I would be interested in playing a gestalt game. I'm exceptionally disinclined to DM anything, because I've been doing nothing but DM for the past couple of years and quite frankly I'm burned out on it.

But I've got a character who would be great as a bard/rogue! She's quite a card. ;D (of course, I could manage other class combinations without a problem, but my bard is high on my list of characters I NEED to play). And being a gestalt game, I'm sure I could convince my brother to get involved--he's been wanting to play one for some time, but they're too uncommon and typically fill up fast. (I'm genuinely surprised you haven't had much reception on this idea). He'd likely give you a run for your money when it comes to the ass-whooping, provided his dice don't roll 2's all night (such is his luck).

I'm rambling. I'll shut up now. :D;;

Additional note: this is NOT an online game... I didn't realize that by filling out campaign information that Paizo would stick this thread in the online recruitment thread as well as the gamer connection thread where I originally posted it.

I apologize for any confusion.

I'm going to be running a Pathfinder game soon, but before we can get started my group needs two more players.

It is a custom-made world and campaign that utilizes the Pathfinder system as a database. New races and deities have been made available specific to this campaign.

We play on Sundays (except holidays) from 5pm until 10pm. We have a temporary location, but a more permanent one that caters to our hours would be preferable; if you or someone you know would be willing & able to provide a place to play, please let me know. I've checked the local game shops, but their hours don't sync up with ours, and I want to avoid parks due to easy cancellation by weather.

The group so far is very tolerant of race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation. If problems do come up, I'll handle them as they're brought to my attention. I only ask the same respect that I give you as an individual.

If you're still interested in playing, please let me know via a private message. I have PDFs available to assist in creating your character, as well as provide the player with information on the world we'll be playing in.

Thanks for your time and consideration. :)

[Edit:] It should be noted that this campaign will not be entirely family/child friendly. I say this because of certain planned points, and because of my own vulgar tongue.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it, and it gave me some ideas I didn't even think of.

I'm definitely going to have to sit down and make a list of things to watch for as part of my prep.

Hey there.

I'm currently working on writing a campaign which I wish to run with my friends. ...Well, okay, two friends, my girlfriend, and one of her friends.

My girlfriend's friend (let's just call him Rick; not in any way relevant to his real name, it's just a handle) wants to make a witch. He has been trying to jump through hoops and bend me over backwards about rules and flavor for my campaign. Because I want it to be a low-fantasy meets "ZOMG WTF Where did this come from?!" fantasy, I've restricted the races to core only. That was the beginning of my problems with Rick, but not important!

Because I don't want to leave anything up to chance, I said he could NOT use the flight and prehensile hair hexes for free out of combat as flavor, because they never know what's going to happen, and if he suddenly drops a teacup he's holding in his hair, he knows something is about to break out in the inn! So he takes up the Cackle and Fortune hexes, as mentioned in the title.

Apparently, what he plans to do is spend a standard to use the Fortune hex, then a move to use the Cackle hex to extend the duration, and basically just keep using the Cackle hex throughout the entirety of the day until they sleep, and then start all over again the next day.

I have no idea how to treat this, aside from slapping him across the face with a leather glove because he keeps doing this every time I deny him something he wants. Kind of like a crying child because you told him he can't have a lollipop (only I wouldn't slap a child).

While there's the obvious options of killing the character, silencing the character, or...whatever condition I could throw at him, this isn't a permanent solution and he and the other players will call me on it.

I'm looking for clarification, mostly, on how the hexes work because I am just so confused and stressed over something that's probably really simple.

Any advice?
