About Mothman Gene Steverson
The story of the curse:
Back in the 1960's, there was a Mothman sighted in West Virginia. What nobody knew was that this was in actuality one Jethro Steverson who was caught in the curse's transformations as he'd envisioned trouble on the bridge. The town quickly got a defender not only from the bridge disaster, but also as a low key super hero. He died in 2016 stopping a bank robbery. The curse, tied to the Steverson family line developed in Gene. The first time he transformed he was alone in his apartment and hit his thumb with a hammer while hanging a photo. While transformed, he had a vision of a gang shootout happening. True to form for the curse, close to the time of the gang fight, Gene began to transform randomly into the moth creature. He found and stopped the gang fight by fighting from the shadows, flying down and picking up gang members one by one and knocking them out. Since then, he's learned to control the transformation and seeks to help with the crimes that seem to be beneath other heroes' notice.
