Kit would be happy to lend her clover if Ginger can figure out how to activate it. Can also cast heroism to help.

Personally, I don't mind the specters at our level. It does tend to penalize front-liners by forcing them to pay for restorations, but there are a number of creatures out there like that and it helps elevate the feeling of threat when a creature can do significant harm.

I'm going to take this as a reminder to get some gear to protect against energy drain. Thinking a lesser talisman.

Kit makes some money mocking Hestram in her time off. he is an easy target and lucrative with the right audience. Harris picks up a few coins picking pockets, though Kit makes him give them back.

* You did miss the secondary success condition for not retrieving Airk's body. Kitoro, if you have a relevant boon, please provide a bit more detail, state if you'd like to use it, and (assuming it's a one-time thing) cross it off.

I have all my chronicles on-line. You can find the one for the Wounded Wisp here. I notate that a boon is crossed off by striking it out on my character sheet, which I just did.

Sounds good. If we fail to pick up a secondary winning condition, I will use the Prized Find boon from The Wounded Wisp to gain the PP anyway.

"OK, Boss. If you want to pay us to go find the body instead of sending a bunch of newbie recruits, fine with me. And if I spend a little extra time in the tavern questioning the strong burly guards, well, line of duty and all. Happy to oblige. Debriefing is over, yea?"

Kit moves to leave the room and diligently pursue the new mission with all DUE haste.

"Afraid not. We had a choice between collecting the body and retrieving this. We did find out that the hired thugs hid his body in some sea caves along the coast. We may have to return and question a few folks to find out where. By the way, Dargo was accompanied by an undead spirit he named Vaydren. Not sure if that is important or not. I don't suppose Airk's last name is Vaydren?"

"Yes, well, the item was sorely bought. That Drago fellow turned out to be a sneak thief conspiring thug. He got his boss killed and went for the statue himself. Seemed to have a way with undead. Probably a necromancer. Anyway, here you go. One sniper statue."

Though probably old hat to Hestram, Kit makes a show of pulling the rather large statue (at least of keeping in a pouch) out of her pathfinder pouch.

Kit briefly wonders whether Dargo, unconscious as he is, will eventually bleed out or drown, then dismisses it. Either the guards rescue him or he dies, which would suit her just fine. A rather unpleasant murderous fellow.

She gives him a brilliant smile and proclaims "Sounds good to me. One of the reasons I took this high risk job is that the society is quite generous with pay. It all evens out in the end and I've never been disappointed. Shall we head up now and see how the guards are doing?"

Since Kit has a nice stylish cloak with all kinds of mask embellishments on it (tiny theater masks with serious and comedic expressions) there is no way she is going to swap out cloaks! And the breastplate and swords are not her style either, so she turns her nose up at the loot. She does pick up the statue and examine it before tucking it away in her pathfinder pouch (or trying to, the thing only takes 10 pounds).

"Such a fuss for a fancy statue."

"Alls well that ends well. Now, let's see what is in this chest!"

Like The Rock, Kit checks for traps first, but if none are found she will try to unlock it.

Kit casts a DC 19 Cacophonous Call on Dargo, hoping to put him out of the combat for good, weaving the cast into her ongoing dance.

Unless you already have heroism going, then you could complain that it is only a +3/+5 :)

Kit starts dancing again (inspire +3) and Casts a Good Hope spell to boot.

Kit half expects her compatriots to erupt into action and pauses for a second to gauge the situation.

I'll give diplomacy a try if you all want to but I strongly suspect that there is no point in trying. On the other hand we might get a nice BBEG soliloquy if she does and those are always fun :)

"Well, Madame Mudd 'claims' her mud has healing properties and folks pay a pretty penny to visit. I can only imagine what actual healing mud would fetch. Anyway, something to consider. The beauty and healing business is quite lucrative."

Kit decides that bathing in mud as a beauty treatment has its merits, and a healing one at that, and joins in the watery festivities. Though the area becomes quite cloudy and she quickly leaves once her vision become obscured.

"I must say, I prefer the facilities at Madam Mudd's. I suggest, Mr. Rock, that the spell needs a little refinement if you want to make a few coins with it."

Kit slides forward as she continues dancing. Not seeing a good reason to waste any spells, she considers lashing out at yellow with her whip, but realizes that would not work well underwater. Then she considers harassing him by calling him names, but realizes that would not work because of the language barrier. But there are more ways than one to communicate her disdain, making rude gestures and mocking faces at him.

