Back on Golarion Natesh is far more at easy as he thanks his allies. "It is rare that I manage my way though that many fights and I'm thankful to been able to fight alongside each of you."

"While I look forward to pushing the boundaries of my exploration, I think I will enjoy my time more on this world."

Thank you for running this, I did have a lot of fun during this. I really enjoyed playing with this group and I do hope that people enjoyed my presence on this adventure.

GM: One more question for resolution that I didn't think about until recently, I assume the refunded dimension door scroll is temporary, would it be appropriate for me to try to scribe that spell into my spell book now that we are at the conclusion of this adventure?

Late, but I'll still resolve my actions.

In the Future

Natesh is not excited to play with an artifact of this power, but seeing it go uncontrolled is an even worse fate so he moves to touch the arch.

Will to Touch, Mustering, DC 25: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24

And his mind is unable to resist the overwhelming power, still he holds on and forces his shuddering body to still and focus on attuning with the arch.

"Alright, maybe with this connection I might be able to see how to take control of this."

Using his magic Natesh grimaces a bit as he sees a less pleasant future and comments, "Well, at least I know one thing I shouldn't do."

He changes his approach and focuses a magical chant to shift the flowing power through the arch.

Arcana to Manipulate: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30

In the Past

Natesh casts another winning streak on Lazarus. Without any enemies to overcome the there wouldn't me much chance for luck to extend it, but it would counter a bit of the slowing effect on the Doctor.

He then moves to Gib to take the scroll from him.

My impulse to try to push for more successes, but it does seem more reasonable, within that short time, that we continue saving Kyras rather than trying to set up and complete another encounter in less than a day. I don't have strong preference, but I would be incline to stay with Kyra 1 through 4.

So if they are copies from another table, then these clones are copies of clones! :)

I do have a question for range, I was considering this turn, I wasn't sure how close I was though, I can use reach spell to cast spider climb at a range of 30 feet for three actions.

Am I in (the 30 foot) range of Kyra 1 right now and could they climb away from where they are (up and onto the ceiling)?

"Excellent, I'll get it from you in a moment." Natesh withdraws his scroll of fly and activates it quickly as he can, "Here Doctor, this should hopefully fight back against the rift's pull."

Natesh is drawing a scroll of fly and casting it on Doctor Lazarus.

Quick question, the post has:

Quote:

Kyra 1 climbed partway up a pillar whose base has disappeared into the rift; they are 15 feet in the air.

Kyra 2 holds onto a rope tied to a grappling hook, which they tossed into the chamber at the last moment to save herself. The grappling hook is gripping the gap in a stone tile and is clearly not well secured.

But in the slideshow Kyra 7 is 15 feet up and Kyra 8 is holding on to the slipping grappling hook.

Which was is right? (if not both)

Natesh has an intense, but brief, panic as the hound appears snapping at him, then again as the arrow and hammer come flying across the battlefield to bring down the creature.

He puts away his scroll as he nods thanks to Lizzo and Astrid. "It is rare that I come away from being so close to a beast like that without a mauling. Entirely due to your quick, and deadly, response. Thank you."

Seeing the group of healers at the center of the time rift does give Natesh pause as he thinks back to the undead from before lost to time.

Natesh can draw a scroll of fly and cast it on someone adjacent to help out here.

I'll admit that I was completely convinced the hound had teleported when I took my turn. I had only mentioned invisibility just walking through other options and was prepared to have my scroll grab not be terribly useful.

Assuming the hound is still invisible on my coming turn I will activate the scroll and point out where the hound is.

Natesh nods modestly to Lizzo, "thank you, still not as accurate as your. I might ask to bother you later to help me rectify that later."

Suddenly realizing that one of the hounds has vanished Natesh wheels his head around, his eyes darting around and taking hold of himself as he worries for suddenly being sliced to ribbons by the hound's ripping gaze. "I didn't see where it went. I think you mentioned it could do something like this Doctor. Could it have fled? I know that would be a sore temptation given how quickly it and it's fellows were struck down."

"Or it could be skulking around invisibly just waiting for a moment to tear us apart." Natesh moves alongside one of the pillars as he grabs a scroll to pierce invisibility, even if that isn't the answer, drawing some spell to hand that might provide Natesh more insight seems to calm Natesh slightly as he gives furtive glances around the room.

Natesh responds to Lazarus's question about precognitive magic with a meek nod, "just brief moments. Although, based on your attacks, your studies have given you a much clearer view of the future than my meager magic."

I'll vote combat. While I'm fine with skills, it feels like the group is more prepared for another combat.

"Yes, good work. Although I am worried that the ancient beasts were more a match for us than I like." Natesh shakes his head as he muttered, "I can still hear the stomping ringing in my ears."

Natesh nods along with Lazurus's explanation and comments, "I think I stay on the ground, but I can use my scroll to give any of you flight. I rather not try to learn to fight in air with these hounds."

