Globspit was born to a pair of smiths, Goggug and Goomlob, who live and work on the edge of the Rotgut district of Riddleport. The youngest of 13 children, he was smaller and weaker than all of his siblings, even once he hit his full growth. Though his parents forbade any sort of lethal attacks within the family, pretty much anything else was on the table. Though small, he soon learned to use the fact that he was quicker and smarter to start dodging his siblings as much as possible. And once he started working his parent’s forge, he discovered he had both a knack and an extreme interest in making mechanical devices, and started paying back his siblings by setting traps for them, while hiding nearby to observe the results. Though he didn’t always come out on top, his rivalry with his siblings taught him how to take a punch (or kick or headbutt), and to really pay attention to what was going on around him.
His first name comes from his tendency as a baby to form huge globs of spit at the corners of his mouth that would just sit there, neither falling off or getting sucked back in. Though his parents put little stock in surnames, he met a human male at the card table once who entertained everyone with his stories of his travels. Globspit found his tales particularly fascinating, and after the man continued on his way, decided to adopt the man’s last name as his own.
Out of all his siblings, only Globspit and his middle sister, Luckums, showed any interest in the family business. His parents are grooming Luckums to take over the family business, which Globspit is totally ok with. Of his remaining siblings many have wandered out of town, or are involved in their own affairs and rarely contact the family. Several are essentially missing and could be dead.
A few months ago, Globspit was at a bar drinking, when he met an odd group of travelers. They took a liking to him, and they all started drinking together. He barely remembers much of the rest of the night, except that they literally went bar hopping, teleporting around to different places. He blacked out, and woke up in Sigil. He's been there since then, and finds it and it's inhabitants fascinating, and has no desire to return home as of yet.