Using the Antagonize feat.
intimidate: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30

The inspiring dance continues as Kit winds up another spell and tosses a DC 16 sonic scream at the black eel, though she feels it is probably not necessary.

ear-piercing scream damage: 4d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3) = 11

No matter. The casters, or so I'm thinking the ones in the back could be, might end up fighting each other. That is my hope.

Kit begins her gyrating and inspiring dance (Inspire Courage +3), slowly moving away from the fight, but finding enough time to cast a DC 20 Confusion spell on the lot of them.

"The eels are powerful biters and will latch on and do some damage. Don't know much else though."

I'm with Malachi. There is room for disagreement, and my seeker level character has only ever encountered one GM that said that wands could not be used. So now she carries 5 scrolls of shield in case I run into another one.

I agree that it is a GM judgment. Just because the spell specifically says scrolls may be used does not mean that wands may not. And in my mind they both function pretty much the same. Personal spells work. The DC is based on the creator, not the PC. Enough so that my ruling would be to allow it were I GMing. But I could see an argument against it. Why specify scrolls but not include wands? No official ruling has been handed down and the arguments on the forums seem pretty split so no real consensus. Meh.

Kit gives the hole a look. Was it man made, part of the original ship, or is it something broken through?

In either case, she says, "Looks like the way down. One thing nice about doing all this underwater is that there is no risk of falling."

"Well, we could be thorough and check the rooms upstairs, but the action is probably down and in the room next to this one. We should probably just head down."

"I'm ready."

"Ah, but that is tomorrow and we have a mission to complete now. I guess we should carry on."

Fascinated by how her voice is changed when breathing water instead of air she sings a song to give it a try while she waits for the others to deal with their wounds.

I wonder how this will affect my sonic spells.

Seeing no movement on that front she makes an offer.

"Anyone need me to use a cure wand on them before we go to the next room?"

"Probably should have bought a scroll of restoration, but who knew!? I don't suppose any of you bothered?"

Kit dances her heart out and avoids the combat.

"Nasty customers, these guys. Wish we could have avoided them."

Dang, that's a LOT of attacks.

Oh well, missed that. She is continuing her performance as a free action. Afraid Kit will be of no use in this combat except for the +3 she offers.

Having already considered undead and what she is capable of doing to them, she breaks out the only spell that would affect one and casts a DC 17 blindness spell on the nearest uninjured foe (red?), though she does not hold out much hope that it will work.

How does Invisibility work underwater? Opinions vary wildly.

Knowing these are undead, she also knows that most of her spells are useless so she beats a retreat to the top of the stairs.

That means that you should add heroism with a duration of 160 minutes to your tag line from the spell Kit cast on you. And everyone who downed a potion should add water breathing 10 hours.

Harris joins the group, looking forward to the novel experience of heading undersea, and Kit takes the plunge and begins exploring the wet room, then waits by the door for someone bigger to enter the next area.

Absolutely accepting the spell

Kit follows the others into the water.

"I guess we go down now."

Before doing that she pokes around in the room a bit looking for any clues. To aid in the lighting she casts a dancing lights spell.

"Not going to find anything interesting in here. I guess another door is in order, and in order means that one." Again she points, this time indicating the door opposite the one they entered through.

Kit tags along and follows TR's example by casting the same spell on herself, also from a wand.

"Not exactly a hospitable place. You think those howlers upstairs slept here, or are the hammocks to old?"

Kit approaches the hammocks to see if they are old or new.

[ooc]Concensus is that we go through the northern door. I think we did all the buffing we plan to do.

Kit (somehow) makes it onto the ship and sticks her face in the seawater, testing her ability to breath. With a nod of approval she turns to the others and agrees, "Sounds like a sound way to start. We start over there," she points to the dry section of the ship.

Ah, I was thinking that the ship was our ship because it was small and the spoilered area was the wreck. It makes sense now.

Kit looks around for a way to climb aboard. If she finds one she climbs onto the deck. If not she asks The Rock for a lift. Harris turns into a raven and flies up to the crow's nest.

Did you mean to leave the ship spoilered?

"Well, there she is, complete with unhappy crew. What are you going to do with them?"

Kit hesitates, worried about her appearance, then has another concerning thought.

"But won't that make us float? Will we need to carry extra weight in order to descend?"

Once her concerns are assuaged, she agrees (though Harris is not concerned and waves her off).
