between half the table, GM ruled the arc damage just couldn't hit allies as sort of a patch for this particular session. For future sessions, I said I'd pose the question here.

So, Do I really need to ask permission each time I fire a weapon that risks hitting allies only on a critical effect?

Can't seem to find this.

If my drone is destroyed (Construct reduced to 0 HP), can I repair it? Or do I need to make a new Drone?

Oracle with the Bones mystery and the Vampirism Curse can potentially gain Channel Resistance from two sources, would it stack on itself, or would you apply only the "best" channel resistance?

Looking to run this one for PFS. If I run it use the CORE ruleset, do I offer the PCs the option to play one of the pregenerated characters that the scenario mentions are legal?

The pregenerated characters in question are made from the Advanced Class Guide, but are also printed in the scenario, so I'm unclear.

Suggestions?

Working on my Mechanic and I keep running into odd rules (some questions, some just odd):

Armor Slot (Ex) Am I limited to "any" army types, or can the Drone equip Powered, Heavy, or Light armor upgrades? Does the Drone count as armor with regard to these?

Melee Weapon Arm(Ex) I note that weapon proficency is not required for this upgrade.

Weapon Mount (Ex) As Melee Weapon Arm (Ex). Additionally, says it can hold two Batteries/magazines/other type of ammunition provided the ammunition is L or less bulk. Does this mean that Drones are unable to use weapons with ammunition that requires 1+ Bulk (Petrol or Missiles)?

Extra Ammo (Ex) Unlike Weapon Mount (Ex) above, this does not mention a bulk limitation on ammunition. Is this also limited to L bulk or less?

Weapon Proficency (Ex) Grenades and Sniper weapons are not on this list. Does this mean Drones cannot use them, or just that they will never be proficent with them?

Smuggler's Compartment (Ex) The very similar Cybernetic limb with hide-away compartment says that their secret compartment is easily found by security checkpoints. The Smuggler's Compartment makes no mention of Security checkpoints. Aside from the Perception check, are these compartments able to bypass security checkpoints, or will they be easily spotted?

Manipulator Arms (Ex) Can these arms wield Grenades? Or Sniper Weapons? I ask only because the other weapon mounting options are specifically unable to equip these.

Are the Starship's weapons considered weapons for the purposes of spells, class abilities and Fusions?

Obviously, the ability in question would need to specify that it applied to weapons, and not just certain weapons. Weapon Specialization, in example, only applies to weapons where the character has proficiency, so it certainly doesn't apply to Starship weapons as those do not have any proficiency feats.

For example, the Soldier's Arcane Sigil can be applied to any weapon, even one they are not wielding or even holding. It counts as magic at 1st, and gains fusion effects at 5th.

Supercharge Weapon, the spell, requires touching of the targeted weapon. For that, the caster may need to be outside the ship, or would being the gunner be sufficient?

Is this covered somewhere?

Making sure I understand this one.

Loads 1 spell gem into the gun. Unclear if this is in addition to ammunition, or if I have remove normal ammunition to load the spell gem in.

I have to be both wielding the weapon and Proficent with it. Then I cast the spell as a full-round action, even if I'm not a spellcaster.

Since I'm not a spellcaster, the spell level is higher than my level, so I need an attack roll against AC 1 + <spell level> in order to cast the spell. Easy enough.

Now, does this enable me to cast the spell normally, or is the weapon's range and damage somehow applied?

For example, I want to cast Mystic Cure via my Level 2 "Spellthrowing" Tactical Sniper Rifle. Is the range of the sniper rifle used at all? Does the Damage apply? Or do I just cast Mystic Cure normally as if I were a Mystic casting it (as in, range touch)? With touch spells, does the weapon need to touch them, or do I touch them with my hands?

If a weapon with the Bright weapon special property misses, does it still illuminate you and the target? Page 181 of the CRB.

Doesn't really address hitting or missing. Mainly wondering with regards to the Hover Drone, since it doesn't come stock with weapon proficency, the Flare Gun seems like a decent utility weapon for their default Weapon Mount (Ex), at least for low levels.

If the PFS party is playing a scenario where they must traverse a long distance complete with encounters and overland travel complications, what is the GM supposed to do if the players have functional alternate means of travel?

