And obviously it would be more expensive to stay in an extravagant hotel (or any hotel) for a year than it would be to get a house, I reckon.

Yeah there is some need for adjusting, though if they were to build a house from the ground up that price might be a little more appropriate to account for building materials, furniture, paying people etc.

I really brought up the standard of living rules because it was a pretty good contrast to FowlJ's post with the price of magical means of obtaining a home, though while looking at magical structures I found the Gourd Home.
It can fit 10 small/medium creatures and provides 'moderate comfort' which I guess could fit into the Comfortable standard of living, while also being portable and magical at the cost of 650gp and being a level 9 item, which is what level Joutsenlaulu should be around.

I don't really know how much difference in price a mundane home vs a portable and magical home would be, but if you can spend 650gp for a comfortable home that can fit a group of 10 and is portable, maybe buying a mundane home in the city is a bit cheaper than that?
DomHeroEllis wrote:Misko wrote: Joutsenlaulu wrote: Misko wrote: Joutsenlaulu wrote: What if I say Precipice Quarter?
