Sounds like both Akku and Siiska were the only ones to fail - you both gain the new shadowbound corruption. Please remind me if I forget about it!

<Well, well, well...> they both smile. <Let us continue the story of the Reborn. Started as a secret society, the Reborn assert that when a caligni die, fragments of their memories pass on to their children while their souls move on to the afterlife.>[b]

You would remember that when any caligni dies, their body combusts and leaves almost no trace.

[b]<The Reborn argue, the violent flash of energy upon death is a physical manifestation of the split between memory and soul. Most caligni cannot recall these ancestral memories except in dreams or on an instinctual level. Except for the Reborn themselves - they claim they can recall ancestral memories dating way back to Earthfall, when the Seers of Calignos first led their people into the Darklands. You can see why this is appealing to the Reborn.>

The other owb (telepathically) continues. <It was a sham of course... until a caligni named Nephenie came along that could actually communicate with with her ancestors. Let's just say she had a long talk with one of her ancestors. They had a long talk... which lead her down her path. She quickly took control of the Reborn and the rest is history.>

Again, the other owb cuts in. <We do not like her methodology. She is a bit too brutal. She also has an acquaintence... Veilisendri...>

Anyone listening can hear a hint of jealousy at the name of Veilisendri.

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed post. I've been working quite hard the last few weeks - basically work 7 days on, 1 day off, 7 days on, 1 day off. Been getting home around 10/11 most nights so haven't had the energy to post.

I'm about 80% done with a new post, but have to head in to work (or be late). Just wrapping up the encounter with the owbs (they are just giving backstory really). Please decide what to do next/where to go - east, north, or west.

I'm going to skip some of the smaller/less important battles (or we can just roleplay them out and not actually do combat).

Akku Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Akku doesn't see any Reborn either.

What is flslf? False Life (self)?

What do you do? Approach the four freestanding columns? Approach the two dark pools filled with inky liquid? Head north thru the 60ft-wide arch? Head east towards the unfinished alcove? Feel free to place yourselves somewhere in the room.

1) Yes, took damage from a few of you but had plenty of HP left. It cast a spell (defensively) and teleported away based on written tactics (i.e. he retreated after dropping to a certain HP threshold).

2) Green = tower guards. All are dark creepers (CR 2) and are up on the tower. They are all aiming ballistae at you (but you guys acted in a 'surprise round' so they didn't attack this round).

Blue = cave giants. They are also aiming ballistae at you. One is heavily damaged by Galadhan.

Red (in front of door, behind portcullis) = dark champions. CR 5.

Dark Champion description:

This gaunt humanoid’s body is entirely cased in black plate armor. Its open-faced helm reveals its pale skin and shallow, fleshy hollows where its eyes should be.

Yep, level 8-10! I haven't forgotten about them... but I haven't had a day off in, what, 9 days now? I have Friday AND Saturday off so I'll catch up on some stuff then.

Feel free to roleplay a bit - your adventure to Ancestor Isle, what you see there, how you plan on taking on the Reborn.

From what you understand, the Forsaken Fane is the headquarters of the Reborn so the masterminds behind them will likely be here. It's gonna be fortified and hard to get through with plenty of guards and perhaps some traps.

Once Galadhan shoots at Ezkurian and the Confusion is dealt with, we are basically done with Chapter 2. All you have to do is figure out how to get up the well and talk to the prisoners briefly.

Once out of the Sadist Spires, you level up! There is only one real danger left - the Foresaken Fane where the Reborn are headquartered.

It is one fairly large dungeon but I am planning on cutting out the boring/uneventful combats and combining some of them.

Also I suggest you read up on corruptions, particularly the Shadowbound Corruptions!. Just as a hint, your shadowbound corruptions are going to be more prevalent!

If he moves up 5 ft, then you and Galadhan can target him over the Wall of Force.

So everyone took half damage from a successful save from the rope creature's breath attack (7 hp). The acid from the swarms brought you down to 0 temp hp. Which means that the acid happens. So at the start of your turn, do a Reflex save. If you fail, you take 12 acid damage for 2 rounds. You can attempt a new save as a full-round action instead.

You're here to rescue some prisoners - from Aiyana's estate and the Bleakshore Council. The Bleakshore is a district in town, and the council are basically anti-Reborn. You heard through the grapevine (e.g. Shevarimarr) that the drider Ezurkian is holding them hostage in his Sadist Spires.

You are currently in the Sadist Spires. There are two spires (giant stalagmites) that are connected. You have searched the three floors of one spire. There is a bridge to the other spire that you haven't checked out yet. You haven't seen the drider nor prisoners yet. You can assume the owb/Gallach were visitors, not the owners of the spire.

Calivarius (the female caligni prisoner in the other room) has a +1 spell storing rapier (containing hold person), a +1 mithral chain shirt, a +1 buckler, a cloak of resistance +1, plus 17 pp, and 5 gp.

Most of the other things in Aiyana's estate are either valueless, Aiyana's (though you can take anything if you want), or you haven't found it yet.

In the tomb, you found a +1 vicious lance from one of the haunts. Then two +1 returning shock tridents from some statues.

Most of the other treasure you found was masterwork stuff + gold that you'd likely sell. I think that's all. Will double check to make sure.

I work for the forest service as a hydrologist. May be going out to a site (I think the one we are going to is an 8 hour drive into the mountains) in two weeks for a few days to 'winterize' one of our projects. I'll keep you updated on my schedule - plans most likely will change.

Welcome back! And away we go...

Commando Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Mastiff Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Farrar points at the shadowy mastiff. The dog's eyelids start to feel heavy as it slumps to the ground, very much asleep. However, the commando shakes off the slumber and stares directly at the group. "Hey! Stop right this second!"

