Character Quote: “No, it's not yours. Do you really think this is the only one like it ever created?”

Soundtrack Song: I chose “Boom” by P.O.D. as a direct reference to the gun Maloika carries: the Harmona. It's the biggest gun you can pack from Guns & Gears. The harmona bird is also the symbol of the Black Powder Cadre, and every character wears an image of it on their person, whether it be a belt buckle, cloak clasp, or the like.

GM Commentary: "Maloika will be played by our esteemed Castellan, Sean Linville, who is a veteran of many projects: The Giantslayer Endeavor, The Strange Aeons Experiment, The Pathfinder Playtest, The Runelords Relay, The Azlant Odyssey, and The Slithering Salve. We first met Sean back in 2015, when we were running events at a convention in Philly. He walked up to the table, pulling a large DeWalt tool case on wheels; instead of it being filled with tools, the case contained every single Pathfinder hardcover to date. His character sheet was spot on, his rules knowledge was tight, and one look between Player Captain and GM said, “This guy is OAD.” Oh, and when we break something in the house during a Marathon, Sean will show you how he can spackle with one hand and roll for initiative with the other – that’s why we call him Castellan."

Anytime you have to face a Runegiant, things have gone very, very, VERY wrong!

True!

Time for Sajan to get out of that hard place.

Stride, stride, stride. More than 200' in a single round.

Bye-bye hard place!

Huzzah! Thanks for regaling us with your epic tale OAD! May the dice be ever in your favor!

Thanks! OAD is full of epic tales (it's crazy how much Adam remembers from decades back), and as the newest member I got to hear plenty of them when I joined. With this project, now I get to help make new ones. Huzzah!

Talk about a brutal showing lol. Thanks for the continuous reports, always an excellent read!

Brutal showing, but you heard it here first:

I'm leading the next OAD team to victory over this scenario. In edition 1.0, 1.6, 2.0, it doesn't matter!

Huzzah!! We definitely had a hand-slapping moment after we laid the smack down on those cyclops! Of course, we weren't trying to fight them...

Thank you for sharing! I LOVE the mood lighting!!

Glad so many people liked the lighting, Adam (GM) called me last summer and invited me to a "party-building party" where local OAD members were slotting the roster for each part of playtest, and he mentioned doing a setup where I might be able to build a frame to black out the room at any time of day. I made it happen, and we've been using it for three scenarios now. I've built a couple of the other lighting setups you see on the blog reports as well--the team named me "The Castellan!"

Seriously though, it got dark in the room, but not too much to prevent Natasha from walking straight at the undead and laying the SMACK down. I'm still in my rookie phase here in OAD, and the playtest has been really intense and action-packed. I'll be rolling with a 9th level monk (Sajan) in the next part!