One correction on my damage. On the 4th round of the rift ritual, I rolled a natural 1 on the Fortitude save vs the cold so I think that would mean I would take double damage since this is a basic Fortitude save (taking 42 damage instead of 21).

Natesh doesn't press harder on the understanding of magic but he does seem relieved at having something to grasp mentally that doesn't involve picturing incomprehensible distances or alterations in the flow of time. More relaxed Natesh does try some of the leaves by themselves. "We are grateful for you gifts, I only wish I could explore with you more outside the rips within reality. I joined the Society to explore out father and meet others. This is a bit more beyond what I was imagining though."

Without the lingering threat of combat over his head, Natesh is able to relax somewhat as he passes along the stream of conversation. Despite his comfort compared to battle, Natesh is a bit overwhelmed by passing on the conversation between the groups. He nods in thanks to Astrid as she shares a moment that doesn't require as much translation.

Natesh does pause a moment after Lizzo already having met others from another world. "I thought much of my own minor travels through the planar boundaries, but I'm more impressed by your own experience."

Between other questions, Natesh does ask Zaggarn about magical traditions among her people. "I'm curious if there are other things that we share between our worlds, aside an enjoyment of alcohol."

Natesh does his best to translate between Gib, Zaggarn, and any other questions or comments those present have.

Processing the words passing from side to side, Natesh tells Zaggarn, "I'm Natesh, a scholar within the Pathfinder Society from Golarion. As Gib mentioned, we came here through a place our organization has used to travel our world. The passage only leads here now as some beacon has taken control. We are tasked to seek the beacon and disable it."

"I believe and hope our goals are in line with one another as our problems are one in the same."

Thank you, Natesh will cast it on himself. I will apologize for cutting of that bit of fun.

Natesh waves his hands frantically to dissuade the shobhads. Natesh holds his book as some sign of intent as he explains to them in the alien language, pointing to the rest of the party as he tries mollify immediate worries as he stammers out to the four armed humanoids.

Shobhad Language:
"We are explorers who happened upon this place tracking strange magical disturbances. We have found damage when we come here and seek to repair it. We are only a small number of many looking through this place and we seek safe passage."

Taking a moment aside to speaking to the party Natesh says, "They question what we are doing in these ruins. They called them cursed, with which I'm inclined to agree, and that we shouldn't be here, another matter I have difficulty creating a zealous defense."

"They have had strange visions of some sort and are asking if we are responsible for them. I've mentioned what brought us to these ruins and the damage we have found here. I'll admit though with how little we know I might not be convincing."

Buying for an extra moment of time poses a question to the party and repeats it for the Shobhads, "do you know what this place is?"

Natesh nodes to Lazarus as he says, "I do recall Doctor. We might be able to find out much more by speaking with them. My magic should be able to help with that."

As they call out Natesh carefully and slowly draws out a spell of comprehension. "If anyone would like to take the lead here, I will happily allow it, otherwise I'm actually no slouch at working through problems. Although this would be a new experience for me."

I'll be casting a 3rd level comprehend language which will let someone understand and speak a language. I can cast this on anyone so if anyone wants it, I will cast it on them (My Diplomacy is +11 +12). Otherwise I will cast it on myself. If the target doesn't matter I'll cast it on myself.

Seeing the expertise of others at the tending and research, Natesh spends a moment to regain his focus and limited precognition into the danger filled future.

Natesh will try his part to focus his magic to control and seal the break in reality.

If Lazarus could clue me in or someone could aid my Arcana check I'll welcome it.

Natesh nods as she gets ready to continue pressing forward, "it is probably for the best, in the last few hours I've learned more about planar anomalies than years of study. Although I admit I may have thought them impractical at the time..."

Natesh holds hammer at the ready as the voices begin echoing throughout the hallway. Lazarus's guidance stops Natesh from blundering into a the planar fracture. Natesh takes a breath and focuses on the problem, "those sound like the echoes I heard within the early chambers. It is... hard to tell. Let me try to focus on a closer moment in the future, there might be a way to resolve this."

Natesh is a bit aghast the amount of surging blades that fill the halls. He is happy to see Gloma safe and assures her that it was his pleasure to help. However he eyes the walls and intersections of these ruins more cafefully.

"I think those were the wild animals. At least some of them. I'm wondering if anything drive the animals here, if some magical lure or just the large number of Pathfinders attracted them"

Natesh follows along behind as he looks for any lethal traps along the floor.

The one rule I'm familiar with is here in the guide in Negative Effects under Player Basics. Specifically

Online Guide wrote:
Other PCs can use their spells, feats or class abilities to assist characters in recovering from negative effects. They can also contribute consumables or even some of their gold, but they are not required to. Characters can always use gold earned during the adventure to clear conditions and those costs must be deducted on the scenario Chronicle by the GM.

And Negative Effects are defined as Death, Permanent negative effects, and Curses. I wouldn't count this as any of those.

In any case, I'm completely fine with covering the cost here with no worries, compared to a lot of negative conditions this is perfectly manageable and I'm happy to find a use for my random consumables.
