Martin Marius is a man best described as insubordinate, short tempered, and crude. A former member of the Imperial Guard stationed at Tartarus Point in Lowerborough Martin was soon court marshaled for insubordination and sold at auction as a Kept in order to pay his debts to the Empire. Apparently seeing something in him that no one else did Aluric bought his contract and turned him into a farmhand on his farm The Golden Fields. 5 years have passed since that day and Martin hasn't changes much, he's still insubordinate with most of his peers and some of his superiors, quick to anger, and short of almost any tact around anyone. Still his skills as a farm hand are not to be denied as he can reap nearly a whole field by himself and is able to push a plough through even the most stubborn of earth, rocks, and weeds. On top of this he has also found useful side work as the farms local strong arm, using his military skill and physical strength to help fend off local wildlife or more often drunks and vagabonds that sometimes wander onto the property off of the Imperial Highway 2 miles away.

When not working he can often be found in his bunk in the barn talking with Jarlith the blacksmith and Aluric's younger brouther. The two became fast friends after his arrival and bonded over war stories and smithing chatter. These stories are often highlighted or brought on by revealing his tattoos which cover almost all of his torso beneath his shirt. Each one he says is a sacred marker of his achievements and honor to his prophet Stromyr, prophet of storms and warriors. Many a night has been spent whiled away by the farmhands listening to his tales of "gaining his jaw" or "collecting his cock". Meanwhile Aluric has forbid his children from pressing Martin on his tattoo stories saying that, "He doesn't want his children's heads full of Blood and Glory. It is a great way to be dead before their time".

In keeping with his secondary job as a strong arm for the farm martin is allowed to keep his banded mail with him in his bunk in case it is needed. Meanwhile Aluric keeps his weaponry, a great pickaxe in the shape of an anchor and his heavy crossbow in the farmhouse to help avoid any incidents should he find himself in a foul or drunk mood.

Martin is also known to still wear the arm shackles around his wrists but no one knows quite why. When pressed on the matter his remark is often, "It's to help me remember who I am and who you are". If pressed further his response often involves bodily harm. Many believe that he hides 2 more secret tattoos beneath the shackles, markers of events even he keeps secret.