Before he can advance any further, an arrow flies from Galadhan's bow and punctures the commando's shoulder. He winces in pain, but it does not stop him.

Akku (and his sister Siiska) merge together into one being, despite the phantom's protests. Tendrils start start manifesting out of the spiritualist's back (cool ability!). The commando is very much distracted and does not see Akku hide.

(Thank you for the 'View from the East'!)

Nyx and his hawk - Arcane Familiar - sync as well. The hawk snatches the bauble from Nyx and flies up above the enemies. Finding a gutter (or some sort of neat architectural feature), it perches, staring intently at the sleeping hound and the commando. Nyx, on the other hand, starts readying a spell to launch at the enemies.

Aleks charges in, eyeing both the commando and the mastiff. Seeing as the commando is likely the greater threat, the fighter attempts to stab a few holes into him. He pokes the hole created by Galadhan's arrow, tries to twist it in deeper, but feels some resistance (does not confirm the critical hit). The commando winces in pain, but still stands.

With the mastiff sleeping, the commando looks around at Aleks in front of him, winces at the pain in his shoulder, but jabs at the fighter in front of him, a short sword in both hands.

Short Sword w/ Right Hand: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

All you know is ancient history, rumors, and theories (I don't beleive any of you rolled high enough on the check). Most caligni have forgotten about the Cradle of Night. Aiyana knows little - that whoever possessed the orb would give them increased strength, health, and healing capabilities.

Haramil, who's tomb you just explored, was one of the last person known to have one of these Cradle of Nights. But it likely corrupted him and his subjects feared (or hated?) him, hence the disrespect you found in the tomb - fake gifts, backwards facing statues, etc.

But there is no evidence (yet) that the Reborn 'cult' has anything to do with being 'reborn' or transforming into anything. Seems to be just a name. Maybe once they have the orb and have a chance to play around with it, that may change.

The hobgoblin known simply as Arvax stands out like a sore thumb. This hobgoblin shimmers in the sunlight as Arvax's crystalline skin is very obvious. Arvax is very aware of General Azaersi liaison with the Plane of Earth, as their heritage is now infused with a tinge of earthen elemental background.

Arvax is an agender oread hobogoblin from Oprak. Typically no pronouns, but sometimes uses they/them as pronouns or very rarely he/him or she/her.

"It'll be good to be back home. It's been a while since I've visited Oprak. I have a few ... friends? who have been working as Opraki diplomats." Arvax examines the other Pathfinders as they walk along.

"Though I never really fit in to hobogoblin society," Arvax gestures at their own crystalline body, "it'll be good to converse with other hobgoblins again. Living and working in Absalom has shown me quite a different outlook on life. Hobgoblins tend to be closed minded, but I've learned to tinker with things I probably would not have been able to do back in Oprak."

Arvax realizes they have not done an introduction. "Oh, and I am Arvax, great inventor of Absalom. Pleasure to work with you on this mission."

I haven't really looked into faction goals, so don't know the exact rules on them.

@Maud, I'll say yes you peacefully resolved that encounter with the wyrds. They were likely to fight you, but you guys managed to resolve it without a combat.

Looks like a majority wants to give the horn to the Concordance, so will mark that on the reporting sheet. Will get your chronicles out in the morning!

Hasslo sighs. "This place... we need to eliminate all the ogres. What they've done is pure evil.". The dwarf sulks after the others, barely lifting his head.

"How are you guys so ... chipper? Sorry to be a downer, but this place is gruesome.".

Hasslo just can't get out of his funk. Maybe slaying a few more ogres will make him forget the desecration of the Black Arrows. But who knows.

"I'll follow you guys. I've never had a knack for large buildings like this - I'd probably get you guys lost if you followed me.". He does slightly smile.

"I'd rather not see an ogre with their pants down, thank you very much.". The image of a nude ogre is now burned into Hasslo's brain.

As the others prepare, Hasslo pulls out a wand and touches his chest with it. His legs feel a bit faster but the dwarf doesn't feel quite as stealthy or nimble as he watches Seamus do his thung.

The cultists leave the Pathfinders and the group of you return back to the Grinning Pixie to find Calisro Benarry waiting with a few exhausted sailors. "We found these survivors of the shipwreck in Driftport."

She compares the notes of the sailors and what you guys found. "A mutiny! Ah, yes. And an anomaly. How unusual. We will send some experts to further study the anomaly."

Okay, that was the last part of the adventure! We're officially done. Will work on chronicles and get them out by the end of the day.

Primary Success Condition: Return to the Grinning Pixie with Jaheem's log.

Secondary Success Conditions: if you defeat or swear allegiance to the Tempest Monarch or if you convince the cultists from the Cult of the Eye to consider an alliance with the Society or the Concordance of Elements.

Hasslo's eyes light up at the mention of better gear and more power. 'Yes!' he thinks, but realizes that the others are too hasty to attack.

"Wait! We can talk this out...". He sighs, realizing his options are limited. With Lucrecia stuck in a corner and surrounded, Hasslo turns his attention to Vale.

"Please, stop Vale! We're friends."

Hasslo uses his weapons to knock Vale's battleaxe out of his hands.

Will use Disarm. Do not have Improved Disarm so provokes an AOO.

Thanks for the intro! Have some family stuff to do this weekend, but will work on the character bar as soon as I have some free time. Chose the wrestler dedication and changed a few feats, but otherwise mostly the same! Wanted to differentiate myself a bit from Slick and Billy.

As for introductions, I'm very flexible on how you guys want to do it. I like Slick's idea that Osh was there all along.

Also, quick rules question. A deer animal barbarian's antlers have a 10ft reach and have the grapple trait. Does that mean that Osh can grapple 10 feet away with his antlers? Just want to make sure!

EDIT: If any of you have seen Toy Story, I'm basing Osh off of Bullseye.
