I'm curious, how do you other players handling character death? IE, your and adventure deck #4. You're playing in a party of 3 (2 other real life friends). One of your friends dies. What does your group do? Does everyone start a new character? Do you replay old scenarios as a group (the rules don't seem to support this)? Do you encourage the player to play solo? What if they don't have a base set?

Just curious about how you guys all handle it as the rules don't specify how to catch a party member up with a new character.

If your playing with Balazar, and you take say.. 10 damage, do you lose the cohort too?

This is a basic question, but I cant seem to find anything that would prevent it, but can you play the Inflict spell AND a weapon during a combat check?

So.... how do you guys all deal with character deaths? Do you allow new characters at same level? How do you handle wealth of the new characters?

I've been chewing on this problem for a few years now. Our group allows new characters at wealth by level, starting with xp equal to what the character that died had. I dont like this because it tends to encourage character suicide when a player isn't completely happy with their character, and often the wealth by level for a given level is higher or more flexible that what would otherwise be available. Also, after 3 years of playing together, we still have not figured out what to do with the loot on the dead character.

So, I'm curious on what other groups are doing, and what has worked well and what has not. I'm back to GM'ing again, so I have an opportunity to change this, so I'm eager to see what others do.

So, there are iron spikes priced, pittons priced, knowledge: engineering... but no where in any of the paizo books can I find a price for timber, planks, or any raw wood except for firewood! Does anyone have any idea how to price lumber?

I'm curious, for roll20 or PDb, or any other format, how are items purchased, etc, how are chronical sheets in general handled?

Assume the creature with the control of the grapple is a lvl 11 tetori. Is he able to use power attack during the damage option following a grapple check?

Would the grapple check take the attack penalty of power attack?

Last question, during the damage option following a grapple check, do you have to make an attack roll if your doing unarmed or light weapon damage?

Also, if power attack is allowed, Cornugon Smash would work, right?

I'm finally getting a chance to play vs gm, and I"m thinking of making a social focused inquisitor archer. Is there lots of opportunity for bluff/diplomacy/intimidate? Or is it going to amount to only a handful of checks throughout the AP?

Any advice?

Assuming any piazo published for pathfinder material, What is the best possible crafter?

Dwarven Wizard?
Dwarven Forgemaster (cleric)?

A INT based fighter, with UMD, master craftsman feat, and lots of craft skills?

What's your guess on the best possible crafter?

How would you execute the rolls? The PC jumps up to grab the creature and pull it down.

Ok, my goal is to create a great enemy for my pc's that I can have as thier goal after rise of the runelords, and take them from lvl 18ish to lvl 20. To do that I will make another dungeon crawl to go the last 2 levels, but I'm in need of a solid BBEG.

The backstory of one of the pc's is my inspiration so far. The pc has a master that is a paladin, which I look forward to using as the ultimate BBEG. The plot so far is the paladin has in her possession an intelligent long sword, who's purpose is (conveniently) to corrupt this particular paladin to be an ally and champion of lamashtu. It's capable of changing its alignment from ce to true neut as a disguise, and will have 2 different sets of powers.

The red set makes the sword blade glint red, change alignment of itself to neutral, take the paladin down the "red" path, and have abilities to support that. This will make more sense when I get to my core question for the community.

The black set makes the sword blade glint black, responds to detect evil like a hydrogen bomb in brightness, draws the paladin down the black path, and have abilities to support that.

The sword when out of proximity to the paladin alternates between white, black, and red, and white the sword is fully dormant.

The black path, the paladin becomes a anti paladin & grave knight. I know, not very lamashtu-like. But it should make a solid BBEG.

The red path, I have no idea. So, what would you suggust? It would have at least 2 lvls of paladin or anti paladin, and can take any monster feats, or templates, or whatever. I think I'm aiming for a cr 23ish BBEG. Minions / minor army suggestions are welcome.

The pc's are a paladin, an optimized zen archer, an optimized ninja / Horizon walker (for dimensional feat chain), and some kind of controll based bard.

So what would you do for the red path? Anti paladin / sorc/ dd? Some half-fiend anti paladin?