Are players able to bypass encounters and sections of the scenario if they have applicable alternate means to get to the scenario's destination? And more so, is this the sort of thing my PC should look into?

For example, the Solar Mystery can gain the ability to "Shadow Walk" at 1st level called Astral Caravan (Su), and at 3rd level would be able to transport a party of 4 (including themselves).

Shadow Walk remains inexact, but several PFS scenarios rely on the PCs taking a certain amount of time traversing a jungle or desert or mountain, and this would probably work to get through most of that.

One Eye Open

Can I use this to wake from a magical effect that puts me to sleep? For example, if someone casts Sleep on me during combat, putting me to sleep, can I attempt a perception check to notice the combat and then wake?

A few questions I can't seem to find in the CRB for the Drone' Riding Saddle (Ex) modification.

1: Says it makes the Drone count as a "combat-trained" mount but I can't seem to find where it's clarified how "combat-trained" differs from a regular mount in Starfinder?

2: Mentions carrying my mechanic and potentially another passenger, but I can't seem to find if this means that my Drone's Strength must be able to carry them, or if weight/bulk is ignored for "passengers" as part of the upgrade. How does this work?

3: Says I can "Direct my drone mount in battle without attempting Survival Checks." Does this mean I automatically pass any survival checks related to riding the Drone, or just some of them? Furthermore, does require an action of it's own (for me or the drone or both)?

Does Covering Fire, Fighting Defensively, or Harrying Fire work against creatures that cannot be hurt by the weapons you wield?

For example, if I use a kinetic ranged weapon against an incorpeal target, can I fight defensively, use harrying fire, or otherwise provid cover fire?

Heavy Weapon Proficency and Heavy Armor Proficency both require Strength 13 in their feat form

Some classes can start with these feats (Soldier for both, Mechanic with Exocortex for Heavy Armor). Does a character using a class with proficency need to meet the feat requirements in order to benefit from having the proficency?

In example, if my Soldier dumps strength, can they wear Heavy Armor or use Heavy Weapons without suffering non-proficency Penalties?

Question could also be asked as, is having proficencies in the class regarded as having the feat (and therefore needing to meet feat prerequisites to use)?

Page 113 of the Starfinder CRB. Enhanced Tank (Ex).

Second part of the ability grants a bonus slot to armor and stats that this bonus upgrade slot can be used to instal Powered Armor only upgrades into a suit of Heavy Armor. It also says this upgrade is purchased at half price.

That said, there are only two Powered Armor only upgrades in the CRB (automated loader and the titan shield), both of which are seemingly incompatiple with upgrade option on Heavy Armor.

The Automated Loader can only be used to reload weapons built into the armor, which as far as I know, is a power armor only thing. So even if I install it on heavy armor, I don't think it can be used.

The Titan shield should work, except it requires 2 slots. Given that this ability only grants one slot and only seems to apply to upgrades placed in that one slot, doesn't seem like this is compatible either.

How is the bonus upgrade slot via Enhanced Tank (ex) supposed to function with regard to installing powered armor only upgrades into heavy armor?

Archetype for the fighter. Archetype trades 1st level bonus feat, weapon training, and armor trainging for the ability to wield one size larger Two-handed weapons which attack at -4 at first level, which is slowly lowered to 0.

A large greataxe or greatsword deals +1d6 damage over a medium version. Or rather, it increases the damage by about 3.5 per attack. So with 18 strength, should deal 3d6+6 damage or an average of 16 damage per attack.

But at -4 to hit, it can't really be combined with power attack at low levels (because you can't hit much). Power attack adds 3 damage per swing. It also loses Weapon Training which adds damage per swing. So as far as I see, it doesn't really increase damage per swing.

So at first level, a S18 large greatsword wielding titan fighter is hiting on +1 and dealing about 16 damage per swing.

At the same First level, a S18 medium greatsword wielding fight with power attack is hitting on +4 and dealing about 16 per swing....

As levels progress, the Titan Fighter may be able to take Power Attack, but while they do that, the regular fighter gains Weapon Training.

As I see it, the only real advantages are in merely being able to wield larger weapons, and in that larger weapons have more HP than smaller weapons for sunder purposes.

So is there any real advantage to the Titan Fighter class?
