Nodding with satisfaction as some of the goblins slump over in slumber, M'ara joins the others in jumping through the broken skylight.

She begins to plummet, but with a cutting motion of her hand, M'ara descent slows to a more comfortable velocity.

Flight Hex, feather fall at will. Not sure, can she shoot her crossbow while descending in feather fall?

Having Shivi return, M'ara relates the news of danger and revulsion to the others.

When the rope becomes available, she climbs up with the others, looking down into the scene below. Shocked, she frowns but also nods at the power of the harrow cards to show her what comes.

speaking lowly to the others, "I will attempt to put as many as I can to sleep... but first how do these windows open?"

Not sure how the whole know-what-your-familiar thing works. She doesn't see through Shivi's eyes, but can tell what he's seeing?

M'ara leans back and considers all that has transpired over the last few minutes...something that has transformed her and her future. Slowly she gathers up the cards, looking at each one as she does so.

Stacking them carefully, she returns them to her pouch, then spying a nearby throw, gently wraps it about the sleeping wise woman.

With a whispered thank you, she leaves and joins the others...

M'ara's eyes narrow at the scene of the newest card, "Seems our survivor may be in over his/her head..." she says considering both Madame Mvashti's words and the image, before turning her eyes to the next card...

M'ara's mind lurches back to her card reading with Madame Mvashti, nodding, "The Waxworks...I mean , the Glassworks...that where we'll find some answers..."

"Ah, a survivor of the goblin attack..." she frowns, trying to understand the portents of which the old Varisian talks of. Taking a deep breath, "There were many survivors...but you say, it is a woman...with white hair?? "

She smiles. How can she know what your first card is?
"Now the second card. What happened. Not what helped us or hinder us, but what actually came to pass. What do you see there? What has just happened to our little town?"

M'ara's eyes flutter open and looks from the second card to Madam Mvashti, "An attack....and obstacle to overcome? Peace can only come from answers..." she responds, trying to allow the words to come as the are ,and not force anything.

She looks to the thirds card...

Concern moves over M'ara's face as they follow the track back to the front gate, "Indeed, hopefully guards saw something, if nothing else re-examining the tomb is a good idea..."

M'ara raises an eyebrow at the rumor of Lief's conquest...or was it the other way around, murmuring to the big Ulfen, "Hmmm, you work fast!"

She matches gazes with the sheriff, inclining her head with respect, then turns to the priest.

"The obvious path forward would be to follow the trail out of town, see where they took the ashes.." she suggests to the notables and her own companions.

M'ara smiles at Madame Mvashti's compliments as the old woman requests a 'reading' of the cards, trying hard not to show how happy they maker her.

Pulling her worn Harrow-deck from her pouch, M'ara shuffles them automatically, but without any of the fanfare or flair she might for someone on the street.

Breathing deeply, her eyes fluttering, she surrenders to whatever force or power compels her to seek her destiny through these strange cards of the Varisians.

Sneaking a peak to her left, she can see Shivi watching on avidly...as she quickly plucks a card and places it in the first position...

But she wasn't ready for this. She never thought a woman could be that old. Her back completely bent. Her skin dry and wrinkled. Toothless, her lips sunk in her own mouth. Almost bald, with only some white hairs here and there, uncombed.
Her dead eyes.
Her voice was very low. Heavy accented, maybe an old varisian dialect. M'ara needs to stop moving and stop breathing so she can hear and understand her.
"You have learned to wait, my child. You have learned patience. That is unexpected in someone as young as you. Welcome to my house. I am Madame Mvashti."
She smiles, almost sweetly, extending a trembling arthritic hand across the table, in your general direction.

M'ara is a bit too much engrossed in her fascination with just how old Madame Mvashi is...taking in all of the features of old age that she's never seen up close.

Realizing she was staring, she stammers a thank you to the old woman's compliment, extending her own hands and gently taking Mvashti's trembling had into hers, pressing gently to convey her thanks for seeing her.

The inside of the house is very dark, and filled with adornments, colors and smells of Varisian origin.
You are asked to sit in a small room, with a small round table, and given a strong-smelling tea you can't make what is it made from.
Esmeralda, still with her worried look, says her goodbyes.
"See you back at the wagons. Good luck, and may Shelyn bless you."
You are left alone in the room, the smell of the tea filling your nostrils.

M'ara smiles at Esmerelda and bids her thank you and good bye.

M'ara closes her eyes and breaths in the fragrant scent of tea leaves, then opens her eyes and glances sardonically at Shivi, perched unconcernedly on her shoulder, pretending to be busy preening some of his chest feathers.

Clasping her hands in front of her, she waits for the Madame's arrival.

M'ara joins the others in puzzling over the stairs and the theft of the urn of ashes, "Why steal the holy man's ashes...desecration?...sounds personal..." she muses, before returning to the town center and accepting the many thanks from the townspeople.

M'ara walks up, a little miffed that the noble was singling out Anton for praise, crouches and snaps the end off of the bolt she put into the Goblin Rider's brain pan, "This one's mine, I think...".

While looking Aldern in the eye, and glancing with disapproval at his foot on the dog, she ties the bolt feathers to one of her fetishes that hang off of her armor.

Satisfied, she then stands and sees if she can retrieve any of the other bolts she fired...dismissing the noble from her attention.

M'ara's eyes widen as the goblin dog runs towards him, it's master bouncing about.

She feels a moment of sympathy for the mutt, but only a moment as she steps aside at the last moment, it's slobbery maw snapping at her as it charges past.

Well after 3-4 days of misery, and about 8 lbs , I recovered...only to step into the maelstrom of christmas activities I need to get caught up on....finally calmed down, will get back to regular posting...sorry for the absence..

She then moves to accompany the Magician...

M'ara looks at herself in the mirror, smiling back at herself, seeing herself, on a journey of discovery...of what, where and how...she doesn't know...and really doesn't want to.

She gives herself a wink then continues into the town..

M'ara walks through the festival, eating the food, smiling at the locals and children, reveling in the joy of the people of Sandpoint. She even allows herself to be pulled into a dance by one of the local boys, attempting to match the unfamiliar dance.

Begging off, she gathers her pack and joins the long line for Ameiko Kaijitsu's offerings, savouring the salmon dish especially.

Still chewing she waves to Stella as she listens to the priest prattle on, giving him the same patience the locals seem disposed to give.

When the goblins attack, she spies those near the wagon and tries to decide the best course of action...

She lets go of the girl's hand, holding up her own so that Shivi can alight upon it from the heights. From his perch, the hawk stares intently at Stella.

Lowering her crossbow, she plunges her other hand into her pouch, bring forth a pinch of fine sand....which she casts towards the assembled goblins, while uttering a gutteral command, centered to catch as many as possible of the nasty beasts.
